With a Castlevania film in the works for...ever, I was wondering who you guys would cast in various CV roles in a feature film, if you were in charge. Now, I don't know about you guys, but in my opinion, Viggo Mortensen is Dracula.

Not only does he look the part, but I'm convinced he can play the part, too (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0whnAYgGLA).

I really couldn't care. As long as the movie is good (which is very unlikely in my opinion). After all, it has been in the works for years and at least one script has been scrapped. I'm starting to think that is will never be made.

Cool story, bro.

Really!? All I did was complain. The truth is that based on most other movies based off of videogame series, the movies weren't really that good. And if they were, they butchered the series they were based off of.

lmao I KNEW as soon as I saw you were the last poster that youd say somethin along those lines =D
I shall now make mention of my thought that Rob Zombie would make a great Drac. I make sure to mention it everytime a thread like this crops up =P

anyway, that's just me...also casting a film like this isn't something you do it quickly like i did but i kinda liked the results...
also sorry for the big pics, but i believe dial up doesn't even exists anymore, does it?
edit: just to make sure for those who might not know them, from top to the bottom:
Brandon Routh, Skeet Ulrich, Ron Perlman, Sophia Myles, Hugo Weaving, Benicio Del Toro and Daniel Craig.
edit2: Talk about a BIG budget...

First choice for dracula is nice.Viggo is a greatactor, I was also considering Kevin Kline, and of course...
David Bowie

whoa, i swear i was about to post him as death!!!! :o
changed my mind when i saw Daniel Craig and his death "aura"
-
Mia Kirshner (The L-Word) could possibly play Shanoa. Not the greatest actor ever, but she kinda looks the part.

-
with all due respect, it's just not the looks that matter.
-
Yeah, tell that to Hollywood. Buncha' dipshits.
Anyway, Viggo as Drac would be just about the most awesome coup that a studio could pull for a CV movie. I would also strongly push for supporting parts for the likes of Christopher Lee, Alun Armstrong, Tony Todd, Rhona Mitra, and Udo Kier. And I've always thought Casper Van Dien would make a solid Belmont warrior.
-
aside from my vote for myself, i think tobin bell is also a good guy to play any sort of withered deathy/vampiric/wizardy type character. i always really liked the cut of his gib...
on an unrelated note, i also think that tobin bell would play an awesome mr freeze.
i also believe geoffry rush or anthony hopkins can play anything that they dern well please.

indeed my friend....indeed.

I recall EGM actualy speculating on a Castlevania movie cast. One of the funniest ones they had was having David Boreanaz as Richter Belmont. Wish I could remember the rest.
Also I'm suprised no one mentioned Tim Curry! The guy is such a talented actor, and gutsy too. Remember his role in the movie "Legend" He'd do great under makeup. I think he can play any of the antagonistic monsters in the movie.
Edit: I ironicly ran into this image whle searching something else... perhaps he was born to be a Vampire under Dracula. XD

Leonardo DiCaprio as Richter Belmont.

Wait, what?

Of course not, but I don't think Shanoa has any personality whatsoever, hence Mia Kirshner ;D
Anyway, I really like Ben Whishaw, he'd make an excellent Grant DaNasty (the original Grant from CV3, not the Judgment mummification).

Adrian Paul as Eric Lucard
(http://jenniferelliott14.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/highlander.jpg)
-
Does he have to look like a stereotypical espaƱol just because he is from Spain? :-\
-
Spanish aren't near as the stereotype show them, on the contrary, the most of them aren't that tall, thin, blonde/brunette and white colored. (The stereotypical spanish is more an approach to the stereotypical Gipsy, yeah, they are there in Spain, but they are noy a mayority)
However, this guy could make a very good Eric lecarde, he's a very good actor, he'll act in One Piece: The movie (english version :) )
-
I would prefer Eric Lecarde to look a little less manly actually. In the japanese version of Bloodlines he's kinda effeminate, and that's how I picture him. Though he's a bit more masculine in PoR...hm... Judgment doesn't count cause he's a kid there.
I can't decide how I want him to look. :-\ Something inbetween, I guess.
-
Didn't Brandon Routh play Superman? I actually think he could be a good Belmont. He has those sharp and pentrating eyes that scream, "I'm a Belmont. That's my job." (Sorry, I just love that line. Imagine filing for taxes with that job.)
Dracula is one of those roles that would be hell to cast for (no pun intended). I think maybe finding a bunch of nobodies for this kind of film would work best.

Considering I am portuguese (very close to spain in relations) you'd see that even though there is a stereotpye, he none the less fits the appearance, and he's had the experience. Plus he does play the role of ap retty boy many times over the years.
Also... Crissopher Loyd = Ferryman or Librarian.

Oh, he's alive! Or is he? I mean, in the first pic, he IS a severed head on a table! ;D
-
I didn't realize this but he had a good deal of pinkish hue around his eyes in that first pick. Either he's the undead, or simply reliving his burned out druggie "Taxi" character.
In any case, the guy is brilliant, and he can be scary. Only he could turn a cartoon character into disturbing live action villian.
