Hello everyone,
I made a Castlevania Piano Medley video which should be especially pleasing for everyone who likes Super Castlevania IV :) If you like, you can watch it here:

Not bad.  I know the first song was the "Theme of Simon Belmont", but what were the others?

I also noticed a CV Adventure track in there too; from stage 3 I do believe. The original theme of Simon had a piano chorus and it is refreshing to hear it once more.  :)

Yeah, "Castlevania: The Adventure" was in there.  Name of the tune is "Darkness" but he has it tagged as "Death Fair".  Neat.

You must be a fan of Theme of Simon to use the tune three times.  Still, well done.  Whenever I heard the key changes I was expecting a new song to come up, and was pleasantly surprised with the selection.

However, you put this thread in the incorrect section.

Hello,
thanks for your feedback!
I indeed am a big fan of the Theme of Simon :) But that's not exactly the reason why it's in there more than once. Do you know Pascal van Stekelenburg's original arrangement of Bloody Tears? It's a real classic:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bj8V_Ky-kxo
His arrangement is "entangled" by a fragment of Simon's theme, so that should explain a lot :)
About Death Fair, AFAIK Konami made a mistake and exchanged the titles of the two pieces in one of their soundtrack collections, so that's why many refer to stage 3 as 'Darkness' whereas it's properly called 'Death Fair'. Also kind of makes sense - The second stage was a dark cave and the third stage was a Death Fair in the truest sense of the word haha (one of the hardest Castlevania stages I've known). The Game Boy CVs have a lot of underappreciated music imho!
The Ninja Gaiden Medley sounds interesting, I would indeed love to hear it as well :)
About sheets, most of the video is played by ear, so there are no sheets. Making a score would also be kind of problematic since in two fragments I used arrangements from other people as a basis, so I would need to get their permission first. Don't expect sheets anytime soon, sorry :(
Many greetings

That was a pretty interesting rendition of Bloody Tears, mixing with a bit of Simon's theme. I think it worked out well.

Incredible! :)

How should we tag the MP3 to give You proper credits on Last.fm?

Hi,
About last.fm, I am actually not really acquainted with that site, so I don't exactly know what to say. Would you post the actual mp3 there? I think the tags in the mp3 posted from Aridale are fine with me (link to the video etc.). But please consider that I also used fragments of arrangements from other people from whom I don't know what they would think.

Oh and while we are at it, let me recommend another fantastic piano video to you:

Wow I just searched "Castlevania Piano" on Youtube two days ago. And saw your videos and favorited it (Happy to see you here after that). I usually do this on Youtube. Because I love Castlevania music.
Also, Verdegrand. You are perfect on "Silence before the Storm (Final Fantasy X)" Have you got original composition? I want to hear them. Please share with us.

Hello,
sorry for my late reply. Thanks for your kind words :) I like "Silence before the Storm" as well, and I also think that's one of my best recordings that I have done. But it's not my arrangement, just to clarify, it's from Vincent Lo, he's an amazing composer and arranger. You can find the link to his website in the infobox of the video.
As for original compositions, I haven't done too many of those so far. That would be something new and I'd have to start from the beginning so the first ones will most probably not be what you might expect. But I'll keep it in mind and start recording some when the time is right. I'd love to do some improv in the future, there are some really amazing improv pianists on YouTube and that's a great inspiration.
Thanks for your time, have a nice weekend :)
