Which of the castlevania series like most?I like Aria of Sorrow because it was the first castlevania game i played.
-
I started with Vs. Castlevania way back in the arcades at a pool hall for teenagers, used to spend lots of quarters on the game, then I played CV 2 afterwards, bought CV 1 for NES at a pawn shop, then bought part 2 at a video store months later. I then went on to get CV 3 free from a friend of mine who had a spare copy.
-
I have to say PS2 because CoD is my all time favorite Castlevania.
-
no psp, and no xbox, FAIL!
-
NES baby yeah :D
-
CV1...Death FTW :P

No offense, but you must have really low standards and/or are new to the series if CoD is your favorite.
For me, NES all the way.
-
Playstation. Who doesn't love SotN or Castlevania Chronicles?
-
i hate chronicles.

No, I'm not new to the series at all, and actually I do have high standards and CoD EXCEDES them because I see it for what it really is. All of you CoD haters out there just don't realize what a great game it is. You all say, "Oh, its not like SotN," or, "It doesn't 'feel' like Castlevania," so it MUST be bad to you. I, for one, think it feels more like Castlevania more than ANY other game in the series and I thank IGA for making it.
-
Castlevania II because of the atmosphere,
and Portrait of Ruin, becauise it's the most fun I've had with a Castlevania game, and has also lasted the longest.

Hey, if he finds that CoD is a good game, so be it. I wouldn't want anybody to tell me want I should like and what I shouldn't.
-
Agreed. Back beasts, *whip snap*, back! Let the person like what they want to like.
Me, personally, I would say NES.

::)
No one is telling you or him what you should like. It is complete irrelevant, and I really couldn't care less.
I did find it obnoxious of him to blame people themselves for not liking CoD and reasoning that it's only because it's supposedly "...not like Sotn" or "doesn't feel like a Castlevania", basically saying that people bitch too much. There are reasons as to why it is almost unanimously criticized by the community at large. To shrug these reasons off as simply people bitching is pretty ignorant to me.

Well said. And ringo, I couldn't care any less about your worthless opinions.

Uh-huh. And that's still his opinion. For example, he could say Haunted Castle is more innovative than SotN in every way and that we don't see it for what it is- does it matter? No, that'd just be his way of seeing it. Not yours. You can disagree, sure, but just because a game isn't popular doesn't mean that nobody can like it. I'm sure he doesn't care about what the 'community at large' thinks; if he found it fun, then that's all there is to it.
And how is that fact that he believes people don't 'get it' equals blaming you or anyone else? If that's how he feels, well, who cares? Don't take offense to such trivial things.
Anyways, I'm getting OT. PSX ftw!

IGA himself said that CoD doesn't live up to cv standards ::) But whatever.

A lot of rolling eyes in this thread. Those little smiley's eyes must be killing them.

No, it doesn't matter, but it would be like saying that House of the Dead was a more groundbreaking film than Citizen Kane. In other words, completely idiotic. Opinions are used to justify all kinds of stupidity.
Anyway, that's beside the point. I never said he can't like it but he shouldn't be a douche about it. Which makes me a hypocrite because I am also being an ass, I know. Carry on.

Ho, you're wrong about the purpose of opinions. They're to show what people think about something and no one can say someone's opinions are wrong or stupid, but they don't have to like them. Anyway you're beginning to anooy me so I'm not caring anymore >:(

Why? I was just disproving what you said.... Maybe I didn't give it enough time, but I just couldn't like it when I tried it.
CoD was fun, but it had many flaws. I still think its a pretty good game though.

All those arguing over opinions in this thread needs to have a nice cup of stfu, opinions are opinions, respect someone's as you would expect them to respect yours.
Be civil.

I hate to be difficult, but there is no option for my #1 pic, which is CV4 for Super NES. Though as an entire set of CV games for one system, NES has had more consistent "wins" IMO.
But given the options, I went for SotN and the PSX for this poll. But Super CV4 is still #1.

Escactly, so no more arguing!

I went with the Playstation series.
-
Definately Playstation. SotN and Chronicles(my favorite Castlevania EVER) were incredible, and LoI(actually my second favorite CV) and CoD to me felt like more of a Castlevania experience as I'd imagine it than any other CV game. LoI much moreso, but I really enjoyed CoD too. They made Trevor more badass than usual. ;D
-
The ones under Sony's flag.
But I really love all the other ones on other systems as well.
-
Nothing is wrong with CoD. It's a fine game. I still need to finish it to play as Trevor. Byt back on topic I can't way what series I like more. I like them all

I agree COD was fantastic, don't understand all the hatin' the graphics could have been better but castlevania's never been about graphics. That second tower in the woods was major fun and I love the innocent devils. COD had an oldschool feel to it and is the most challenging castlevania I've played in awhile, you can get killed really fast if you don't know what your'e doin. The St. Germaine fight was pretty tough too, right when you think he's dead he keeps comin' back. I like the story too, (only wish we got to see more of Julia as she was crazy hot, but can't have everything), and going through the game in Trevor mode was great, He has some badass attacks.
My fav. series is probably the nes, I've played those the most and they are probably the hardest especially the first one.
Definately Playstation. SotN and Chronicles(my favorite Castlevania EVER) were incredible, and LoI(actually my second favorite CV)
I'm kind of at a loss myself to find what's so great about LOI, it's easy, you can strafe your way out of just about every attack and all the corridors look the same, not to mention I got crazy tired of fighting the bigass guy in the dungeon who gives you the black orb when you kill him. The only level that set itself apart for me from the other ones was the Theatre stage, the rest didn't look that much diff. You kill all five bosses get the vampire killer beat the vampire of the castle in an incredibly easy fight only to find out that your best friend set everything up to get his stone and he becomes dracula. I don't know that just doesn't sound like something that was very thought out, I always pictured drac making a deal with the devil or something and being the first vampire sent to earth to plague it with his kind, not one vampire who got lucky and came across a special stone and decided to give up his name and take a new one which just happened to be Vlad Tepes. That just doesn't feel right to me and I still look at Legends as the first game, and LOI like a Star Wars infinities story or something. And to top it all off, you don't even get to fight him you fight death, a henchman as the final boss fight, which is crazy easy if you use the strafe function you can dodge practically every attack except the fireball one where you have to jump to one side to avoid it, I don't know all in all I was dissappointed by it. There's some fun in it but not nearly as much as COD, I like that game much better, and if someone was gonna buy one of the PS2 one's I def. recommend that one, it really feels like a castlevania game to me and has all sorts of cool weapons to choose from like SOTN.
