For whatever reason, Eiji Aonuma has dropped some spoilers about the next Zelda for Wii. Without giving specifics, he hinted that Link would probably be able to travel via the air, and that the game's structure might progress differently than previous games. He also noted the Motion Plus controls we all know about.

Traveling through the sky, huh? Hang glider or by bird, maybe? (please, no planes!) I hope it isn't a central mechanic like the boat and train stuff on the DS/DSi. I do like the idea of changing the progression of the game, but not if it means Phantom Hourglass-style with the Ocean King Temple. I'm cautiously hyped for this one.

*dreams following scenario*
"Open chest, finds bird call (looks like a flute).
Goes outdoors, blows the bird call, and a big bird swoops down.
Jumps up on the birds back and off we go, in full control over the big lively seamless Hyrule!!"

I'm definitly having mixed feelings about this game... I never played phantom hourglass and I have no real desire to. I'm not even going to play spirit tracks cause I feel that they've deviated from what made Zelda... Well, Zelda. So if this game turns out to be something along those lines then I think I'm done with the series. I'd rather see Zelda return to it's roots. Now Nintendo could do a real cool Zelda game in 3D but still sporting the overhead-looking down at your character type of game play. It may not have worked well in the CDi's Zelda's Adventure but it can work now.
