Hello everyone, I would just like to hear your thoughts on the bandwagon that typically occurs when a new title (especially reboots) come out of a series. For instance, I'm a huge Resident Evil fan and for quite some time many people started to give up on the series, but then came RE4, and with it a whole new wave of fans. I can't tell you how many fans I've come across who have never played the series before RE4 saying that the previous entries were garbage, 4 is the greatest game of all time, it needs more action less horror etc.>and they got it with RE5. I know what it's like to be a huge fan of a series that stays loyal through the good and the bad and it frustrates me when people come along and play the newest entry and have no respect for the old school games.
Are you guys thinking this will happen with CV:LOS? I'm excited for LOS but at the same time I worry that the Castlevania games of old will die out if it's a huge success. I'm aware it's just a clash of opinions between old fans/new fans...you?
-
I'm a huge fan of 4....... and the older ones were okay. 5 wasn't all that interesting to me though.
I'm fine with this stuff... who cares...? really?
-
It's always annoying when noobs come along the bandwagon but it's something we just have to deal with. We were all noobs at one point anyway.
-
If it is good they will come and I am an optimist . . . so yeah we are screwed.
-

I bet you do lol, jk. I thought RE4 was a great game, but it just wasn't Resident Evil. I agree 5 sucked, but that's for another topic. It really wouldn't bother you if people constantly tell you "Dude...have you played this game called Castlevania? It's like God of War meets Devil may Cry" as if it represents the whole series.
The franchise hasn't gained this much universal attention in over a decade. I'll have to see if you're whistling the same tune by the end of the year. Still this is good, you guys are opening up lol. Oh, and I care>thus the creation of this thread :)
-
I should correct myself... I don't care as long as they don't come in thinking that this is where it started. This is what happens to FF, almost every FF7 fan seem to think FF7 was the first FF ever created and that the ones before it were just basically a whole nother series.
It wasn't really resident evil, as they were, I agree. But it was a great game, none the less.

100% Agreed with every word you just said, it was beautiful lol. I assume the movie will also bring more people to the series. I remember when I first heard Paul Anderson was first attached to movie, I thought great, (blank) Belmont will be played by his wife (Milla Jovovich).
There's alot of obvious hatred for him throughout the RE community for the movies, but James Wan...he just might keep the movie true to the games. Like most of you, I have no real problem with LOS or new fans, just ignorant ones.
-
There's a guy on the GameFAQs boards that singlehandedly made me prefer the "new" RE4 fans over the "old" RE1-CV fans, despite the fact that I love both styles, my first Playstation game was RE1, and I consider RE4 just as much RE as the older games. He's one of those dickholes that pisses you off by quoting & responding to every single sentence of your post, and will harass anyone who says RE4 is a good game/scary at any part/has elements of the older games/etc. He also has some shitty Youtube videos that prove he has something wrong with him, but that's irrelevant.
On the other side, I remember the backlash when DXC came out. People who started with one of the Metroidvanias were calling Rondo everything but a video game, and that annoyed me just as bad. I read an especially frustrating review that said at one point: "if this is what Castlevania was before Symphony Of The Night... Castlevania sucked."
Basically, it depends on which side is less annoying, I guess. I've already met a guy who believes LoS is "not Castlevania" simply because it's not being developed by a Japanese team, so we'll see...
-
^ Trust me, I understand where you're coming from. I rarely go to RE forums anymore because everyone is arguing about that exact topic, well now more about 5.
Anyways, you've given two perfect examples of the opposing sides. I for one, love RE4, just not as a "true" RE game in my opinion. I love it, but when people come in and bash the games that started it all...especially in forums filled with *gasp* veteran fans, that's where I draw the line.
In the end it's all about respecting eachother despite our preferences, so hopefully people won't lose control. However, if the LOS style turns out to be the future of all CV games, regardless of how glorious it might be...I could see how there would be quite a bit of rage in the air.
-
If somebody says that LoS is their first introduction to the series and they're interested in what else the series has to offer, ill welcome them, but if they come in here and bash the rest of the series for not being like LoS then they can get the hell out. I don't think this is the kind of place for LoS fans, but a place for castlevania fans and those looking to get into the series.
-
That's weird, I never thought much of RE 4 and RE 5. They fit very well with the other games.
-
I'm actually a fairly new fan. I didn't get into the series until I played Harmony of Dissonance a few years ago. And then my fandom secured itself when I got Order of Ecclesia after that. I've actually played a few Castlevanias before even playing HoD, but none of them hooked me like that one did. My first Castlevania was actually CV64, which I enjoyed but didn't turn me into a fan of the series as a whole. Then I played CotM when it came out and hated it, which kind of turned me off for the series as a whole. A few years later I borrowed Lament of Innocence from my friend, and again it didn't hook me. A few years go by and I get into an in-depth conversation with my friend about the series and it inspires me to give the series one more try. This was about the time Order of Ecclesia either just came out or was about to come out. I went out to gamestop and found Harmony of Dissonance, so I bought that. I tried it and LOVED it. Couldn't stop playing. Finished that, went out and got Circle of the Moon, which I played before and didn't like, but this time around I liked it a bit more. After that I downloaded Castlevania IV on Wii's Virtual Console, which I also really enjoyed. Throughout the last 3 years I've played nearly every single CV game and have enjoyed every single entry I have played. With that all being said, I am extremely excited for Lords of Shadow, and I am not a bandwagon jumper. I truly love the series, and as long as they keep pumping out awesome games, I will remain a fan. I'm sure a ton of people will be bandwagon jumpers after this entry, and that's fine. A good percentage will most likely dig out the root of the series and become even bigger fans. So the more the better!

about FF is diffiicult to explain, cause in europe the 1st ff we had was 7, so a lot of people discovered it for 7 like i did, that doesnt means we think 7 was the only one, i personally have beaten every numeric FF, even XI and all his 4 expansions(not X-2, i only saw the intro and stopped there, but i have it) and i can say that for me 6 was the best with no doubt, but i feel something special for the 7 one, cause it was the door i took to enter in the franchise.
I think thas LoS can be something similar to a lot of people who doesnt know nothing about castlevania and it will open the franchise to they, of course there will be LoS fanboys... you and me know that xD there are always closed mind fanboys for everything.
Back to FF, i was thinking these days that it could be really nice that SE do something similar to konami , and give a western team the chance of work in a ff, doing something like Dragon Age just to refresh concepts, i know it will never happen but dreaming is free D:

I hate to say, considering how much I'm in favor of LoS, but Final Fantasy can't be rebooted, much less by an American company. If it was, well, it wouldn't be Final Fantasy. There's something about every game being so distinctly Japanese and having everything outside the plot and battle system be the exactly same (e.g. chocobos, moogles, cactuars, cid, airships, magic spells, summons, weapons) that makes it Final Fantasy. It's been the same for so long, I wouldn't be able to touch it.
Castlevania has never had one singular identity. The NES games felt different from the Rondo and Dracula X, those felt different from SCV IV, those felt different from from the N64 games, those felt different from SotN, and so on and so forth. The only time when Castlevania kind of jumped into a singular style was post SotN.
That's why I hate FF bandwagon jumpers, but really wouldn't mind LoS jumpers. Final Fantasy has never really changed, so don't act like FF7 started everything. On the other hand, Castlevania is always morphing, so while maybe LoS is (arguably) more drastic than other changes, it's nothing new that the series has morphed like this.
-
You could think of The Last Story as a Final Fantasy reboot, which is what I'm doing.
-
for me 7 started my way on ff , no problem with that. remember that even in america u miss several games, your 3 was really 6, so a lot of people can easily take his 1st contact with ff in 6th chapter, i highly doubt that all superhardcore fans who stayed in the wagon, started with original one in 1986.
And yes ff changed, ff is not ff without uematsu, and its not ff without sakaguchi. Lost odyssey is much more ff than x2, xii and xiii together.even X suked hard and it has chocobos and several links to other chapters.
Anyways any western studio can introduce a Cid char, chocobos, airships, weapons names same way than SE did, just was my tough that it can be really interesting a western FF, but yes the most of FF fanboys who loves "teenagers androgines that play beachboley" as main char, emostoryes etc may hate this idea and prefer replay lolXIII over and over, and SE will never have courage to do it.
Dont get mad about it, you know we will never see a mature western ff.was only a tought that i wanted to share.
PD. yes looking forward on Last story

I'm not mad *shrug* I'm just stating an opinion.
I did start with FF1, and I actually like FFX, FFXII, and FFXIII, and while they did change some game mechanics and such, I still look at it and go "FF has never really changed." The plots are always about crystals, and summons, and Bahamut, and a magical girl, and a teenage boy with a sword, and an experienced older man, and a half-crazy villain with ridiculous hair, and a world of magically powered technology, and so on and so forth. Some may have taken the magic-tech further than others, but it still feels the same. I just don't get tired of it.
I'm hyped for Last Story. I'm looking at it as the FINAL Fantasy, only he couldn't call it that because Sakaguchi isn't with Square-Enix anymore.
EDIT: But back on topic, bandwagoners really don't bother me. Not with Resident Evil, not with Castlevania, and only with FF7 because the fanboys are twats. I think Castlevania could use some new fans, and whether they sit there going "Lords of Shadow is the best gaem evar!" or "Hmm, this is good, let's try the older Castlevanias" I could care less.
-
I don't think you can ever reboot FF cause it's always a new story with different characters, minus all the Cids and Moogles n' stuff. Of course the moogles didn't show up till FF5 for the first time and Cid didn't make his appearence until FF2 japan. And Biggs and wedge we're introduced in FF6 (I believe think they were put in there due to the success of Starwars). I myself will never be a bandwagon jumper cause that's just plain wrong with me. I will however, get LoS when it comes out.

Yeah, I really hate those FF fanboys who think VII started it all. The first FF I played was Tactics, and I actually find it a lot better then VII, in terms of plot and characters. Then I played IV, X, XII, Crisis Core, and XIII, which are also pretty good. Crisis Core, despite it being one of the many games in the FF VII Compilation, was really worth playing (and making), because unlike the silly sequel titles, it told the the story of Zack Fair extremely well, not to mention, it made me even cry at the end, plus the new characters had more personality than Cloud and Sephiroth put together.
As for Castlevania, I really don't care if people bandwagon on LoS, as long as they don't act like the 1997 fanboys who think SoTN is where it all started and refuse to play the older games, because like what RegalX7 said-CV before that sucked. Resident Evil, however, I don't really mind people bandwagoning, even though 5 was a huge disappointment compared to 4, which was awesome (3 is still my favorite, though).

Yea same here, whenever a new game comes out in a series I never followed, I have to play all the previous games before the latest one. Otherwise, I just feel like it's watching a movie halfway through, even if it's a reboot. I will also get LOS, even the collector's edition, just because I've been waiting a very long time for another CV game on a home console. Also, a man named Sir Patrick Stewart persuaded me.
-
First FF I played was 6, then 7, then 8 then tactics. But I like Tactics, 8, 6 then 7... I still this 7 has a crap story, but the materia/combat system was pretty awesome.
I myself find it hard to get into the older FFs myself. But I know lots of other people enjoy 4 ALOT. Which is fine... but the ones I'm thinking of are the ones who pretty much refuse to try the other games, and jus go on about how awesome 7 was.... like it started the jRPG Genre or FF Series. While I don't think ignorance is a horrible excuse, it's hard to be ignorant of the other games considering how much FF exposure everywhere.
Now, to tie it up with LoS, I'm just hoping people don't jump in and go OMG, LoS is what Castlevania really is! blah blah blah, the older ones are just metroid remakes or something incredibly stupid like that.
-
I started with Castlevania I and FF I, both those games were the reason I continued with their respective series for the most part. As far as FF goes, VII was the last one I really played, and I loved it. But the series did start changing after that. The characters got a lot deeper, and that turned me off because I simply didnt care for them. It was becoming too much of a japanese love story to me. Understand that growing up, a lot of what drew us to the games was the artwork in magazines and the games had a different feel. Seeing these characters finally come to life, getting their own image on the PSX was cool but I didnt like what they became. The old games you had these warriors, the new games you have these supermodel metrosexuals. No thanks! But the kids loved it and the series never really looked back.
Castlevania really went the same way for me. Up to CV IV, it was getting better each time. CV64 was ok at the time but it helped me realize 2D was what I liked for the series. Then SotN came out, and much like FFVII, it was amazing. But then the anime style took over, and for me the series went to shit. Every game was a metroidvania, I didnt care for the characters, just wasnt drawn to them. looking at the cover art, I thought the heros were Dracula, they were pale, looked like vampires. But they kept coming out, and im sure the kids didnt care for the old school games. DXC was the last CV I really enjoyed, I couldnt put it down. Lords of Shadow is gonna change everything again, I hope for the better. Only thing im worried about is how much of a Castlevania game it will really be
-
Of course the moogles didn't show up till FF5
FF3 was their first appearance, not FF5.
On topic, I don't think the FF7 Bandwagoners are as annoying as the people that always make every conversation about the game a FF6 VS FF7 debate. Its like people think you can't like both.
As far as new CV fans not liking classic titles, I used to be like that too. I never cared for platformers such a sonic, megaman, or the old Castlevanias, but after loving the metroidvanias I went back and tried the 2D classics with a more open mind, and found that I loved the old style even better. So perhaps Lords of Shadow might help people discover the older games like Dawn did for me.
-
FF3 was their first appearance, not FF5.
FF3 US is actually FF6 japan. When the games we ported over to the west, several games we cut from the series. Here's a list:
FF1 US. FF1 Japan
FF2 (didn't import) FF2 Japan
FF3 (didn't import) FF3 Japan
FF4 (Became FF2 US) FF4 Japan
FF5 (Didn't import) FF5 Japan
FF6 (Became FF3 US) FF6 Japan
Then once FF7 came out they decided to stick with the proper numaricals from then-on. And later, Square-Enix would give us all the old FF titles in their proper numarical orders.

But Final Fantasy 3 (Japanese version) is the first game with moogles. They're in Dorga's house (I think they call him Doga in the DS version, but I never played that version, so I'm not sure... Same thing, basically, anyway). He wasn't referring to Final Fantasy 6.
-
Yes. Besides, we are SOOOOO past the whole "FFIV jp= FF2 US/FFVI jp= FF3 USA". I mean, come on. They've released ALL the FF games, under their REAL numbers since FF Chronicles and FF Anthology(of the PS1). Since then, every game has been numbered accordingly and that numbering's been well known to all. There's no point bringing up the whole SNES differences because of that. We DID get FFIII, for the DS, and it's a remake of the ORIGINAL Famicon FFIII.
-
I wish theyd remake FF6 for DS like they did FF4
-
I wish theyd remake FF6 for DS like they did FF4
I wish they didn't... I wish they'd do a real big job on it. Like how the FF7 tech demo looked.
-
I wish they didn't... I wish they'd do a real big job on it. Like how the FF7 tech demo looked.
Square made a note that if the 3DS does good, they are going to remake FFV and FFVI for that. From what we've seen, 3DS looks to be as powerful as PSP, or might even push itself past that(early 3DS footage seems to be up to par with late-PSP game footage). So, we might get a FFV and FFVI that has graphics better than Dissidia, Crisis Core, Agito and 3rd Birthday, and in 3D!!!
Though yeah, if I could have my way, I'd MAKE Square do the FFVI remake on PS3. Though, considering they keep on complaining would take 20 years just to make FFVII as a full sized game with Crystal Tools, it's probably hopeless to want a FFVI remake(which unlike FFVII, basically has TWO world maps to render in highly detailed 3D). Though, if there's any silver lining, Kitase basically said they are getting the feel of programming with Crystal Tools, and that because of that, FFXV's development time might be considerably SHORTER than FFXIII's(and Versus).
-
if they wanted to do they could do it thats for sure... I dunno why they dont wanna do anythin with 6. Ppl with common sense all say that 6 is the best FF yet but its like Squares afraid of it. They just keep goin back to 7 or makin new shit no one wants to play or remakin the first 5 games over and over

I thought this was a Castlevania thread, within a Castlevania Discussion section, on a Castlevania forum.

I thought this was a Castlevania thread, within a Castlevania Discussion section, on a Castlevania forum.
Yes... and you'd expect a post that would add to the thread instead of just condemning other people.
Sides, it's on teh subject of bandwagon of CV, this is just talking another bandwagon. It'll eventually go back to CV.
-
I think newbies and veterans can be equally annoying. If someone comes in here acting like LoS was the first Castlevania ever, or the only Castlevania worth playing I would be annoyed, sure. But the very same thing happens everytime a "hardcore fan" comes here saying that every Castlevania post SotN sucks. I honestly don't know which one I dislike the most... I mean, everyone has the right to their own opinion, but many of them claim that they know what's a "real" Castlevania and what isn't. Like someone already say, Castlevania is many different things and is constantly changing.
-
I'll take Super Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, Super Castlevania IV, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. :D
Those are the cream of the crop, in all three variations of the formula.
EDIT:
I just thought of something.
Perhaps Konami (or maybe Iga?) is staying away from remaking Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, the same way that Square-Enix is staying away from remaking Final Fantasy VI. They're both top-notch games that carry a bit of a legacy to them, and perhaps they do not want to tarnish the memory of such games unless they take great care of it.
By this logic, Final Fantasy VII and Symphony of the Night are the "Cheap hooker" version. Yes, they're damn hot and awesome, but they've spent many games trying recapture that same feeling... and not quite reaching it.
Then again, maybe these are just my musings. Just my opinion, I could be wrong. :P
-
That's really interesting you brought up the comparisons. They seem right on the money. After FFVII, Square tried to re-capture the "spirit" of that game by making FF MORE cinematic and MORE story-driven(with the exception of the MMORPG FFs, like FFXI and FFXIV), and because of that, we got FFXIII, which many have complained about as being too linear and lacking the amount of exploration seen in earlier titles. SotN's similar, the catalyst to whoring out the castletroid formula, and even though both were probably in good intentions(FF's cinematic ideas and CV's working of the castletroid formula), they never struck the effect that hoped for. Hell, the FFVII compilations, hoping to draw interest in FFVII's world once again, was totally lackluster. Crisis Core was probably the best game of the compilation, yet is still extremely lackluster to most other games in general.
Interestingly enough, both games(SotN and FFVII) came out in 1997. ;D
-

If I was trapped on an island, i'd take only those games with me.
Super Castlevania III sounds awesome by the way =D

That's indeed true... a real fan would accept what's good and what's bad... and have reason for it.
Reply to #33
Yea, those are favorites as well... and I guess I can agree with your assessment... but I doubt they think that highly of FF6. FF7 is their bread and butter and they tried to milk it for all it's worth. Some of the game's spinoff were pretty decent though, from what I've heard. Not awesome by any means, but decent... and maybe even awesome for the "hardcore" fans of FF7. But I think they would've done a fine job if they follow through with that awesome tech demo of FF7 into a real game. I mean, even I wanted more and I'm not even a big fan of FF7. (though I'd be even more hooked if it were my fav ffs)
However, FF6 and the games before it are just getting small remakes/ports to spur on what little known fans of those games. So, I doubt they'll try much more on them.
Iga might be avoiding them because he wants a game completely of his own that is viewed as awesome as CV3 or SotN. Because if he remakes those, it's would seem that it's all based on how the fans think of the games and wil buy it for that rather than it's a cv game he made. Like riding a wave, rather than making his own.
-
I think at this point in time, a remade Dracula's Curse just wouldn't sell very well.. dunno, it's just a feeling I have. I think that's why it's not coming. If Konami ever decides to remake it, they're probably gonna use pretty much the same engine and graphics found in The Adventure Rebirth. I could do without that. :(
Speaking of the Final Fantasy remakes, I'm playing Final Fantasy 4 on the DS as we speak. The remake is pretty faithful, but the graphical overhaul is really ambitious, if somewhat rough. I don't necessarily like it, but at least it's not just a quick cash-in. Game is much harder than the original too. I keep dying on some of the bosses a lot :( Final Fantasy 6 is my favourite in the series but I don't know if I wanna see it remade in this style... I think the original looked pretty darned perfect the way it was. Dunno. I'm getting more and more sceptical about remakes. I didn't like what Capcom did with Mega Man Maverick Hunter X, nor did I care for Mega Man Powered Up either.
-
I loved Maverick Hunter X. I was really hoping for more but nothing! The anime cutscenes and stuff though, I can do without. Game was awesome though. I'd rather a console remake though.
-
My main problem with Maverick Hunter X was the remixed music and the annoyingly loud footstep sfx. More importantly, the controls weren't nearly as good as in the SNES original. I blame the PSP for that though, not Capcom. Or maybe I just sucked at playing, dunno. Other than that, it was faithful enough, but the SNES version... omg that game is effin sex in my book. ;D
-
Castlevania Legends remake would be nice, something to fit into canon at least.

screw Legends, Resurrection all the way!

That's some hideous character designs. Considering how hot Sonia was in anime form, human version just didn't do her justice.
-
That's some hideous character designs. Considering how hot Sonia was in anime form, human version just didn't do her justice.
So agree here!
Not to mention the story sounded stupid as hell. Renegade belmot goes rogue and becomes a mercenary while someone summons Sonia from the past to help with the vampire threat ...? >.>
-
The thing I found stupid was the whole, "A time when there was no Belmont, so a Belmont of the past and a Belmont of the future were mysteriously PULLED from their own respected times by the forces of balance, or some shit like that, into a decade or so BEFORE Simon Belmont". Well, obviously a Belmont HAD to have been in existence during that time considering that Simon had to come from SOMEWHERE, as well as had there NEVER been a Belmont, then Victor would've never existed either. It seemed like sloppy time traveling crap. I mean, they did something like that with Judgement, and nobody takes that game seriously. But that wasn't a REAL CV game to begin with. This was was to be more traditional, yet, urgh.... WHY!?! Why resort to the horrid "time travel" plot?! Why couldn't they just set the game prior to Simon, like it was set already, and have the main characters twin brother and sister Belmonts. By that, you have a guy AND a girl, and you can do what the hell you want with that. Or, just go for it and set it back in Sonia's time. How many things have been RUINED by time travel done wrong? It's like the Resurrection team just got done playing Chrono Trigger and said, "There's some cool things in this game, particularly time travel and some 'entity' that brings heroes together. Let's apply that to Castlevania!!". Some ideas in the world are NEVER good. For instance, MTV's reimagining of Rocky Horror Picture Show is another. I mean, a hip hop version of the Time Warp? Who ever thought that one up(some executive twat) should be strung up by their pinky toes!

Hi everyone and thanks REMaster for this topic.
About what crisis said, he's right : but when we entered the video games world in 1990, we are less "noobs" than when we discovered video games in 2001 or 2002...
Personally, I consider myself as a "noob" of actual video games generation. I don't play any FPS, soccer game, actual RPG and wargames, and I don't play either sport and car games. As you can guess, a very few actual games are interesting for me ! Just hardcore games, like Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry for example.
About RE4, here is my point of view : I played all bio hazard games, even recent railshot, except for Outbreak. Good games, very enjoyable. My best was the first. But RE4 was such a great experience, that I loved it. RE5 was less interesting because it was way too easy, but still a good game with less RE inside.

DragonSlayr, the developers of the game honestly thought Sonia was from the 1600's. I swear. Though I suppose that would be a good thing since if they would write Sonia back into the canon they should place her in a different time period anyway.
-
The thing I found stupid was the whole, "A time when there was no Belmont
Oh, don't I know it too! Yeah, they weren't thinking straight when they penned this out, were they? A belmont from the past and future were sent to a period in time when NO Belmonts existed..? Really?? That's one hell of a paradox we got here! No Belmont from the future could exist if there was no Belmont from the current time to fill the roll. And since there was a Belmont from the past then the current timeframe would naturally have a belmont in it, and round, and round, and round we go-- God christ, beat the writer with an intelegence stick.

Resurrection was a terrible game, according to what I've seen and read. Not sad it got canned. The art director was a pompous douche too.

I loved Maverick Hunter X. I was really hoping for more but nothing! The anime cutscenes and stuff though, I can do without. Game was awesome though. I'd rather a console remake though.
Same here. I really wish Capcom would continue MHX, because it finally seemed like all those plotholes in the X series would be filled in. And speaking of Capcom, am I the only one who wants them to remake the Breath of Fire games on the 3DS? Because, seriously, III was the first RPG I've ever played, and to see that remade would be awesome in my book. The PSP port was just a waste, IMO.
Castlevania Legends remake would be nice, something to fit into canon at least.
That would be pretty neat. Instead of completely removing her from canon, IGA should just revamp Sonia's story and put her into a different time period so that she could fit into the timeline.

IGA won't dare touch her character with a 100 Kilometre pole >:(

I think the Dave Cox should be the one to reinstate Sonia, because she could be Gabriel's future wife or cousin, and he would just do a better job unlike sexist IGA. Oh yes, a Cox-controlled Sonia would make me & many fans happier, unlike IGA who makes life miserable >=(
-
I think reinstating a non-character in a non-canon game is kind off missing the point.

Oh god... I would hate this. I don't want her to become some sub character in another's story.

I definitly do NOT want to see Sonia Belmont being reduced to a "Sub-character". It's just not right. She deserves waaaay more credit then Konami gave her to start with and even Mooooore recognition then IGA would ever allow.

Am I the only one who just doesn't like Sonia that much? When Belmonts have the character depth of paper, it's hard to get excited about a character with as cruddy a sprite as hers :^/
-
I didn't really dig her design either. If she were in a new game, she'd really have look like a totally different character for me to be happy, but then it'll be like, why not just make a new character? Well, I guess it wouldn't be that hard since they could just keep the blonde ponytail.
-
Thernz could you then please clarify why you rated my sig with a 9/10 along with the statement that "Sonia Belmont was quite something".
-
I lied.
I guess I exaggerated a bit about hating her design. It's just okay. Most of the hate comes from the anime.
