(hope it's ok to have new thread for this)
Looks like the ball's rolling on getting ROB on Virtual Console outside of Japan. Slowly anyways. Heading for Australia, hopefully the US eventually.

I don't play it much on PSP, but I know I'd play it a lot on Virtual Console. I wonder if they'll at least put in subtitles?

FUUUUUUUUUUUU—
Why the hell Australia and not over here? Seriously, Konami.
I already have the Japanese VC version on my Wii anyway, but I'd like to pay for the game and have the English voice acting.
-
Yeah what the hell?! Is this going to be like Terranigma or something?
-
That's a shame if it is Australia only. I'd like to buy it myself, to play fullscreen on my TV.
-
Australia usually means Europe too.. which would make me oh so happy. :D
But Castlevania is still more popular in US than anywhere else, so I doubt Konami would make this PAL only.

Now before you guys raise your pitchforks, this is exactly how Mega Man 9 was discovered, and it was released everywhere. Sometimes this site just gets the trademark first.

Then there would be at least TWO happy guys in Europe then :D
And about popularity.. I love Castlevania just as much as every Castlevania Loving American all togheter :P

I just hope that when they do eventually dub it it's a quality dub.

if it's virtual console instead of wii ware, which i believe it is, i would expect minimal or no changes from the original Japanese. no dub, and perhaps no subs either. do they ever do any translations on the "import" titles?
-
I wouldn't mind having the old voice acting in the game, there's a certain charm to it unmatched by the recent updated voice acting in Drac X Chronicles.
-
Having the option to choose between both would be nice (I can't imagine the audio files taking up much space—they sound so crappy), or having English subtitles for the Japanese and original German intro.
It won't ever happen that way, though.
I just wish there were no regions when it came to downloadable content. (Well, regions in entertainment should disappear, period, but whatever.) If I want to download Japanese Virtual Console games, I should be allowed to do so, legally and officially, on my US Wii.
-
I wouldn't mind them putting the DXC English dub in the VC release as long as they sync up the voices a little better, so that Richter isn't still talking while Dracula is moving his mouth!
But that probably won't happen and it'll probably be Japanese with English subtitles
-
I doubt they'll even do the English subtitles, which is kind of a bummer. DoReMi Fantasy wasn't translated at all. Oh well. I think for Sin and Punishment they may have changed the menu text into English, though.
I just want the game over here already. That and arcade Splatterhouse. Japan gets so many cool downloadable releases...

True but I wouldn't dismiss the option completely it's such a highly anticipated release.

Yeah I agree they could just sub the original game be easy. Which would allow us to understand what exactly is going on. The pieces of the plot that can't be gleened from the video.
