Title: The Alucard Spear.
Post by: Lumas on October 28, 2009, 11:17:46 PM
Not sure if this has been posted so if it has sorry in advance.

According to IGA's story Alucard created the spear Eric uses to compliment the power of the Vampire Killer. If thats so I wonder if he had some knowledge of using the same techniques of Devil Forge Mastery that Hector and Issac used. It would make sense sense it was Dracula who taught them.

Anyway thought it might be a good topic of discussion.

Wasn't that whole "meant to compliment the Vampire Killer" thing introduced in Judgment, which is non-canon? (technicality, yes)

I never liked the idea of the Vampire Killer whip needing something to compliment it, or that the Alcarde/Alucard Spear was created for the sole purpose of being second-string to the Vampire Killer deliberately. Why can't it simply be a weapon Alucard forged on his own, that just happens to be bad-ass in its own right? Not everything needs to be connected.

Yeah technically yes you would be correct it would be non cannon but with IGA's track record (going off the assumption he could be somewhat attached to Castlevania still being there is no concrete evidence that proves he isn't) of taking out games of the official time line like legacy of darkness then turning around and placing them back in it Judgment could be one day cannon.

Also you have to keep in mind that the events of Judgment are simply non cannon though the connection to each of the characters would be considered cannon.

And again in Portrait of Ruin (which is cannon and porbably where they got the idea for that conversation between Eric and Alucard in Judgment) the weapon description for the Alucard Spear is "A spear with ties to Alucard. Once used by Eric " which you can obtain through Wind's/Eric's quests.

Soo with all that I think it is safe to assume that, according to IGA's time line, the Alucard Spear was made by Alucard to compliment the vampire killer.

Sorry your opinion differs but the point was to discuss weather you think Alucard had some knowledge of Devil Forge Mastery and that the Alucard Spear was made by that method.

I acknowledge your opinions.

Sorry about skipping the Devil Forgery thing. In all honesty, it probably isn't so much Devil Forging that could have produced the spear, since Devil Forging created sentient creatures. The regular weapons forging from the game seems more likely, with the idea that mystical materials enchant the item they are used to create. Issac's Chauve Souris Spear may have been created in the same way Alucard created his spear.

Its cool.

I figured that it was the same method (Devil Forge Mastery)that produced the weapons and the sentient creatures but I dont think it really stated that both methods were the same so I would venture to say you are right about that and I do agree that it was probably the same method Issac used to create his.

Another interesting thing is that the Vampire Killer was created from Alchemy and Sara's Soul giving it the power to destroy any type of evil creature so I wonder how the spear would actually compliment or in other words assist the vampire killer using that type of method?

Well, if you read the Curse of Darkness manga, it states in the first chapter that Devil Forging is nothing more that a demonic form of Alchemy.  So, you could that the vampire killer and alucard spear are simular weapons.  Keep in mind that just because some thing is created with either Alchemy or Devil Forging, doesn't mean that it is good or evil.

darkwzrd4 presented some interesting ideas. I agree...the weapon itself cannot be inherently either good or bad. That idea can be reinforced even more by the appearance of the Alucard spear in CV Judgment. It features "good" designs as well as "evil" ones, which in conjunction, form one incredible weapon.
Hopefully even more will be revealed about the origins of the Alucard spear in the future.

Yoko is able to do a limited form of alchemic Weapon Forging in Dawn of Sorrow, using the souls of captured enemies...

...I would imagine it to be somewhat related to the forging of weaponry with souls, that created weapons such as the Vampire Killer.

This is an interesting discussion, but I fear that our speculation as to the origins of the Alucard Spear, but may be moot seeing how the next console CV game "Lords of Shadow" is suppose to reset everything (or so I've heard).
