What was the last Castlevania game you played before you saw this topic? How far did you get?
I last played Super Castlevania IV playing the 2nd Quest today in the Dungeon level (this is my third attempt at this stage). I made it to Frankenstein on my last life, but died when he had only one bar left. One more session should do the trick.

OoE, Albus mode hard, fighting Eligor.
-
Super Castlevania IV. I've made it to the dungeon and lost so many times, that i quit it!! :P
-
Right now.... Lament of Innocence... after beating Leons and Joachims Mode -i`m playing as Pumpkin just in this moment... well, just defeated the Undead Parasite..... Golem, here I come!
-
I just finished Haunted Castle and I think next I'm going to pick up Portrait of Ruin or Order of Ecclesia again.
-
Last one I played was SOTN on magic mushrooms hehe. I usually play Cv4, but for some reason SOTN and mushrooms works very well for me for some reason ;)

What's "magic mushrooms"? A hack of some kind? Or did you ingest "magic mushrooms" and thought it'd be fun to play SotN?

congratulations on beating Haunted Castle. i'll probably wait until its available in the states so I don't want to put too much energy into beating an emulated game. i suppose since it was released by Hamster in Japan for PS2, there's always a chance Sony could make it a downloadable PS2 title one of these days?

I didn't realize you could play Albus on hard mode. Cool. I beat Eligor using potions in normal Shanoa mode for "training" purposes, but then I killed myself afterwards because I don't consider using potions "really" beating a boss, and I like to save my potions for the final boss (because I hate final boss battles and just want to get them over with and unlock all that stuff "now").

that first leg of the dungeon is extremely frustrating. it's seems so long and harsh to have to start over at the beginning again.

Pumpkin mode! I abandoned Pumpkin Mode for the time being as I get frustrated in the palace of waterfalls and can never seem to get the lever puzzles right without a strategy guide (and i don't feel like using a strategy guide) and its such a long trek from one part of the puzzle to the next.

I played a few levels of SCV4 lately, and I will probably give Rebirth another go this weekend.

No hack, just "ingested" the actual mushrooms. SOTN is filled with all types of mushroom items to pick up, so it just gets me more in the "spirit" of the game! The Japanese love mushrooms by the way, especially the magical ones!

This morning I played DoS, PoR, & OoE.
Beat DoS Julius mode, Beat Dagon in PoR, & reached the island prison in OoE.
All were replays.

Believe it or not... Harmony of Dissonance this morning, while waiting for the dentist.

I played the Japanese version of SCV4 this morning. Though some say it's harder then the US release I personally don't notice a difference. Maybe it's cause I've played the game so many times over the last decade or so that I've made it my personal b***h! I do remember a long time ago playing SCV4 through and through almost five times just to see how difficult the game could get. It only got harder after the first playthrough. The other times the difficulty was the same.

thanks for letting me know, since i'm trying to beat it on Hard for the first time right now. i didn't think it would incrementally get harder, but didn't know for sure. i know Castlevania (NES), The Adventure, and the Chronicles games get incrementally harder after each playthrough, not sure if there's any others.

Order of Ecclesia

Castlevania the Adventure Rebirth, hard mode. I really love that game. XD

Symphony of the Night, recently reached the Librarian and saved right after entering the Royal Chapel.
-
Just played the original Castlevania, I was on a roll but then that damn Frankenstein Creature messed me up...
-
yeah hell do that. I usually never die on CV1 til I get to him
-
SCIV Japanese was the last I played (yesterday)
Chorus of Mysteries.
I actually own a reproduction cart of this, it's very fun playing on an NES with full functionality :)

Dawn of Sorrow
Wrapped up quite nicely, but getting to play as J,Y,and A awesome ^_^
-
Order of Ecclesia. Nothing quite like playing through Hard Mode with Shanoa at high speed with 2 Death Rings equipped. Man, Eligor has never been more of a p*ssy-whuppin' bitch! You talk about FU-U-U-U-UN SHIT!
