Title: CV Bloodmoon & Chorus of Mysteries boxes
Post by: crisis on June 03, 2010, 07:49:09 PM
First of all I'd like to thank Dr. Mario & Optomon for creating Chorus of Mysteries, and redrum for creating Bloodmoon, 2 fabulous hacks of our beloved game series. Without their passion none of these would even exist. I'd also like to thank Vince of uncletusk.com for putting in the time & effort in creating these for me. The detail these boxes have is amazing, & I'll be forever grateful to him for even considering my request. Lastly I'd like to thank the folks at gamereproductions.com for providing the actual carts (& the game labels). They play perfectly with no glitches whatsoever.

As far as I know these are the only boxed editions of these rom hacks on earth. I feel somewhat special in knowing that I'm most likely the only one that owns these in this fashion, so I'm eager to share pics with the community for thoughts, criticisms, etc.

The boxes themselves are only slightly taller than any other NES box. The image for Bloodmoon as you know is from the cancelled(?) CV movie, pre-production artwork that's available on the web. I'm unaware of where the Chorus image is from (although Gabriel makes a cameo!)

I've added the plastic & sleeve to give it a more "official" look!

The text was taken from the official Chorus of Mysteries website (http://sites.google.com/site/chorusofmysteries/story), while the text for Bloodmoon basically describes the game's nature as made by redrum.

The translucent casings were provided by the good folks at RetroZone (retrousb.com)

So, 2 great games have been added to my collection, items that I thought I'd never actually own. Once again I give credit & thank all those that were involved; they are extremely skilled at what they do, and I encourage those that haven't played these to try 'em out. They're solid Castlevania games, and will push your skills to the edge!  8)

dude thats FUCKIN AWESOME! I had no idea ppl would basically construct pirate carts by request lol. If those boxes were perfect copies of the official ones youd never be able to tell the difference. How much did it cost?

Relatively cheap. I paid $55 for both boxes, including shipping. The translucent cases were $4 a piece if I recall, & the actual games themselves cost $27 each. But the joy in having these at my disposal=priceless  :)

I really do miss that old Konami boxart design. It's so refreshing to see it again nowadays. My complements to the architect  :D

It would be cool except they're just the movie poster and lords of shadow stuff shopped with gray bars and a logo. Original content related to the actual games would have been much better.

I just got a paper cut. Would you care to sprinkle some lemon juice on it?

Anyhoo, really cool boxes.  Anyone have a link to the hacks?

I'd have to agree with uzo here. I didn't nitice the first time but yes, those are the supposed movie posters. I think you should comission an artist who specializes in that old konami artstyle and get him or her to do the images for those fan games. it would be just that more original.
