Since no one is visiting the temporary forum anymore, I will post my impressions here.
These are the impressions I have spending about 1 hour playing the game.
I've played about 2 stages and half and will talk about my impressions on this game.
About the story, there is a prelude kind of scene featuring screenshots from the NES games, and texts accompanying saying that Dracula have been once again revived and Christopher is up to save the day. Nothing special. After that, I haven't encountered any story telling scenes.
The design, at first glance this game looks alot like the X68k title and the MD title combined, the character sprite is well done, Chris moves a little bit like Richter but generally he kinda resembles Simon in X68k. The stage layout has been completely changed from the original Adventure game, though there are some elements remained. Such as the tiny platforms with huge gap in between and the floating platforms. Most of the emenies have been redesigned, like the crow, the thing that spits out a ball which attacks you.
Bosses are comepletely new. One thing I need to mention is that mid-bosses have been added, like when you have progressed about half of the stage. The first mid boss is the classic giant bat, the second is a huge slim. First stage boss is a super large bouncing eyeball which can grow out little eyeballs rolling around(you can only kill them by crouch attack). Second stage boss is a mutant man which can throw rocks at you, he can grow buffed like Hulk, and can turn back and looks like a skinny guy and jumping around.
Classic sub-weapons like cross, dagger and axe are as effective as in old school castlevanias. The fireball whip in the original game have been altered, when you get hit you can still have it, only there's a time limit, it's the green bar just below the health bar. When the time ends, your whip will go back to a normal chain whip, until you have got another power-up later on. You can have only one fireball on the screen which means you can't swing whip multiple times and try to make bunch of fireballs like in the oroginal game.
Controls, you can change the direction while jumping now though the facing direction will not change. the attacks seem fluid, though there are only two buttons available, whip and jump. You can't change the whip's direction like in Super IV or Bloodlines. Also, after I quited to the title screen, a message saying an option called "Player Style" is now available, I tried to set the style to classic, and now I can't change direction when jumping, dunno about other changes though.
Now, the music. It seems to me that the Sound source or sound chip is the same as the other two rebirth titles, so it sounds a little bit like X68k, the arcade and MD combined. The music track in the prelude is the music plays during the map demo on Dracula XX SNES, dunno the title. Every stage beginning a short tune will play which originally from the very beginning of the Vampire Killer on the X68k title, then followed by the actual stage BGM. The first stage BGM is "Reincarnated Soul" which I dissapointed a little about not being "Battle of the Holy" it was suppose to be in the original. Second stage BGM is "Sent to the Devil's Requiem" from Haunted Castle, it sounds a bit strange for a stage BGM though. The third stage is "New Messiah" from Belmont's Revenge.
According to 2ch, there are 6 stages, and the BGM for the rest are
LOAD BGM from X68k
Aquarius from Castlevania III
Vampire Killer from Castlevania I
update:
Stage boss bgm: Final Battle from Haunted Castle
Map Demo: Start BGM from the original Adventure
No stage BGMs from the original Adventure title as 2ch gamers stated.
Also, there are hidden rooms which you can only access by aquire a key as a sub-weapon, same as Rondo. Rope actions seem to be cancelled accroding the 2ch gamers. When the game starts, a map screen will apear, and Chris will walk through the screen just like the classic Castlevania and X68000 version, kinda nostalgic? There are also alternate passage ways exist which some can not be entered for certain reasons, maybe a switch or a key somewhere....
There is no save option, once you exit the game and return to title screen(or wii menu), you will have to start all over again, however, as stated in 2ch there is a stage select option somewhere, and maybe triggered by pressing right and start at the same time during title screen, I need to confirm this later on.
edit: at the game select screen, put cursor on "game start", then hold right on the direction pad for a few seconds. There you go.
Overall, it's pretty decent, aside from the letdown which it's not a exact remake of the original like the first Chronicles.

So basically, it's a new game that just happens to be associated with Castlevania Adventure by title and Christopher only?
I guess I fail to see the point. The Chronicles games did well (at least DXC did), so why not put forth a little extra effort by throwing in remixes of the original game's music and revamp the boss sprites? Even if this was meant to be a "filler" until LoS or any other Castlevania game came out....they could have given it a little more love. What I see looks cool, but it's a bunch of little things that they seem to have left out that disappoint me. I was looking forward to playing it too.....now not so much. (I probably still will though....if my significant other DLs it on his Wii)

All I can say i... was it that hard IGA? :P
This game is an excellent tribute, not only for The original Adventure, but the other classic castlevnia series, from the way that Chris walks upstairs - like Simon in Haunted Castle - or the forgotten music - Aquarius for example - or the demonic form or Dracula - That ends with the super model IGA Dracula *special exception the genius Ecclesia one* -or the three forms from Castlevania III, it honors the old Vanias, and it made me happy, another great thing: NO RECYCLED SPRITES! Wow Iga, you surprised me, it was great, only the protoplasm is recycled, the others are completely new. :)
And what about the bosses? Those BEAUTIFUL bosses, scaled and rotating, that Death, wow, spectacular. ;D
Just to say: it's one of the best classicvanias ever, up there with III and ROB and IV, great and made with love.
Iga: This project had no much money, and you made a good work - and new sprites - is it that hard? ::)
-
Man just played this on my friend's wii, this is the best of the rebirth titles! I love the x68000 styled music(and the game has a feel of that and bloodlines while mixing in stuff from the classic CV:A) and it's a classic castlevania through and through. The only thing i was disappointed with was the dracula battle, but there's a surprise there too! Christophers sprite is good, all the enemies have new sprites, and I noticed some recycled backgrounds but nothing as bad as the previous 2 ds games.
Oh, and in the credits the first name that scrolls is none other than IGA as producer. :)
-
I can't wait to play this. I'm a little disappointed with the music, but it still looks fun. And it's an original game, so I like that.
Is this actually out in the states yet?
-
My comments as far as I can tell:
- Gameplay looks pretty easy, even lame.
- Sounds like a Hannah-Barbera cartoon, literally (the giant eyeball dropping sound, the slime killing sound, etc).
- Maybe disposing ropes is not as cool as one can think.
- There are seemingly interactive shiny things in the background, but when Christopher whips them nothing happens.
- Oddly chosen music.
- Graphics are OK.
-
I hope you realize the videos on youtube are of the game on easy. There are more enemies and some stages have reworked layouts in the harder difficulties.
EDIT:you should understand too that I was incredibly skeptical of this game to begin with (especially from the screenshots)-it's fun and worth playing.
-
My mostly negative opinion of the game (abused music, AoS sprite hacks) wasn't helped by the absence of other Adventure trademarks, Gobanz and Death Bat (known as Gobanz in JPN).
-
Just seen the entire playthrough. Wow, the level design is sick and there seems to be a level of trap/enemy placement that rivals some Mega Man games.
Love the bosses. I wonder if they have actual names, because I'm kinda wondering if the boss of Stage 2 is either Jekyll/Hyde or Cursed Grant.
Love that just about ever monster from the original CV Adventure are accounted for(I think with the exception of the worms). Nice to see Zeldos back again.
-
I am confused. I thought the first adventure game was considered bad in regards to level design, Christopher's slow walking animation, and controls. Not to be mean or anythin' but now people are disappointed that rebirth has Christopher walks fast(a complaint I have read on youtube) and doesn't have the old levels?
Seein as how IGA somewhat redesign that secret level in DXC, I can imagine he reconstructed the lvls in this game because of complaints from the original ver
-
Well, to me, the Giant Bat mid-boss looks a bit like the Death Bat. It kinda has a humanoid body(even though it's basically acts like the Phantom Bat).
Other than that, the level design is way better than the original CV Adventure. I love what I'm seeing.

I agree
The bat boss looks half man much like the boss in the original version.
I am suprised that the worm enemies, the guy w/ the two boomerangs, and the two-legged creature are in this remake. It seems that all the norml original enemies, (with the exception of the knight boss,) are in rebirth
The level designs are also better than the old version, imo

Cmon Guy:
1- You can select the dificult (Easy, Normal, hard)
2- The sounds is the some of the x68000 or others of snes and genesis, whats the problem? is a Rebirth, the intention is the tribute
3- Oddly choosen music? Aquarius, New Messiah, Riddle, Reincarnet Soul and more is Oddly Chosen? man go to Doctor and see your ear plz...

Many Thanks man!!!!! ;D

Giggdti giggdty woooooooot !?!?!?
In Reply to... lol man! its not a Chronicle, its a REBIRTH, its a complete different thing, it takes classic elements and works it in the best way for the wii thing
The details were good, the only thing that i complain about the game is the "limit time" it doesnt let u explore the entire stage, since u can see it has the elements of secret passages from Rondo, and the effects are sweet.
Maybe the sound of the throwing bone its weird but the reason could be the same of that familiar sound on the music, did someone remember... Sunset Riders?

If you want, but the original Death Bat is more like a Slogra predecessor; it's got a beak and a prominent rib cage.

Because none of it is from the original Castlevania Adventure game. No Battle of the Holy, Revenge, or Theme of Lengend of Dracula - all wonderful tracks that need some lovin' in the form of good remixes. Its not at all that the tracks they chose are bad by any means (I love that Reincarnated Soul showed up somewhere after Bloodlines). Its just that THEY AREN'T FROM ADVENTURE.
Goes back to my question of, what's the point of remaking a game if you aren't going to take a majority of the elements that actually made the original game tolerable? Classic tunes and bosses make a game, in my opinion. So, it's not really a remake....it's a "re-imagining". Which is probably why its not a Chronicles game....but why not go all that way? Would it have taken that much longer or more effort?
-
Perhaps because the original game sucked? We are CV fans and we like it, but go around there, few people outof us liked the Adventure - remember, it was made faster than normal because it was almost launched with the Game boy, and the team was too unexperienced - so, why make exactly the original? why not only take the best - enemies, conception of stages - and make it better? This is what remakes should be - even if this is a reimagining - the best of the originals and improved.
And there is music from Belmont's revenge. Yes, I know, but it's something. Adventure original music was not that good.
-
They seriously have "new messiah" in there? F'n sweet. Can't wait to play...sucks thats there seems to be no word yet on a US release.

I agree. I dont see the point in remaking a game and not updating any of the original material or music. Though the game still looks fun to play.

Unless konami announce the name of the midboss in stage1, we can assume Deathbat is in the game. Only the crappy wormboss commin from holes and the boss/non-boss knight with morning star are not in rebirth
The game does retain most of the normal baddies. For instance, the crows, the bird-lookin monster who has only two legs, the spear knights, worms, bats, the guy with the two boomerangs, and the eyeball are all in the game.

Well from that bit of information it seems like they did try to include some of the enemies. I'll have to actually play the game though in order to make a proper conclusion on it. Thanks for the info.

I don'tknow about you, but the bat creture seems similar to the boss in the gb original

He does have a prominent rib cage and the beak is debatable
esp how the bat boss in rebirth has a long nose. Maybe whoever did the sprites did her/his own idea of what the deathbaat looks like and maybe thought the "beak" is a long snout.
I mean, the rib cage, beak, and slogra connection are spectulations by Kurt Kalata.
That is if the death bat doesn't have a lineart drawing in the manual

No problem. I just want to give correct info so that other CV fans won't get discourage in purchasing the game esp how misinformed info can sway a person
Other than the morning star knight and maybe the slime enemies, most if all the non-boss enemies are in rebirth
There are even some new and original ones, as well as some old enemies
-
Anyone has a feelin that there might be two bosses (not counting mid-bosses)per stage? I realize that there are doors in stage 1 n 2,where several ppl playing the levels on youtube videos ignores
I am aware of the alt route videos, but I notice htat in stage 2, there is another locked door after the players open the previous locked door

Yeah that is true though if I had a Wii I would still buy it just to give it a shot and if konami gets a good profit from it they might release others. After I get a ps3 and a new tv ill probably end up getting a Wii so I can give it a shot (hopefully it will be out in the states by then) and also give Judgment a shot even though I haven't heard much good about it other then it has a lot of fan service.
I also hope they get ms kojima to release some official artwork. I would like to see how she envisions Christopher even though from the looks of his sprite he just seems to be doing the Simon Belmont warrior thing which isn't bad.
-
Hey leo, you reposted 4 times, edit ot Mr Fuentes will come with his castle-banhammer :P
About the alternate paths, yes, I think so, but they are hard to find, just look at some vids, but there are some, I haven't watched them but you can find them now, sure, there are more bosses :D

I still think some sounds are just weird (yes, the bone throwing sound is one of them). Does Konami really need to use old stock cartoon sounds with 20+ Castlevania games with original sounds at hand?
And for the music, "oddly chosen" is not the same as "bad music", so I guess I'll save the money for that Doctor.
After watching many of the gameplay videos, I'm only in love with Stage 3. The remaining levels look sorta easy, but even that I'll buy it and I'll play it (in Hard) =P
-
Regarding the sound effect concerns, I'm pretty sure that SotN even used a cartoony sound effect in the original Japanese version...and I don't believe that said sound effect made it into the U.S. version.
Basically, after Death steals Alucard's equipment, he swoops down slightly before he floats toward the top of the screen, emitting a cartoony "swoop" sound effect of sorts. I honestly don't remember ever hearing this in the U.S. version.
Anyway, I'm more concerned that I have yet to see a game play vid of somebody jumping onto or off of stairs. Does anyone here happen to know if stair-jumping is possible?
-
Hey! After a second watching I've noticed this game has an excellent spritework/animations, with lots of nice lightning effects. The boss battles are spectacular as well =DDD
-
To kevinski: it's impossible. You cant jump on or off stairs, just like Cv III or I, go go Old School! :D
-
And there is music from Belmont's revenge. Yes, I know, but it's something. Adventure original music was not that good.
You kidding? The music was probably one of the few good things about Adventure. The ones I listed previously are the more prominent of the game, though. There is a reason they were used in the Dracula Battle and Dracula New Classic albums.
Belmont's Revenge's music is better just in the fact that there are more tunes that are catchy rather than just a few. Believe me, I'm glad to hear New Messiah (and even happier for Reincarnated Soul getting some love). I just wish they would have tried including a few of Adventures tunes. Here's hoping that perhaps the American release includes some bonus tracks.
I do like the remixes of what I have heard thus far, though.
-

I you believe that you pretty much missed the point of why games are being remade in the first place and that's for one reason only: nostalgic value. Of course there's no point in remaking a game that is considered by most fans to be bad and maybe it's a good thing that they give Chris some lovin' by making him star in an awesome game like this. Still, it's kind of misleading to call this a remake/reimaging of Adventure since it's references to that game are minimal at best (story, character, logo and some enemies) and it pays more tribute to other games (reused backgrounds, sprites and music from several other games in the series, elements that are more important) but don't get me wrong, this seems like a good classicvania-styled game to me.
Bottom-line: CVA Rebirth is a good tribute to the classicvania's but as an tribute to Adventure...
not so much.
Which sadly is kind of ironic.
-
I absolutely hated Adventure, but the music was excellent. So while I'm happy to hear Reincarnated Soul again (It's probably my favourite CV tune ever) I wish they'd kept the original soundtrack. I find this choice of music very very odd... good, but odd. We'll never hear the complete Adventure soundtrack in a future CV now, cause Rebirth was THAT game... blah.
-
To kevinski: it's impossible. You cant jump on or off stairs, just like Cv III or I, go go Old School! :D
What doesn't make sense is why you can control your jumps in mid-air, but you can't jump on and off of stairs. For every thing that I like about the game, there's something else that I dislike. For instance, I like how the whip's fire is handled, but why'd they take a step back by omitting the feature caused your current sub-weapon to simply drop behind you upon picking up a new one?
I still can't wait to play the game, though. ^_^

I do not think reimaging is misleadin especially how the word is used to label remakes that does not really follow the orig. The new CV game is not a faithful remake in regards that it does not use the same stagez from the gb original. However the fireball whip, the belmont, the level themes (outside 'grave' level, cavern, and spike dungeon) , the enemies are from the original gb title, and the concept of the main character going to kill dracula is taken from the original title, hence a reimagination.
Recently, the term reimagine has become popular to describe remakes that do not closely follow the original. The term is used by creators in the marketing of films and television shows to inform audiences that the new product is not the same as the old. Reimagines often contain tongue in cheek references to the original with characters and concepts of the same name, but significantly changed. In Tin Man, a reimagine of The Wizard of Oz, the main character is named DG (a reference to Dorothy Gale from The Wizard of Oz), and the land she enters is called the Outer Zone (O.Z.). Reimagining a franchise often leads to controversy within established fan communities as to which is more legitimate or more popular. Examples of remakes that are most associated with the reimagine term are Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes, Nora Ephron's Bewitched, Marcus Nispel's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th, Rob Zombie's Halloween, Ronald D. Moore's Battlestar Galactica, David Eick's Bionic Woman, Nelson McCormick's Prom Night, and Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead. This has bled over to video game and comic mediums with games like Bomberman Act: Zero, a more hardcore edge to Bomberman that wasn't well received. Bionic Commando Rearmed, which changes some elements of the game and story to fit into a sequel but pays homage to the original. In comics with the new Sgt. Rock, with the Rock as a member of the 442nd and the unknown "Easy Company" and Unknown Soldier, which takes place in 2002 Uganda, both which change the setting or the character to be more realistic and modern.

Using elements from other games from the same franchise doesn't make a game less of a remake. Metroid zero missions and castlevania four uses elements that first appeared in previous games

Yeah, but like it said before, there are much more elements from other Castlevania´s, and barely any from the orginal itself, only making this a remake because the developers say it is. Unless you meant to say "reimaging" instead of "remake". Now a title like "Castlevania: The Adventure Remix" or something like that would be much more appropriate instead of trying to pass it off as a remake.

I think the idea was to make a Rebirth game that pays tribute to all the classic Castlevanias. They just called it The Adventure because Simon's story has been told and retold quite enough already, whereas Christopher has only ever been mentioned on the Game Boy and nowhere else.
Also, le052383 brings up a great point. Metroid: Zero Mission felt much closer to Super Metroid than it did to the original, in pretty much every way. But Zero Mission was still a remake of the original Metroid, not Super Metroid. It just used more elements from Super Metroid in its gameplay and level design.
All remakes ARE re-imaginings of the original, the two things are one and the same.

I do not think anyone at Konami have said that the rebirth games are intended to be graphical remakes

I said remakes whereas franchises like Sword of Mana, despite being referred as a remake of the original Seiken Densetsu game, is loosly connected to the gameboy and has more elements from the later games.
I think the Rebirth name is fitting since Rebirth does not label something as a direct remake. For instance, the definition of Rebirth from Wikipedia is "Rebirth (Buddhism), belief that consciousness arising in the new person is neither identical to, nor different from, the old consciousness, but forms part of a causal continuum "
We fans, are the ones who are assuming that the rebirth means a verbatum remake. Therefore, it is our own fault if we are disappointed in the wii CVA for not being a simple graphical remake.
-
In regards to the rebirth subtitle, it doesn't really mean that the games are remakes but rather, refers to the concept that the rebirth games are games that are styled after the old series
For instance, Contra Rebirth is a brand new game yet it is the first contra game since the SNES version to be in 2D without any added abilities like the "bionic commando" arm.

you are absoulately right. A lot of movie remakes are remagining of a previous film and are not really alike scene per scene. For instance, the get smart flms added a character that the rock plays and the tomb raider remake changes some stuff to allow it to fit better in the lara reboot.
Seems odd that there would a be a debate on what constitute a remake of a game
-
Oh, I see.
I don't want to sound repetive, but I still think the references to Adventure are too sporadic, to consider it to be a "rebirth" of that game specifically. Of course that's completely my opinion. Reimaginings and remake are not the same thing though.
-
Anybody know the release date for the US?
-
This game is a blast. I've played it for a few hours, finally beat it earlier today, and will be embarking on hard mode soon. I love just about everything about it. Makes me wish they make more new side-scrolling Castlevania games of the old style.
I love the arcade- and Sega Genesis-style music. The graphics look very reminiscent of a Game Boy Advance game, which isn't bad, but I'd prefer if it were more up to Super NES or Nintendo DS quality. Still, way awesome.
Although, aside from the fireball-shooting whip, and the rolling eyeballs, I'm confused as to why it's called Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth.
-
if no one else noticed, chris's sprite is only a red richter

Either the U.S. release or how to download the game on my Japanese system. I have no clue what I'm doing wrong. LOL

If you have a Japanese Wii, it should be as easy as buying Japanese Wii points (you can get 'em from Play-Asia.com, for example) and then logging onto the shop channel and buying it.
Hopefully a US release isn't very far away. I hate not paying for the things I like. This and Rondo of Blood and Splatterhouse arcade all need to come out in the States.

Thanks! :)

Since I dont own a Wii I've been watching some vids on youtube and I must say the game looks pretty awesome. I really like Dracula's design in it.
-
Wish it would come out for the US already.

I really love the way the game (and Dracula's design) looks as well. A lot of traps, enemies and overall, Castlevania nostalgia. I rather like Dracula's boss fight.
-
Anyone know any ways to play this before its officially released?
-
Id like to know as well
-
I don'tknow about you, but the bat creture seems similar to the boss in the gb original

Actually, the idea that Death Bat has ties to Slogra was started by us both nearly a decade ago...

...with very good reason.
Personally, accepting The Traditional Giant Vampire Bat as the Death Bat nod is like embracing that cyborg in Judgement as Grant DaNasty. ...or that little girl as Lecarde.
I want a Slogroid, dammit!
(Belmont's Revenge ScrewBirth'll be their last chance...)

Alright, I had this big in-depth review written out, but my damn browser crashed so I'll just say this:
I have the game, I beat it on normal mode, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were things I like and mostly little things I didn't. In the end its a pretty good game, and a well done CV.
You just have to keep in mind that it isn't a straight remake of CVA. It is a Rebirth series game and those games are all about nostalgia for a given series, not for specific titles.

How did you get to play it? Do you live in Japan?
-
There's a wonderful thing called "emulation."
-
In Reply To #68
You don't even have to emulate it. One can just hack their Wii and install the Japanese WiiWare version on their US console. Unless that's what you meant when you said emulation, in which case it's not.
Doing so is how I'm able to play CV:TA ReBirth and also the Japanese-exclusive Virtual Console releases of Rondo of Blood and Splatterhouse Arcade. ;D
-

Relax, man. Just wanted to know how he got to play it because I want to play it too.

On the US Release Date:
This month's Nintendo Power has an article on it and alluded to the fact that it should be released for the US very soon. It said something along the lines of "Indeed, if you are reading this it has more than likely been released".
So it HAS to be soon. Unless Nintendo issues a statement going "PSYCH! j00 AR teh LO0zerz!" I find that improbable at best.
-
Then possibly by this coming Monday or the one that follows, as it's around the time Nintendo Power starts hitting stores and what not.
-
That Nintendo Power issue has been in store for over a week though. :(
-
Even earlier for those of us with Subscriptions.
-
Ah. Well then nevermind. :(
-
I know this game won't be as good as Super Castlevania 4 but I hope it's a lot better than Dracula X.
-
heh dont go hopin too hard there buddy. Rondo is one of the best CVs ever made

Rondo of Blood and Dracula X are two totally different games.

Correct though some ppl usually think about the original version of the game as Dracula X, hence some confusion.
-
I always say Vampire's Kiss. This way there's no confusion whatsoever.
Then again, I'm european. :o

This
Rondo IS Drac X...
-
CastleVania: Dracula X {Akumajou Dracula XX} is Akumajou Dracula X: Chi no Rondo retold for the Super Nintendo {Super Famicom} format.
-
Ummm....no. Rondo of Blood is Akumajou Dracula X and Dracula X is the lackluster Super NES port.

lol indeed
-
This would have never happened if they hadn't gotten so funky with the names.
-
Well, I guess they couldn't have called it Dracula XX here since Dracula X never hit America.
-
This game makes my mouth water! :D This game and Judgement are really the whole reason I want to buy the Wii. Of course there are other games I want to play, but until now I didn't have an extreme urge to buy one.
-
Don't get your hopes up for Judgment. Even being the hardcore Castlevania fan that I am, I got bored in 3 days. I still play it from time to time, but I could have gone without it.
-
Based on Nintendo Power's general statement about the release date being soon, and the fact that it's been held back for what I assume is a relatively long time for a downloadable game, I'm starting to think it may be released on Christmas eve or Christmas day. Just a thought I had earlier today. Maybe Nintendo's wanting to release a crapload of games on Christmas as some special occasion or something. Like it's a "gift" to Wii owners. Just speculation on my part though.

I really just interested to see how they did turning it into a fighting game. I am not sure how I feel about them re-designing every character though....
-
I'm dissapointed that they disregarded the level layout and music of castlevania adventure. This game should have a different name.
-

I wasn't too upset with the new character art. I think they still generally captured the spirit of each character.

I agree with that except for with Grant and Maria, other than that I'm fine with it.
As for Adventure Rebirth, there's still no US release for this yet is there?
-
This is definitely a game I'm going to have to play. Even more so then the contra rebirth game. But it is unfortunate that it lacks some of the essentials that made it 'The adventure'.
-X
-
Yeah, why call it Castlevania Adventure Rebirth when it resembles next to nothing of the original? Makes no sense.
-
Well Rebirth isn't the same as Remake. I think they just used Castlevania Adventure as the Rebirth title is because of the music and the protagonist
-
The NA site is up ;) :
http://www.konami.com/games/castlevania/castlevania-adventure-rebirth.php
-
"most popular games"? Most ppl hated Adventure
-
I take offense at them calling the graphics "revamped" since there isn't a single pixel in that game that can be recognized as having been based of anything in the original, douche bags. I hate it when advertisement departments make shit up just to make it sound good.
-

Release date??
-
Bored of waiting, playing by alternative means =DDD It's a cool game, I'm playing it in Hard Mode! Apparently the game is a cross collab between more than one company, and IGA serves as the producer. More impressions later =P
-
Screw it, I just bought myself a Japanese Wii points card and I'm going to buy it on my JP Wii. NVM the rest, I got it to work. Just have to wait for the card. :)
-
You could always just wait.
-
You could always just wait.
Why should I? I have the system and money to burn on the points card to get the game the legal way, so why wait?
-
sound track for Castlevania: The Adventure and Gradius ReBirth is at Konami Style now:
http://www.konamistyle.jp/ecitem/item62572.html
i'm really disappointed there's no new art on the cover. hope that's not the final product or that they at least add some new art on the inside of the sleeves. i'm a little irritated the game doesn't seem to feature any new Christopher art and was hoping the OST would make up for that.
-

The music? Well, I couldn't find a single track from the original Adventure, or am I missing something here? I think this game should've been called just "Castlevania ReBirth", cause the "Adventure" part is just misleading and unnecessary and quite frankly a bit annoying. Maybe this is a cheap way for Konami to not EVER remake the game boy games properly? They probably think they've done the Castlevania Adventure fans happy by releasing ReBirth, but the Game boy games are as neglected as ever. The chances of seeing real remakes of these games are now kinda non-existent.
Lol, "Castlevania Adventure fans".....
-
It would be a big slap in the face if Belmont's Revenge isn't going to be a direct remake. If it ever comes out. :(
edit: Heh, It would be kind off cool if they gave the game an update and include all the levels from the orginal. And stuff.
-
there's anybody who can tell me if already exist a version to download to pc???
I don't have a wii so I cant play this game
and I wont buy a wii only for that game
-
lots of recycled sprites. Not a big surprise I guess.
-
First, let me get it clear: I loved The Adventure. It was fun. Plus, I loved the Dracula fight. The music was great. "Battle of the Holy", and "Clock Tower Samba" (I call it that name because it SOUNDS like samba) were epic.
Now, when I saw this on WiiWare, I thought: "What can be better?". After playing, I thought how magnificent it was. Now, after beating the goddamed game, I replayed on hard. It reminded me of how hard the original was :). It was completely different thought it felt like the original.
This brought back memories at the age of 6 me playing The Adventure. Even more when I disabled midair control.
Thanks IGA; for a great game.
But I still hate you.
-
Hi everyone.
I made a fake cover for this game. I used the DS box format and retouched the original Belmont's Revenge artwork for the front. I printed it and it looks good in my opinion. Hope you'll like it:

this thread is mad old lol
but cool cover; makes me wish even more that the game saw a portable/physical release rather than being confined to wiiWare
-
Old thread yes ...
... but I have to admit that I just bought the game on WiiWare this week !!
It's part of the collection, it's why I made a concrete cover !! ;D
-
I still haven't played this game, I'll have to check it out.
