I'm having flashbacks of Resurrection for some reason.
If it's really a done deal, I can only hope we'll get to see the script in its entirety.

It's better this way, trust me.
-
It'll happen again eventually, just wait. What we really need is some new info on the Dracula's Curse animated movie
-
Probably the best Castlevania news I heard in some time!

The project, originally announced with Sylvain White (Stomp the Yard, I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer) attached to direct
A guy who made a sequel nobody has ever heard of to an already stupid movie series directing a video game adaptation.
Sounds like it could have been a real winner.

Thank goodness. With Anderson anywhere near the project, it was doomed to suck. Now all I need is news on CV PS3/360 @ E3 and this will be the best two weeks for CV.

Agreed. Also, I don't think that a live action CV movie would have been that good even if it had a good script. To me, any movie adaptation of videogames should be entirely CG like FFVII: Advent Children was.

Bingo! We need SOME news of ANY kind on this new game.
As for the film, I wasn't bashing it as much as most, but I wasn't praising it either. I was just adopting a wait and see stance toward it. Now that it's in production hell, who knows what will happen. If (and that's a very big if) the film goes back into production, let's hope they find a producer/director team that has at least played the games and is a big enough fan to do a decent job.

In reply to like every post in this thread:
I agree, I am *really* thankful the movie is dead...I did *not* have high hopes for it. XD XD XD

Party at my house at 7!
-
I hate to say it, but I'm kinda relieved it died.
-
i was looking forward to the movie. a movie is inevitable, all this is doing is delaying the release of a Castlevania movie or perhaps changing the team who will create it. i'd rather see one next year by anyone than wait five years.

I want to see a CV movie as much as any CV fan, but I want it to be good and be consistant with the storyline in the games.

There were actually two different potential scripts for the movie floating about the internet. One was the Simon version that pretty much throws out the whole background story for Castlevania. The other one followed Trevor and had all the Dracula's Curse characters, plus Mathias Cronqvist and Elizabeth Bartley, and seemed to respect the overall storyline of Castlevania a more (though there's plenty of places you could nitpick, I'm sure). Is everyone happy that neither of these scripts is going to find there way to the big screen? Or is it just that you have no faith in this particular team to handle a Castlevania movie.
