What time period do you want the next 2D game to be in?
I say we need a game (or several) that covers the Belmonts hunting vampires for 300 years after Leon's quest. A 2D game featuring Leon himself would be pretty cool (his sprite makes a cameo in PoR, after all). Leon officially establishing his bloodline's future by going after Mathias, only to find other vampire lords reigning as well. Or, his son taking up the mantle, having the burden of fulfilling his father's duty to forever hunt the night.
So many possibilities...

First of all, that wasn't Leon making a cameo in PoR (I assume you're talking about the whip's memory). It was the last Belmont to use the whip. In this case, it was Richter and that is who was making a cameo. As for making a game that takes place during the 300 years between LoI and CV3, I would like to see such a game made, but I think 1999 game should be made first.

Please don't let them disgrace Belmont's Revenge by making it a totally different game.

Remake Simon's Quest - only make it tougher and have it play like the good parts of Zelda II rather than the way Simon's Quest was actually made.

2D AlucardVania! Because IGA is so caring for his SoTN baby, I'm sure he'd whip his team into shape so the game will at least have more effort than usual!

I want IGA to make 1999 game. It′s his idea and he should do it, if he is not already gone from CV team. I hope he is doing something for 3DS. And for the PSP, it would be great to see remake of CV3 with Ayami′s new artwork.

That particular sprite of Leon makes it look like somebody busted up his whip arm real good. :-X Even I couldv'e done a better job and that's no joke.

IGA's dream has always been to make a long and complex 2D Castlevania, I hope we can become a reality and enjoy a 2D game with up to 50 hours of gameplay

I'd rather have another Castlevania like ReBirth in the near future, that game was the most fun I've ever had with a video game in a long long time.

It needs to be the 1999 element. IGA has been putting this one off since AoS and has been making other CV games instead. I have no idea what's going on inside his head but he needs to get his rear in gear!

I could give a shit less tbh. I'm sooo sick of the same recycled sprites and the same 16 bit graphics. Every 2D Castlevania looks and sounds the same and it's getting old fast. They need to completely start from scratch and either make everything 2.5D like Shadow Complex or make everything HD 2D like Street Fighter II HD Remix.
