Title: Question about Castlevania II start and password screen

In that point where you get the password option there is a picture of a face in between two quills above the start box. However I have played the game but I don't see the face. I think the face is of Dracula. Does anyone remember this?

Just lose all your lives and select Password to see it.

Just as a sidebar not too long ago I hacked the face onto drac's body when you fight him at the end.

I think Drac has a better chance against Simon now.  Just lean over...and... ::CHOMP!::

Dracula's head immortalized on the cross. It amazes me even today that Konami of america let this one thing slide past their radar while other less expressive images were censored.  ???

Good ol' NOA and their extreme censorship practices. NO BLOOD, NO BOOBS, NO RELIGIOUS REFERENCES—IT'S ALL BAD! WE WOULDN'T WANT TO OFFEND ANYBODY!

Thankfully, they seem to have completely shed all that in the late '90s.

I wouldnt say completely... theyre still way too over protective with their online stuff. All the friendcodes and whatnot

If only people would not listen to or care about when some thin skinned loud mouth is offended by the tiniest of things. If you're offended, don't play the damn game! Don't watch the show/movie! Don't go to the site! Don't shop there! Etc.

Fear of offending people is a critical disease that stumps creativity and quality. There is a huge difference between what today is considered "offensive" and what is truly distasteful. There is indeed a line to be aware of, but its not close to being crossed at all in most cases.

I'm just glad I get to see Dario Argento and Lucio Fulci flicks (among others) uncensored on DVD and Blu-ray. Many horror films were hacked to pieces in the '80s when brought outside of their countries of origin (and many censored just within their own homes).

Actually that was added for the NA release. The original disk used a save function. Weird. Shows how political the religious phobia is in actuality.
