The question says it all. My choice of course for Alucard. As we've seen is SotN, he can hold his own against the Belmonts if he has to. He can bypass enemies by turning into mist. Plus, unlike the heros who are fully human, he doesn't have to worry about growing old. The only problem is that he is one of a kind and is destined to be alone forever. While he could have a family, he doesn't because he doesn't want to extend his cursed bloodline.

Gonna say Alucard simply because he was really the first hero to weild dark powers against Dracula that first made sense and not some random tossed in regergitated power, second it is acceptable for Alucard to be a pretty boy being a dhampir and all and third he is just more badass then a j-rocker, a random tossed in character that never existed before, and a girl with about as much personality as a brick wall even though she is built like a brick house.

I like Soma despite his distinct lack of manly fashion sense. =P

Next thing you know it wil be Castlevania Sleepover of Androgyny where all the boys get together and talk about how dark they are and do eachother's hair after a long day at shopping at express and macys:P
but alas back on topic

I like Shanoa personally. In-game she has lost all of her memories and the ability to feel sympathy. Something about that just seems really badass to me. Plus, I think it's neat that she can just summon weapons and spells out of thin air with the glyphs.
Alucard would be a second because he was an ally to Trevor back in the day, then went on his own quests years later, eventually teaming up with another Belmont (Julius) to help finish things up with his father. He's just legendary like that.
-
Shanoa, because the other three are basically interchangeable.

does Pumpkin count?

Good point he is a jack latern which makes him dark in a sort of halloweenish sort of way.

Wow. Nobody likes Hecter and so far nobody's been violated by a dark priest. My vote goes to Alucard. He was the first dark user on the side of good. I haven't voted for Shanoa but she has my respect as woman combatant.

of course Al is the all time character for any cv gamer....no doubt...but i voted for Hector so he doesn't feel so bad...besides SPOILER: he ended the curse, a hard task for someone alone...and got an awesome girl inviting him to stay over!!!! 8)
Al was all like "gimme a break geekz i'mma out of this shit"....the woman had to go after him, and who knows what happened....for hector we do know.

I'm oddly aroused now... :-[
Anyway, BACK TO TOPIC;
I voted Soma. I think his powers are the most fun, gameplay wise... though his soul absorbing did get old after DoS. I think two games with him were perfect. Wouldn't wanna revisit that stuff again.

Hey! I shop at Express and have long hair, what're you trying to say? :O
-
I have long hair, too! But, I'm broke and only shop at thrift stores. :-[

I voted Shanoa cause she can summon weapons out of nowhere and I gotta show love for the female demon slayers.
And she also has a very sexy back, ohh the things I would do to that ba...... opps kinda went off in a daze there. Well time to go play some OOE.

Actually Im quite the pretty boy myself and also have long gorgeous hair but I am not above poking fun at myself or others like myself. I shop at express when I have extra cash but I prefer buckle. :P

Yeah she does have a very very sexy figure for a toon like i said i would totally hit that with the angry fist of god, but bros before hoes, another tiny reason why i voted for Alucard.

Don't forget about Cornell or Golem. I'd say Cornell second after Alucard.

Well, I forgot about Cornell and Golem isn't a hero. BTW, I don't intend to edit the poll.

He is in Judgment. <_________>

I have a buzzcut and I shop at Neiman Marcus. (Lies)
My favorite is Alucard, by a mile. I prefer the Belmonts over anyone else, but I've always liked the idea of Dracula's son turning against him and becoming a hero. It just sounds like a much better premise than all other dark hero stories they've done since then.

Regardless, I don't think that he has dark powers.
-
Well, I just think of his quote "not all children of the night are evil", and its obvious his powers are dark, born from a curse. But no, they're not "dark generic powers able to conjur just about anything" like powers like the other characters mentioned, so maybe it doesn't count.

I was talking about golem. He is just an artificially created being. He doesn't have any dark powers.
-
oh.

How do you explain that super death beam he has got? And being created from dark magic would that not also mean he is a creature of darkness possessing some ability or degree of dark powers.
Though in all hoensty I think golem is lame, i would have much rathered had frankenstein or "The Creature" as they put it in many of the games so I wont pursue this argument any further.

So really it should be "Favorite hero that can conjor shit up for the sole purpose of gameplay?"
just saying......
