Title: U_U I have been mocked...
Post by: Marto on October 24, 2007, 01:36:22 AM
I have just been ridiculed about ten minutes ago by my fiancee when we went into the car, and all of a sudden that asshole bursts out laughing due to the Aria of Sorrow music that was playing.

He said, "Sheesh, I know you like Castlevania, but now you're even listening to 'Beepity-Beep' music?"

T_T I'm classified as a nerd and ridiculed for it by someone who practically creams himself every time he hears Super Smash Brawl. I feel very below the food chain.

So does anyone else here fall victim to mockery for listening to any of the Aria of Sorrow, or Harmony of Dissonance, etc music that might have a 'beepity' value to it? I'm sure I'm not the only loser that listens to those in his own spare time outside of playing the game.

o_O I listen to a lot of old school raw sample music.  People understand and respect that I'm a gamer, and those who don't find the swift side of my boot. :P

Then again, I regularly surround myself around people who find similar enjoyment from said "bleepity" music, I mean...why associate myself with people that can't respect? :3

I usually just listen to some old-school Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, all things (not shit-)metal.
Can't say I listen to Game tunes too much, but remixes can be awesome some time.
Travel Demon, for instance, is an amazing CastleVania remix.

Ah. Well, I love old-school tunes- I relgiously listen to the CV1 version of Vampire Killer, and CVII's Within These Castle Walls. And HoD's actual entrance hall version of Successor Of Fate (not the credits version) is one of my favorite tune of the entire series.
Even though it's outside of 'beepity' music, The Castlevania Chronicles OST is one of my favorite CD's to listen to amongst "real" music.

Nobody has yet to bother me for it, though.

Wait. I thought this was just some random guy, but your FIANCEE? What a dick!

Just rub his nose in it later. Or find a terrible, terrible game soundtrack (like Bubsy 2) and blast it in the car, when he's helpless and can't escape.

But yeah, most of my game-music-listening goes on when I'm alone, or in the car, or with my friends (who have similar tastes). Other friends who don't really do it don't care enough to ridicule me (mainly because they aren't dicks). I figured most people got out of the "Your taste sucks and I'ma publicly ridicule you for it" phase in high school.

Once or twice.  The last person though I simply told rather harshly to 'Fuck Off'.  They stayed quiet for a while before changing the subject, lmao.

All of my friends are gamers to some extent, or like the music in the games so no, I've never been ridiculed.

I have been ridiculed by my dad once when I put Vampire Killer  as my Mobile phone ringtone. But otherwise, no.

I thought Marto was a guy.

Same goes for me!

Anyway, i have been mocked by my best friends for listening LoI soundtrack, but i love to listening to Castlevania music themes and aria of sorrow has the best music from the three castlevania's at GBA! ;)

I don't have a car, but I'd imagine that if I did, I'd have to kick people out and yell "Tuck and roll, bitch!" if they did that.

I put on nothing but game music.  I actually don't listen to anything else.  *shines his nerd badge*

Well he DOES host a video game music radio station online. Last I checked the entire collection takes about... what, 3-4 weeks to play before looping? Iunno, it's probably a lot more than that now.

People have said things to me in the past, and I just laugh at them.

But for me, since I am gal, I tend to stun people when they find out I like Castlevania, Star Wars ect..

And I listen to what I want.  When and if someone does say something (it's rare) I remind them that they have a hobby that they like and it's the same thing.

They usually shut up right away.

While I like VG Music, I don't really find myself listening to it outside of games. It just isn't the same as listening to my favourite bands/artists.

And I have basically the same taste in music as my friends. If I ever listened to VG music they'd mock the hell out of me though, cause most of them don't play video games, apart from the occasional FIFA och Singstar.

i could care less, personally, if people hear me listening to game music. My ex liked games, and i've dated girls who knew i listened to game OSTs and OCR remixes and such.

If a person can't accept you for who you are and what you like, then there's always going to be awkwardness. everyone's different.

Did he really start out by saying "Sheesh"?

My MP3 player is mostly 40% video game music, and all my friends know I listen to it. For someone to drool over Smash Bros, he's full of shit if he says he doesn't enjoy listen to Melee's sound track.

In short, get a cattle prod for the next time something like this happens. Show him who wares the plumber pants in the relationship.

Well, it was more of a "Jeeez...", but you get the point.  ;)

Oh, and I had my revenge on the bastard. Today, when driving out to get ice cream ( I have horrible nightly snack cravings, had them since I was a wee little child), I blasted the Aqueduct of Dragons from Harmony of Dissonance. Granted, even I was in pain, but his facial expression was SO worth it. I then took Jorge D. Fuentes' advice, and told him that if he doesn't like it, he can "tuck and roll, bitch. Tuck and roll."

Oh, and to sweeten the misery that was his, I caught him listening to Smash Brothers 64 on his Ipod.

He will never mock me again.

I thought Marto was a guy.

 :-X Uh-oh...is Marto a girl, or is marto a guy? Genders, genders... :o  ;)

AH!! That is just cruel!  :o
The only thing I think could be more horrible than that would be if you put on 50 cent. Then, in his place, I would have truly "tucked and rolled" out of the car while it is going 75 mph.

Yes, it really was a kick to his groin. But Aqueduct of Dragons is bad enough. Think you that I can subject myself to anything further revolting like 50 cent?  :-X ewww

But it's still a great torture device, provided the tormentor has ear plugs ready to go. ;)

Dark Nemesis, trust me, he was rather speechless. He'll never mock me again.

Lol, I hate to say it Marto, but I thought you were a guy too up until this thread.  :P I guess it's the fact that your name ends with an o. In Spanish, most female names end with and A and most male names tend to end with an O, so hence the confusion.  :-X

This reminds me of something that happened in my English class last year.

Someone accused me of being emo, so someone else was like, "WHAT?! He can't be emo! He SLAYS VAMPIRES!" Then everyone else in the class went all "WTF?"

That's nothing. A boy from my class accused me once with BEING a vampire.
That led to a funny situation. You see, I have a perversion with black clothes. I don't know why, guess I find them sexy. But I wear them ONLY in the winter. During the summer I wear white, yellow, green, heck, any color except black. Yet when the winter comes, I grab my black jeans, shirt and jacket and become a goth.
So there was this time once when I forgot about gym class and came to school wearing my black jeans and coat. When the coach was all "why the f**k are you not in gym clothes, kid?" this guy answered: "That's ok, coach. He can't wear any color except black."  ;D

I walked into office depot the other day, wearing all black. The cashier asked me if I was a vampire. I told her yes, and that she should lock her windows at night.

lol whatd she say to that? And what is it with the world that cant let ppl dress how they wanna dress? Like me for instance Im not a goth a punk or anything like that I wear short and a tshirt or pants and a tshirt but my coat is like an old 1800s early 1900s long coat with a shouldercape and I wear it and ppl are like wtf. Its not like I have chains hangin off me and fuckin face paint my coats not even as flamboyant as the ones they actually wore in the time period its design came from I still get funny looks and questions.

I recently died my hair black, and since it's about a foot and a half long and usually curly, the hair dye for some reason turned it a bit straighter. To top it off, I usually have a very early 1900s clothing style.

Don't even ask how many times people compare me to a vampire.

>_> Usually they stop once they see the scowl I give them.

People don't think I'm a vampire, but they associate me with Columbine and stuff 'cuz of the long coat I wear and the long black hair I have (NOT dyed, all natural :P).

But at work, since I have to take my belt off to get past the security checkpoint, I often 'snap' it against the floor, and the guards, since they know Castlevania, are like "are you gonna go kill Vampires after work?" and I'm like "O.o yes! >_>"  :P
