It seems sorta old, December and all, so I'm not sure if its been posted before, but wow, its awesome.

This IS awesome. I love newer songs done in old synth.

Is it just me, or does An Empty Tome sound like it could be used for a Wily Castle stage? It's mainly the percussion that makes me think so.

That's "Sent to the Devil's Requiem" from Castlevania: Haunted Castle (Arcade).
The Dungeon has the original version of it in the Multimedia Section.  Here's my arrangement of it (since digging for the link is hard):
