So in case people were wondering about this, no I'm not dead I'm still alive and so is the project I have been working on.
Being to only person to work on this project for quite some time now progress has been slow however but it's not like nothing has been achieved.
And by now I wanted some feedback on my latest work so here goes:
Feedback is as always welcome.

All I can say is... it's fucking BEAUTIFUL!
The lighting works way better than it did before, though I sort of like the darkness before... but you couldn't see anything.
Everything looks like it fits there, like a real room, while still maintaining a gameplay stage feel.
All you need now is some lightning to flash, and we got fighting Drac on a rainy day...
Is this still on Jedi Academy? Cuz this look pretty damn professional that you might even want to consider using it as something in a game of your own.
-
It's still being developed on JA yes, I have however looked into different possibilities.
The Quake3 engine is open source and it is possible to squeeze more potential out of it by programming it to
fit my needs. However my knowledge of coding is not sufficient to make that happen thus the most likely case is that
this will be released on JA.
-
Any chance we can get more ss, as it is, we can see everything, but nothing in too much detail.
What does JA use for coding? or is it all drag and drop?
I would think Unity would be a good choice... though you need to learn how to code, but it should be more capable of any thing extra you might add.
-
JA uses C,C+ and C++ for coding, the reason why I decided to stay with JA is because of the already built in sabre system that enables 'realistic' melee fights for an engine of it's kind.
More screens as requested:

I guess, I get the built in system... doubt you an expand much on it, but whatever.
But yea man, Not much more to comment. Looks superb. The only thing is that the main hall infront of teh throne is too barren. Though, what you would put there is beyond me. Maybe a dining table, like SOTN, where the dinning table was in the next room. Or a war table, with a little mini map of transylvania (or some sort of world map anyway), but that's kind of a complicated thing to make look good I would guess.

C+
Good to know it uses languages that DO NOT EXIST.
-
For those that cant tell, this was judgment's keep redone in Don's own image, I for one think the lighting turned out rather nice. from my observations, the keep is SOTN with judgment's layout
-

Hell yes it does, it's more often called Actor-Based Concurrent Language or ABCL for short. It's not that popular but it most defiantly DOES EXIST.
So please do your homework for yelling stuff, why would I make up that sort of thing? :-\
-
C+ doesn't make any sense. Unless you're a programmer, you wouldn't understand that the name "C++" is actually witty inside joke name derived from C's increment operator. ABCL/c+ is a completely unrelated language that has nothing to do with C or C++. C++ is the DIRECT upgrade from C. There is nothing in between. So C+ does not make any sense as a name and is not an actual language.
If you still don't believe me, maybe you'll believe Wikipedia;
There is no language called "C plus". ABCL/c+ was the name of an earlier, unrelated programming language.
Now get back to your own homework, before challenging the teacher.

are you as much of a dick in real life as you are on this forum uzo?

He probably isn't, he probably just hides in his room all day without interacting with anyone... and seriously... talk about the topic and stop being a douche uzo.

Did I ever claim that c+ was an inbetween version of C and C++ ? No I didn't.
Does this have to do anything at all with the current topic discussion? No it does not.
So if you actually have anything useful to say instead of throwing about random crap then say it, else leave this topic and go bother someone who actually cares to listen to you.
-
Yeah, keep it in topic.
This is a serious deviation that serves no purpose other than to troll the poster, regardless of whether it's an error or not.

It's an added explanation, but, it still stands as you listed them in that order. "C+" doesn't exist as "C+". It's ABCL.
And no Jorge, it wasn't meant to be a troll, but then he went and started being a smart ass telling me to do my homework when he clearly did not as Wikipedia can tell you with a 10 second Google search. But whatever, I'm done with this stupid squabble because the opponent clearly has no idea what he's talking about.
-
No, dude, this topic was clearly about the level, and you went in and started spouting off about a programming language. That would be trolling.
Anyway, got any other spots in the castle, you'd like to share, Don?
-
Does anyone else have some feedback on the level design? lighting? etc? input is always welcome during the developement process of a game. sorry we wont be lords of shadow graphically, but it will still be decent looking, tho to be honest this was the first time i saw the level after being rendored, it looks so much different then when its in the editor

If you care to wait maybe a day or two I can show you a fair bit of the castle walls, dungeon and with some luck the arena/Colosseum.
-
OK I said I would do this sooner but I've just been a bit too busy, keep in mind that the screenshots are WIP and anything can be changed here.
Notice how you can barely see anything in them, well in-game you can but everything has a dark atmosphere (exceptions being the living area's, those are brightly lit with candles)

Again feedback is greatly appreciated.

Looks great.
Now I don't know if you can do this or not... but I think it would be cool if you had collapsed skeletons in armor around the Colosseum that awaken as the player's approach. Makes the place feels, again, less barren, while not actually adding more to the scene with pointless items.
Weapon holders would do good in adding to the atmosphere too I'd think.
-
the project is still in desperate need of modellers, Im limited to map models and I cannot make players models, but thats the main reason for it being barren actual lack of models for the time being
-
hmm... I can try. I have like zero skills though.
But do you know how to animate? I mean, modeling doesn't take much effort. It's easy enough to put somethign together, but animation and all that other stuff takes real knowledge.
That said, even if I do do this, I doubt I'll have anything done for a long time...
-
All of the animations are done already, new npc or player models get rigged to pre animated skeletons.
The only thing that needs doing in that process is assigning the right bones. And yeah I know this place still looks barren but I'm still working on it, the place will become much more lively even for a dungeon.
-
Hmm, that's interesting. Well, like i said, I have zero experience with it really. So let's see if I can generate one or 2 models that doesn't look like a jagged piece of crap. Not to mention I never used Blender before... I might just rip 3ds from somewhere to play around with that instead if I can't figure out blender.
-
oh man I HATE blender with the fire of a 1000 suns... Give me Max or nothin at all
-
Yea... I'm finding it not easy to adapt to. I don't know where anythign is... just like Maya. =/
EDIT: man..... fuck blender. Not only do I procrastinate from HW as it is, blender just aggravates me making me feel worst about procrastinating.
-
yeah its like they purposefully made blender as hard to use as possible
-
Hey Don, I see some of the assets I made for you, way back when, are still in the game. Hope you do get to finishing it sometime, I'd still love to play it.
