I'd love to see your game series collections, including both actual games and merchandise. Here's two pictures of my Resident Evil collection, one is old and the other is from about a year ago. I've added quite a few more things since than but I've been slacking off a bit as of late.

I would post my Castlevania collection, but the internet would explode.
I used to have so much gaming stuff back in the day, but most of it has been lost/sold throughout the years. Maybe I'll take pics later.
-
I have no pictures of my collection, but I do have a list (would make this post extra long trust me), covering 12 systems, 16 or so is Wiiware or Virtual Console, the other 760+ is real carts or CD's (irrelevant numbers now). Get ready for the longest post I've ever had in all my years here.

I'mma gonna take some pictures for this, whenever I find the time. I have a reasonably large collection.. Lots of good stuff, lots of bad stuff, and some stuff inbetween :) Not a lot of merchandise though :-\
Also; Very impressive collections you got there, both of you!

Added game #788-791 today, Puyo Puyo Tsu for my Sega Saturn. I had Robotniks Mean Bean Machine and Kirby's Avalanche, but both are bastardized Puyo Puyo 1's for Genesis and SNES respectively. This one is my first real Puyo Puyo title unaltered, also want the Magical Drop games on PSX and Saturn if I can possibly snag them sometime in the future.
Got Wii points and picked up Ufouria NES, Bomberman 93 TG-16, and Bonk 3.

One day I'll probably type up a Notepad text file of all the games I own. I can't stand any of the video game collection management websites I've seen; there's nothing like DVD Aficionado or Discogs for the gaming realm, that I can tell.
I may take pictures of my room soon, though. I have an immense amount of crapola I've paid for throughout the years, and it's all piled up into this teeny-tiny room in my parents' basement, lol. I'm running out of space; I used to have my DVDs and such all nicely organized, but there's no point in doing so anymore 'cos I have no space to store everything neatly.

As promised, here's my collection of gaming stuff:
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv119%2Fc0mbat%2Fcollections%2FCIMG0025.jpg&hash=50dc851f56200fc8a15989711af686e2a85be49f)
My current setup. You can probably tell what systems are on there.
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv119%2Fc0mbat%2Fcollections%2FCIMG0026.jpg&hash=2ed1c0b31ce413d8e4c38f55ad9b8e665fa80ac1)
The system that SCIV is on is a "Retro Duo." It plays both NES & SNES games. There's also a version that includes Genesis playability, fyi. The 3 games to the right are Brave Fencer Musashi, Samurai Legend Musashi (1st one was better imo), & Final Fantasy Tactics. I forgot to include some PS2 games, which are Shinobi, it's sequel/spinoff Nightshade, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Outbreak, & Devil May Cry 3.
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv119%2Fc0mbat%2Fcollections%2FCIMG0027-1.jpg&hash=3bffb926749a25bcb201952653c4007637666c1f)
Some NES games..
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv119%2Fc0mbat%2Fcollections%2FCIMG0020.jpg&hash=96fbf5fd5cf5c90a30199800ad70ca674c314328)
Some handhelds I've come across during my travels.. 2 WonderSwans, 2 GameParks, & 2 PSP's (yes, I have a GO, lol). The system that's cut off on the top right is a NeoGeo Pocket Color. The original PSP is modded to play everything, of course.
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv119%2Fc0mbat%2Fcollections%2FCIMG0021.jpg&hash=cda89739b05e0e0600e24e85383612d8338c092f)
My GameBoy collection; Limited Edition "Ice Blue" Pocket, a GameBoy Light (excellent when playing Belmont's Revenge in a dark room), a DS Lite which no longer functions, a DSi, an SP, another Pocket, & 2 Micro's. Weird, huh?
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv119%2Fc0mbat%2Fcollections%2FCIMG0023.jpg&hash=5fc2512f0e8807b7bf3fce5a66a111656ccf9eb7)
A Tapwave Zodiac, & 2 other odd handhelds I found. The Zodiac can be emulated to play SNES/Genesis games. Those other two have "built-in" original games.
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv119%2Fc0mbat%2Fcollections%2FCIMG0028.jpg&hash=be47c63a4308e51092c02f6a78692ddb82ac02b7)
Some more games. Don't ask me why I have 2 Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max's. The games to the right are Final Fantasy for the WonderSwan, & Little Wizard for the GamePark (a fighting game).
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv119%2Fc0mbat%2Fcollections%2FCIMG0030.jpg&hash=38a017fcc5950209e293f0746a36cae83fa637fd)
Last remaining PS-X games that are still in-tact, and a DC game.
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv119%2Fc0mbat%2Fcollections%2FCIMG0031.jpg&hash=4b88cf79daa1c36c6305ef00f26bcad851b9e42f)

Some GBA games. One to the far left is "Guilty Gear Petit" for WonderSwan. This picture is missing Metroid Zero Mission & MegaMan Zero 4. Jorge probably stole them... also not pictured is Match of the Millenium: SNK vs. Capcom, Gal's Fighters, King of Fighters R2, & Metal Slug 2nd Mission, all for the NGPC.

A 60GB PS3, Dreamcast, N64 & SNES. They are still functional.
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv119%2Fc0mbat%2Fcollections%2FCIMG0032.jpg&hash=f4bf8951625e833744805366c64964996710bdb7)
Last but not least, Mario's Cement Factory, an oooold TableTop from the late 80's/early 90's. Very primitive, but still works!!
And that's it. All the handhelds shown are equipped with screen guards to protect from scratches, STD's, things of that nature. I'm pretty sure I have an old Sega Master System, but it's gotta be in my attic somewhere, so it's not worth digging around for it. There's also an original GameBoy up there, too. You know how that goes~
I'm hesitant to post my Ultimate Castlevania Collection, because I might get banned. I love posting here too much.

That is pretty much all of it. GBA games are in little cases and my handhelds are in another area with game accessories.
edit: Just realized this is a pretty dated pic. I have like twice the ps3 games and 3 or 4 more wii games. Also I built the shelf/bed myself and there is an area underneath with some game posters. Also the black case has a ton of ps1 games in it and I am not listing the vc or ps3 games since I am just showing my general setup and not the entire collection or contents.

Bought a few more games tonight, inlcuding a second copy of Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 by mistake (d'oh), also saw a copy of Duck Tales 2 GB in the wild, a week or two after my copy off ebay arrived (another D'OH). Game collection now at 802.

Reminds me of my Donkey Kong table top I had as a kid. That thing was awesome. Wish I still had it. :(
Okay...here's my stuff. I apologize in advance for all the glare...I'm kind of an idiot with a camera. I also forgot to include my N64 games, but I only have like 12 of them anyway.
The three...okay...two most used consoles in my house right now:

EDIT: I forgot about my Judgment lithograph, the Belmont Legacy TPB, and my Nintendo Power with SCVIV on the cover.
...so there's all of my games collection, minus strategy guides and old Nintendo Power mags (and a few games I'm playing at the moment). It's not as big as my CD collection, but it puts both my comic and movie collections to shame. 8)

whoops, hit quote not edit.

Bloodreign, why won't you post pics of your massive collection?
Couple few reasons:
1) No camera
2) very busy
3) collection is organized a certain way, but not in a specific system order. Taking everything down would take quite a while, and then putting it back up would take even longer, covered also by reason 2.

OK, so several months ago I took a buncha photos of my room on my crummy camera phone. I just threw 'em up on Flickr, so enjoy looking at my display of nerdy garbage, ha ha. There are video games in a few of the pics... Ha ha
Since this is several months old, there's actually a lot more items now cluttering my small living space.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/43887468@N02/sets/72157625029779127/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/43887468@N02/sets/72157625029779127/)
Actually, many of my games aren't even in my room. All my Wii, PS3, and 360 stuff is in the living room.

Here are my DVDs on the left, the right shelf holds Band/Music DVDs on the top shelf with Xbox360 games on the next shelf down. The rest are PS2 games. The Bottom shelf has some more PS2 games, and my Wii and Gamecube collection.
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi11.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fa187%2FShinAkumaXX%2FIMG_1370.jpg&hash=fc60d4cd36081e3993a457d53cb5dcb5d5b6fa2e)
The left shelf has my Sega Saturn import/US games, then Dreamacast games, Video Game Soundtracks, SNES carts, PS1 games, my 2 Turbo Duo games, Dracula X and Ys 1 & 2. The right shelf is CDs, with my NES carts on top. Looks like my Les Paul snuck in too, my marshall amp is next to that, but I guess that doesn't fall into game collection...
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi11.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fa187%2FShinAkumaXX%2FIMG_1371.jpg&hash=21c71df5e3fb447e8f3987be274352a82eec68fb)
Here's my main setup. Samsun 42 Plasma. My JVC 5 channel Surround sound system with Yamaha front speakers. Red 360. Black Wii with my wavebird censor plugged in. On top of the right speaker is my Dreamcast VGA box. There's my turntable too. And Upconvert DVD player.
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi11.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fa187%2FShinAkumaXX%2FIMG_1373.jpg&hash=bf75abc6387193cdbb55a2a73acc5edb7e49029e)
My Sony 32 Trinitron 1080i CRT TV. On the shelf my mini SNES, mini NES, Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, and PS2 slim, my mini Genesis, and Turbo Duo are both packed away in a box. I downloaded both the games I have on Turbo Duo on Wii Virtual Console, so don't get it out much. The only game I got a genesis for was Bloodlines. I also have lots of the boxes and instructions for my SNES and NES games. They are packed away though. I have them for Castlevania 1-4, Bloodlines. Maybe I will post those later. Of course there's other game stuff, memorabilia, posters and the like not pictured. My PC games are in my computer desk. My PC would coutn

Couple more games picked up recently on the cheap:
Chiki Chiki Boys -Genesis- Fun little platformer from Capcom, Sega did the Genesis port themselves.
Raycrisis - PSX- (Japanese version) last game in the Ray series (Ray Force, Ray Storm, Ray Crisis) prequel to Ray Force, the first game. Lock on to targets and shoot them in this shmup, plus you get a nice screen clearing bomb.

Update, picked up a super nice 'Tech Gear' TV stand, for 10 bucks on Craigslist, this think had to be 100-150 new, it's made of mega nice material with glass doors, and it swivels. I also picked up a gamecube. A local game store had the official nintendo gamecube component cable for 20 bucks, a HUGE bargain, and I went to another location to track down a cube with the actual output for the cable 15 bucks more, and then needed a power supply, 5 bucks. so 40 on the gamecube, but considering I saw people spending that or more on the Component cable alone on eBay, I'm cool with my spend. I'm glad to add a system to actually put the TV to use! I'm usually on my 360 on the plasma. So, with PS2 hooked up component, Gamecube hooked up Compenet, and Dreamcast S Vid. It's not a bad 100 buck TV plus 10 for the stand to have in a corner.

New retro gaming store opened here in my area, passed by today, picked up 13 games, their prices are stiff, but I found a few hard to find games, 13 bought in total. Now up to 817 games, too lazy to list what they are, some for NES, 2 for GB, 1 for Genesis, 1 for SNES, and 1 for PSX (a BIG BIG one too).
-
I'm dying to see what your collection looks like!

The only stores around me that sell retro games unfortunately know what some of them are worth. The problem is they charge the same price whether it's in shitty condition, or like brand new. I saw they finally had Tactics Ogre the other day, for $80.00. With NO INSTRUCTIONS! Considering I had that game, and sold it on eBay for about the same price with the instructions I don't think I'll be buying that one. I hate going into these game stores anyway, the employees never know a damn thing. I try and stick with eBay these days as much as possible, but sometimes can find a nice deal at 'Gamers'. At least gamers carries games for every system. And they give you twice as much for your games as gamestop does. Though I sell mine on eBay so I can get actual money for them.
-
Yeah, this one has some knowledge of game prices, though not completely. I paid far less for Rockman Complete Works 5 than what I've seen it go for on ebay (but still not as cheap as they sometimes go for on Yahoo Japan). They had a Duck Tales 2 for NES priced at $20, now don't get me wrong, the game is high, but it's value has steadily started to decline over time.
The stores name is Game Over, it appears to be a chain of independently owned stores that deal in new and retro gaming, much like Play N Trade. Shame they don't do specials on games and have discount cards like PnT has, they could drive a man to drinking with some of their prices, but never have I seen a place with so many needs of mine to fulfill than I've seen at this little shop.
-
There is so much out there, I imagine it's hard to figure out a good pirce on things sometimes. But then sometimes there's no excuse!
I quite like Play 'N' Trade. Last week I picked up a Sega Gen model 1 for $20 and a wile back I picked up MSG1 for the ps1 at $5. Then there's the thrift stores....Y's book 1&2 for the duo + a paper back for .66 cents???? Everyone who worked there must be a volunteer.
I find the NES Dubble Bobble and Galaga both in plastic nintendo cases at one thrift store and the guy wants a buck each for 'em. I didn't have any change so I give him my 5 insted and told him to keep it.
-
I've basically killed the Play N Trade in my area, too many hits and they have yet to recover on their retro games. :D
Though this new Game Over store will take some work, and a lot of cash, ugh boy. The good thing about this new store, they don't rely on trade ins, the guy has some guy who supplies him games, he told me if there's any game I need, let him know and he'll see if he can make it happen. I can help his business, but he needs to lower his prices.

Dreamcast S Vid.
Sheeeeeeeit. Y'oughta hook that up to yer HDTV using VGA.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreamcast_VGA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreamcast_VGA)
-
Yeah, I have a VGA box for my plasma, which has VGA input. My CRT HDTV has a DVI input only for that, I ordered a VGA-DVI converter, but got the wrong kind (there is DVI 24+5 pin, and DVI 24+1 pin). I wasn't too mad, I spent a dollar on eBay for it. I didn't realize there are two different types of DVI. I just haven't gotten around to buying another. I will Say the Dreamcast looks great with the VGA box on my plasma though. Now that I'm thinking about it, I think I'll get on eBay and plop down another dollar for the right kind! VGA-DVI 24+1 pin...
Still wish we would of gotten Castlevania on Dreamcast!
-
I still don't even own a Dreamcast and not sure what games I'd play if I had one, but I love that the system supports 480p on all games, to my knowledge, so that I have that option if I get one. After fiddling around trying to find which GameCube and PS2 games support progressive scan, and then finding out that most of the 480p PS2 games I have look like garbage, it's nice to hear that a system from that era had kind of a universal progressive scan mode.
-
Yeah, Dreamcast rocked. It had tons of great fighters, and shooters, and arcade type games. I love how I've got Resident Evil 2, 3 and Code Veronica on it + Dino Crisis. I believe I've read several times that RE2 and RE3 are best here in terms of graphics and extras. So many great 2D titles. Too bad we didn't get a 2D 'Vania on it. Yeah, I never bought a gamecube, til about a week ago. I finally got a wii a few months back and bought 6 gamecube games. All with Progressive Scan. It's really lame how so few games do support Pscan on PS2. The fact that you have to hold triangle and x at the boot up makes it even lamer. I never even knew about this till about six months ago... Why on earth would companies just not put that in the options? Two of my games have Progressive Scan in the options on PS2. Shadow of the Colossus, and God of War 2. I like when I play a gamecube game on the wii it automatically ask you if you want it in prog scan. Why didn't the Metal Gear games get it for shit sake? Hell a few King of Fighters games I have support it on PS2.

Super RC Pro AM GB and Kirby's Dream Land 2 GB, along with a very hard to find Bonk's Adventure NES and Rainbow Islands NES picked up tonight, have a Duck Tales 2 and Chip and Dale 2 on reserve for me when I get my Christmas bonus.
-
Final Fantasy III SNES, for a mere 2 bucks, a bargain.
-
Whoa, that's awesome.
-
Browsing these rather impressive collections kinda leaves me feeling like the guy in the locker room with the smallest dick. The pressures of fatherhood forced me to sell off my consoles and games some years ago *gnashing of teeth* but I did manage to retain most of my portables though. The only games I bothered picking up these last few years were the Castlevanias for DS and PSP --a couple Megamans --a couple Squeenix games, etc.... More recently, these last few months I finally splurged and bought a PS3 and Wii --my older kids are thoroughly enjoying NSMB and DKCR... But anyway...
This topic has me thinking more and more about virtual consoles and digital distribution. I'm not attached to any physical media --I only care about the games, so the thought of ditching NES and SNES carts in favor of VC digistrib copies on the Wii just makes sense to me. I don't understand the need for all the clutter.
-
I started collecting the original first wave of NES games a few years back aka the black box games but over time i need cash so i would sell some games even when i didn't want to ..
i got a link on another thread with what i'm selling now if any questions let me know!

Yeah Virtual Console is pretty nice. It also will save you some money. It was half the reason I bought my Wii. I'm sure I've got over 20 games downloaded on my 360 also. Virtual Console is also nice in that you'll probably get the games in better video quality too. I have my Wii hooked up to my tv with component cables. The old systems don't support those obviously. So the games look clearer and more colorful than ever. Heck, Dracula X for 9 bucks. Ogre Battle 64 was a clincher for getting the Wii. I believe it was 10 bucks to download that. I downloaded Lords of Thunder for 8 bucks. That was going to cost at least 25, but probably 40 for a copy in good condition for my turbo duo. Plus there are tons more good titles. My Super Metroid battery for SNES went bad some time ago, I tried to replace it and it still wont save. So Super Metroid on Virtual Console is what I play now. Do you already have a Wii? I sort of look at it as a mega system. Plus there are the Gamecube games too.
-
Big haul tonight, some hard to get cheap games, unfortunately most weren't cheap.
NES:
Captain America and the Avengers
Tiny Toons Adventures 2: Trouble in Wackyland
Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers 2
Duck Tales 2
SNES:
Super Soccer Champ
Earthworm Jim 2
Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse
Super Bomberman 1
Super Buster Bros.
Final Fight 2
Final Fight 3
Pocky & Rocky 2 (Kiki Kaikai 2)
-
If only Doug TenNapel weren't so stuck-up when it comes to video games, perhaps he'd make a new Earthworm Jim. He practically shits all over video games now, saying how they're such a waste of time, and that there's no such thing as a "classic" video game because classic means timelessness, and only a niche group actually adores and still plays the older games, therefore a large group or the majority of gamers can't agree on a game's classic status.
But, apparently he hopes to develop an EWJ movie—one that he actually has a heavy hand in creating, unlike that awful cartoon show. But apparently he's been talking about wanting to do that for ages, so it'll probably never happen.
-
Two more to add to the list, big cleanup comes tax time when I hit the Game Over shop harder.
NES: NES Open Tournament Golf
SNES: The Jetsons: Invasion of the Planet Pirates
The shops slowly running out of stuff that I want, so I had them order me for tax time an NES Bucky O'Hare cart, the game kicks ass, and is pretty hard for quite a lengthy game, coming soon.
Anyone else collect games regularly, or only at certain times of year?
-
Well I definitely don't collect them like you do Bloodreign. I would say I have WAY more games than everyone else I know, and still actually own the old stuff. Most people I know get rid of the old as you know and only play the current generation stuff. I'm trying not to buy stuff I know I'll never play though, and trying to weed out the stuff I don't need from my collection. Such as this, I have Samurai Shodown Anthology. So I sold my Japanese Samurai Shodown 6 for PS2 on eBay the other day. No need for it anymore. Now if I can sell my PAL SSV. I've listed Metal Gear 2 on eBay a number of times too, since I bought the Metal Gear Essentials package. Seems whoever wanted to buy MGS2 already got it ha. Just stuff like that, I like them sitting on my shelf and all, I like the cool packaging they come in. But I just don't need some stuff anymore. Mind you I'm keeping my Metal Slug 3, and 4/5 games for PS2 even though I have Metal Slug Anthology. As they have lame loading segments on MS Antho sadly. I think I will put Virtual On Marz on eBay maybe too. I have Guilty Gear Accent Core and Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus. I barely played either but I think the only difference might be that + has two more characters and a new story mode. So do I need to keep Accent Core. I have a few other games I don't think I'll play either like a sealed Radiata Stories. Sorry if that's too much info ha. I'm really don't want to have to buy another DVD/CD rack, I don't have room for it. Plus I mostly play 360. I'm glad I have the old stuff, and will keep most all of it. But I rarely ever touch it, besides stuff like Castlevania games, Mario games, or Super Metroid, I pop out Final Fantasy Tactics sometimes too. I have a solid collection and am happy with it! Though I kind of want Cannon Spike for Dreamcast still...
-
I collect games but I tend to go for the more rarer stuff. A lot of stuff I have sold across the years. My biggest collection is of the Castlevania series (i literally almost have every item made)
Bloodreign I'm tempted to send you a camera so you can take some pics of your massive collection & show us what you're working with~
-
I'm trying not to buy stuff I know I'll never play though, and trying to weed out the stuff I don't need from my collection.
Same thing I'm doing right now. I've been avoiding looking for more used games because I'm backlogged enough with stuff that I haven't even touched yet. Now I'm wanting to get rid of some DVDs and CDs, too.
-
Yes backlogged is definitely a problem I face. I still have Playstion games I've not played. Arc the Lad Collection for one. I bet that's a a big thing to tackle too... Both Shenmue games for Dreamcast too. Yes, DVD are a rough deal. Considering the I wish to get rid of are basically worthless. Not too mention all the full-screen DVD I have. I didn't realize the big difference a few years back... Nor did I think of owning a wide-screen TV. Anybody wanna trade their wide-screen Star Wars and Indiana Jones trilogy sets for my full-screen versions? No? I also got CD happy for a while as well, owning plenty of em I wish I could get my cash back on. Though I'll never part with my complete NIN CD collection! I just added Bioshock, Call of Duty World at War, and Darksiders to my 360 collection this week. I basically don't buy most games anywhere near the original release these days by the way.... Bioshock (original release with the slip cover) was only 10 bucks mint. The complete Map pack set for World at War was 1/2 price, and the original release of the game I got for 13 bucks mint. While sites like IGN and Gamespot didn't have much to say about Darksiders, I have heard very good things elsewhere! Gamefan magazine(my favorite game mag) is back and they gave it a good spot on the best of 2010 games. I have an affliction where I just won't buy Greatest/Platinum hit's versions of games by the way. And if they aren't mint I just can't stand it. Ha.
-
Two more for the original PS 1 added today, Pocket Fighters and Metal Slug X (yeah I own the Anthology on PS 2).
-
Oh, forgot I had Metal Slug X for a moment. I have the Japanese PS1 version. Had to get that one b/c it has blood in it!
-
Some days are good, some days are ok, some days you accidentally pick up a second copy of Afterburner II for the Genesis. >_<
-
Got Halo Reach Legendary Edition for 25 bucks! It was only 50 at the local mega store, Nebraska Furniture Mart. It just so happens they just sent me a 25 dollar off coupon on anything 49 bucks or more, as I have an account with them. Funny as the normal version of the game was 60. It's a huge box but it had the Limited Edition inside, and I must say the statue it came with is pretty sweet! Considering most people that have this probably paid $150 when it came out, I feel pretty happy ha. Oh Monster Hunter TRI with Classic Controller Pro was only $40, got that too. God of War non greatest hits like new $5 on eBay. And I might pick up Splatterhouse 360, and Fable III limited tomorrow. They were both a steal at NE Furn. Mart today($15 and $35). Damn games! I don't think I'll even touch Fable III if I get it for a long time, but such a deal...! My sister got possibly the worst game ever today. 101 in 1 Party Megamix for Wii. I really don't think even a chimp would enjoy it! STEER CLEAR!!!

Magical Drop III for the Saturn, I hated playing the one on Data East Arcade Classics on the Wii, the games always had it's story butchered (even if I can't understand a word of what's spoken), it's one of a few puzzle games that saw it's US release butchered beyond belief.
-

Dragon Warrior 1, Dragon Warrior 2, Festers Quest, Adventures of Lolo 1 and 2, Legend of Zelda 1, Legend of Zelda 2, Contra, Castlevania 1 and 2, Blaster Master, Sonic 1 and 2, Duck Hunt, Super Mario, Doctor Mario, Tetris, Gradius 3, R-type Super, Darius Twin (retitled SuperNova version), Battle of Olympus, Salamander, Life Force, Tiger Heli, Legendary Wings, 1942, Castlevania Symphony of the Night, Rondo of Blood, Dragon Warrior 3, Dr. Chaos, Godzilla: Monster of Monsters, Ys II, Phantasy Star 1, 2, 3, Super Mario World, Mario Brothers 2, Breath of Fire 1, 2, and 3, Legacy of the Wizard, The Immortal, Alone in the Dark, 1 and 2.
Unfortunately, due to having to move recently, most if not all of these games were destroyed by moisture during the storage phase of moving. I'm still mad about that. But the systems their on still work.

Two more pickups tonight, a couple surprises for me.
GB: Battletoads - first of the Battletoads GB games, Ragnarok's World, which I haven't found yet, seems closer to NES/Genesis Battletoads.
NES: Bucky O'Hare - Konami platformer based on a comic book, which also had a short lived cartoon on TV (very underrated show), known for being long and pretty difficult.
-
Free from a friend of mine in the UK, a complete copy of Sagaia for the SMS, the PAL exclusive Darius 2 on the old Sega 8 bit machine. :D
Edit: Hold the phone, a Genesis game arrived as well, Thunder Force 2. Excellent shmup from Technosoft, though the third and fourth games are far better. The third one should be here within a week.
-
It's the me thread, haha.
Another pickup arrived today, Thunderfox for the Genesis. A nice beat em up from Taito, though the shmup stage and the jeep driving parts have been cut out of the Genesis version, as well as the 2 player mode.
-
Two more simple pickups on a night when expected none. Both games have kind of tattered front labels, both work nicely.
NES: Shadow of the Ninja- tough hack and slash from the good folks at Natsume.
Genesis: Pac-Attack - puzzler from Namco, US version of Cosmo Gang the Puzzle. Not the best puzzle game in the world, but a little hard to find.
-
Got a package of 5 games from a Digital Press member:
PSP:
Taito Legends Power Up
Saturn:
Metal Slug
Genesis:
Thunder Force 3
Gaiares
Trouble Shooter
-
Atomic Runner Chelnov -Genesis- action run n gun/platformer from Data East, complete. Based on the arcade game, but has more music instead of 2 songs through each stage.
-
More stuff:
Genesis: Cadash - action RPG from Taito, originally an arcade game. Genesis port no longer has 4 characters to choose from, but 2.
GB:
Space Invaders - not much to say about this one, everyone knows these invaders.
Turrican - run n gun on the go, a little hard to see, but quite fun.
Dr Mario - GB port of the NES original puzzler.
Blades of Steel - Konami sports title for GB, retains all the action of the NES/arcade original. Plus you can get into fights.
-
Did some light hunting yesterday, picked up 1 pricy game, the rest cheap.
NES:
Lemmings
SNES:
Ms. Pac-Man
Aladdin
Phalanx
Genesis: The Little Mermaid
Also swung a deal at Atari Age for the following (gotta pay for em first):
Genesis:
Lethal Enforcers II
Tiny Toons Busters Hidden Treasures
Sparkster
FC:
Kid Dracula
Possible deal swung for the SNES Sparkster from a member of Digital Press as well, might as well get both Sparksters now while I can get them at good prices, and both at once to fit alongside my Rocket Knight Adventures.

Just got brand new Eternal Darkness for Gamecube, and brand new MDK 2 for Dreamcast off eBay. Love eBay. Fuck gamestop. Though I did get No More Heroes 2 for Wii for 12.99 new at a Gamestop recently. They sometimes have good deals. And this time it was actually in shrink wrap. Also got a complete used Super Metroid on eBay for merely 34.00 including shipping. Good deal. The box had some minor wear, but in this condition they usually go for lot more cash. Though I think Metroid games were all the rage on eBay around the holiday season. Sometimes it's best to wait a few months.... Now I just need a mint Cannon Spike for Dreamcast and I'll feel pretty complete. I got drunk the other day and overslept... missed an auction...
-
Got a few packages arriving over the next few days, and next week I purchase one more game, then a break.
Today's pickup is, Ganbare Goemon 4 SFC, an excellent game.
-
More stuff arrived, some goodies.
Famicom:
Kid Drac
SNES/SFC:
Ganbare Goemon 3
Genesis:
Sparkster
Marvel Land
Tiny Toons: Busters Hidden Treasures
Lethal Enforcers II
-
After reading all these games you are getting Bloodreign, i have a question for you, where do you stock all these games? Do you use a room as a warehouse? I'm really curious........
-
Arkanoid II Revenge of Doh FC
As for where I store it, in my bedroom on a few shelves, on a dresser, and inside a couple dresser drawers. Also have a couple CD racks, one on my wall, and one on my PC desk where I store CD games, and the top rock of the PC desk has games on it too. I wind up with clever ideas on how to store the games, but space is starting to get a tad tight, thankfully a lot of my games are loose, or else I'd really be in a pickle.
-
I still would like to see pictures, it's gotta be a pain organizing it all though
I thought this was a sticky thread??
-
I still would like to see pictures, it's gotta be a pain organizing it all though
I thought this was a sticky thread??
It isn't a sticky, as for pictures, I'd rather do a video if I ever decide to take it all down. Everything's tightly packed in I'm afraid, doing so would take hours, even with a video. I'd have to videotape, pull games off, videotape what's behind the front games, etc.. Unfortunately I don't own a video camera, or a cell phone (quality from those tend to be awful anyway). Perhaps one day, though I am close to 900 (the VC titles don't really need video, but the other 875 or so would).
-
The last of the 9 purchases I made arrived today, making a payment on something tomorrow, won't say the game name just yet. However the game I received however today I will, Puyo Puyo Sun Ketteiban PSX, love puzzle games.
-
Game #10 in a 10 game buying frenzy for me, and it's a doozy.
Sparkster SNES, this now gives me all of the little opossum's classic titles.
-
Another bump for a minor purchase or 3:
NES: Cyberball - arcade port of a decent robot football game, nothing to write home about.
GB: The Little Mermaid - Capcom game for GB, probably not a port of the NES game, haven't tried it yet.
SNES: Saturday Night Slam Masters - port of the arcade game, awesome game, Haggar from Final Fight is in it.
-
Just got Ogre Battle 64 for 24 bucks.
-
Finally took the plunge and got New Super Mario Bros. on the Wii, paid finally less than what it's going for. It came in a paper sleeve at the Game Over shop, so I had to make another trip to Gamestop to pick up a blank Wii case, thankfully the guy there was cool enough to give me official artwork from the game, so now it has the regular cases front and back. Biggest bummer, no manual, I'll have to figure out the controls on my own, I'm up to it.
2 games from Magic 900, 102 more from a major milestone of 1,000 games owned, my 3rd physical Wii CD owned. I'll have to make a trip to GO down the line, Kirby Squeak Squad DS is there, and since it plays like the Kirby games of old, I shall get it (and one day DKC Returns after watching some playthrough videos of it).
-
Yeah, the cardboard slip version came with the Red Wii systems. My sister bought one. The manual came with it but not in the actual cardboard slip. I believe the manual is just the full size version like what would come in the regular DVD case version. I'm surprised gamestop gave you the artwork with your case. Anyhow, I already have Street Fighter Alpha Anthology and Street Fighter Anniversary for PS2, but bought new copies of both on eBay. They were only 8 bucks a piece so I couldn't resist. I noticed both of these are $10.50 each on Amazon right now too, so if any of you guys wanna get them, get them now. Also I got Crysis 2 LTD for 360 and Vanquish for 360. Vanquish is a fantastic game a lot of people probably don't know about, so check it!
-
Went out for a stroll, got 2 games:
DS:
Kirby Squeak Squad
NES:
Paperboy 2
Also got a $100 gift card for my upcoming getting older day, spent it on ebay on 7 games. Took me 3 hours to get this freaking card connected to Paypal.
-
Mix of old and new as a late birthday gift arrived today, an unannounced PS 3.
Game list updated with Mappy FC, Gargoyle's Quest GB, Adventure Island II GB, Mortal Kombat 9 PS 3, Fallout 3 PS 3 (will stay sealed, not a fan of this one), and Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection.
-
Got R-Type Delta off PSN, don't have to hunt down a cheaply priced one anymore.
SFC/SNES:
Super Puyo Puyo - bastardized in America as Kirby's Avalanche, this is the original unaltered SFC version.
PSX:
Puyo Puyo Tsuu Ketteiban - second game in the series, ported to PSX with extras such as remixed music and stages. Saturn version was missing the original arcade games soundtrack, this one has it.
-
Final game for now, and it's a doozy.
Gargoyle's Quest II NES - my 301st NES/FC game, Mappy made the big #300.
-
Be vewy vewy quiet, I'm hunting games.
PS 3:
Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection
PS 2:
Midway Arcade Treasures 3
PS 1:
Hydro Thunder
SNES:
Yoshi's Island
Genesis:
Mickey Mania
King of the Monsters 2 (doesn't seem to work)
Hard Drivin'
NES:
Ikari III The Rescue
Willow
-
After a return from ebay, I got a replacement copy of MK Armageddon Premium Edition a month later free. Thankfully the incident was rectified.
-
Shanghai II Genesis added to the collection tonight. The only mahjong game I like and understand fully.
-
Tonight I managed to get ahold of a hard to find game locally, Adventures of Lolo II for my NES for a nice price.
-
I took a crap load of pics of my collection I'm running out of room, as the mancave takes up almost the whole basement. :( ,
sorry if these dont show up so well
EDIT: hey Jorge you think this qualifys me for the pasion for oldskool trophy :P
-
Give Ryu a trophy for this, he is a man of collecting and old school.
-
I get to add 2 more games to my collection too :) Otomedius Excelent, and Gradius Collection gotta love the SM'UPS I also realized I buy a lotta doubles for the sake of collecting :)
-
I have bought multiple versions of the same game on different systems quite a bit, I don't remember offhand how many versions I have of Gradius 1 alone, maaaaaybeee 4 versions, and only the NES version is different. Got Bubble Bobble on 4 platforms, and twice on the PS 2 alone.
But damn can collecting be pretty expensive at times, there are certain games I know I will never own due to their outrageous price.
-
I know what you mean, I'm still glad I got Rage of the Dragons when it first came out, as otherwise I'd never have been able to afford it.
as for the multipul copies I'm talking about same game same system, for instance I have 3 copies of MGS4 one is Japanese Limited, one is us limited, and one us standered edition.
I you wanna talk same game title well I have 10 versions of symphony of the night I have 3 japanese PSX one original and 2 ps book branded, (one due to a shipping error) I have the saturn ver Both us ps ver (black lable and greatest hits) the playstation store downloaded, the 360 ver, both disc (Konami Classics) and download, and us and japanese ver of Dracula X chronicles on psp (and I have like 3 copies of DX Cronicles as well)
And don't get me started on Street Fighter, I have so many versions of most of the series its scary
-
Looks like the game collecting dream I had a couple weeks ago signaled something, did pass on a Shining Force 1 loose cart for now, if it stays there at a shop, I'll snag it next time I go.
GB:
Revenge of the Gator
SNES:
Mr. Do
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Actraiser (complete)
Genesis:
Sonic 1 (I long needed a standalone cart of this)
Wonderboy in Monster World
-
I just added a few new games to my collection

-
Added more games to the collection this week end,
Psp

Ps3
Captain America: Super soldier
-
One for the PSN account, Sonic Wings Special 3, aka Aero Fighters. This one is the PSX version of this game.
Edit: put it on my PSP as well, will only count it is 1 game though.

-
Got some more games, 3 paid for, 6 free from an old guy who never knew he had them in his old flea market business.
PS3: God of War Origins HD Collection: hello dust gatherer
PS2: Capcom Vs. SNK 2: figures the game shop owner gives me 1 of the 2 copies that had to be gimped, music will not stream properly making waits between rounds 2 minutes, this shouldn't happen as I have played my friends copy in the past. None of these issues were found on his. Will return for another copy.
NES: Star Trek: hello USS Enterprise crew
SNES:
Mario is Missing: Ugh, it was free, but I still feel like I somehow paid for this.
SMB All Stars: Third copy, free, might eventually flip for something else at the local shop.
Gradius 3: second copy, will keep as a back up.
Indiana Jones Adventure: this one isn't bad at all, JVC made it, similar to the Star Wars SNES games they did.
Tuff Enuff: the first game in the Rushing Beat series from Jaleco, like this beat em up.
Tom & Jerry: free (all these listed SNES games were free), got all but the GB versions of this series, not the best of games, and not the worst.
-
Had one of those $50 gift cards, couldn't use it with Paypal for ebay, so I thought why not use it for PSN points, for $25 worth of points, I now have $21 in holding fees leaving me $3 on the card left. So I got the following:
Magical Drop F (PS1)
Money Idol Puzzle Exchanger (PS1)
Pac Man Championship DX (PSN)
Waiting for Sonic CD to drop Tuesday.
-
sorry I had to disappear, but I had to actually gimp a good chunk of my collection, sadly, i think I got rid of like 40 games mixed, but I bought 7 games in the last 2 weeks
GC
Luigi's mansion
Final fantasy chrystal chronicles
Paper mario
Dreamcast
Soul caliber (us)
X360
Tenchu Z
Ps3
Warhammer 4000: Space marine
Elder Scrolls Skyrim (this is the reason I've been away)
-
Sonic CD PSN, this now puts me 58 games away from the big 1K, used a $50 gift card on Amazon on 5 more games, will list as they arrive.
-
Operation C for Gameboy, never could find this (along with the other 4 Amazon games I have on the way, this too was from Amazon) in the wild. It plays quite like Super C on the NES.
1 down, 4 to come.
-
Gamestop had their buy 2 get 1 free today, so I picked up homefront (after trading it in a while back I wanted to play it recently), hunted the demon forge both ps3
and I snagged free copy SFIV (original) for 360 need to replace the book though...
-
2 of 5 have arrived:
Revenge of Shinobi Genesis: managed to not get revision 1.0, got 1.1, so there goes the Batman boss and Rambo enemies.
-
5 of 5 arriveth!
Blazeon SNES: cool shmup from Atlus, slow in spots but challenging.
Phelios Genesis: shmup from Namco with a Greek Mythology theme, sort of like Dragon Spirit, arcade port.
Castle of Illusion Genesis: Mickey Mouse's first Genesis outing, spectacular little gem, considered an easy game, but has some harder parts.
-
Had some gift card funds left, got some PS1 games off PSN for PS3.
Magical Drop: very basic compared to the later installations, fewer playable characters. Sony should've considered the second and third games as well.
Shienryu: port of a Sega S-TV arcade game shmup, very solid, but no tate option.
-
Thought I'd post a pic of my new shelf I bought after I ran out of space:
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg256.imageshack.us%2Fimg256%2F3051%2F20120124223517453.jpg&hash=42e4ec443a026363720a3264e7899630221fc0e6)
I had run out of space on my smaller shelf in my computer room, and my chest full of NES games was overstacked. So I killed two birds with one stone, but had to buy some more dust sleeves for the NES games:
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg585.imageshack.us%2Fimg585%2F769%2F20120124223533259.jpg&hash=55889c2fcc90fb53c6827ccb48d4de445526d280)
Have a few dozen more NES games than last time, I think. But it pissed me off, because when I got around to cleaning my last purchases, Ghostbusters (don't ask; not sure why I bought it either) won't fit into the cartridge slot and Tecmo World Wrestling (because the last 15 minutes are hilarious) the contact part is loose. Guess I need to clean and test my games I buy within the 30 day return window. Derp. :'(
Also updated my CV collection in the fan forum.
-
10 games picked up today, spent less than $90 on some big names.
Gameboy:
Faceball 2000 - wonderful little FPS game where you play as a smiley ball taking down other smileys.
SNES:
Faceball 2000 - same as GB, except in color
Super Return of the Jedi - need 1 more for this collection to be complete, saw it today passed on it as it seems to be common.
Genesis:
Batman - same as NES version, just not quite as good
Rastan Saga II - another Taito game for the collection, poor port of a not so hot game
Phantasy Star II - boxed with map for $5, oh yeah. :)
Phantasy Star III: Generation of Doom - $5 complete, no map I suppose, same as above, hell yes. :)
Dynamite Headdy - This is my favorite game from Treasure, love this game.
NES:
Tengen Tetris - HUGE find, ran me $40 though.
Low G Man - good Taxan game, can't figure out how to attack yet.
Prince of Persia - excellent game.
The Tengen Tetris alone can fetch a high amount, feels like I got away with murder with this haul.
-
Just got several more NES...having these extra dust sleeves laying around is burning a hole in my pocket:
Tecmo World Wrestling (to replace the busted one)
Tiger Heli
TMNT: The Manhattan Project (had to spend $15, but I haven't seen it any cheaper locally)
...and my regular copy of Lords of Shadow (X360) came in the mail.
I'll probably be slowing down on purchases soon. Making an effort to cut back debt. Luckily, I have most of what I want (something I didn't think I'd ever say, m'heh).
-
Just thought people should see THIS:
http://www.vintagecomputing.com/index.php/archives/103 (http://www.vintagecomputing.com/index.php/archives/103)
.... now that is one massive game collection. God only knows how whoever achieved that. It's actually frightening to me.
-
Did some trades and got some mew stuff, most notable was I got Ryu Ga Gotoku and I'm waiting for my Ryu Ga Gotoku 2, also bought soul caliber V
-
I use the following site to organize my game collection:
http://www.gamelogs.org (http://www.gamelogs.org)
Here's my games:
http://www.gamelogs.org/collection/Opium.html (http://www.gamelogs.org/collection/Opium.html)
-
Went back to my hometown for the weekend, so I had to check out the local game stores:
Ico (YES! I never thought I'd actually find this in a retail store...17 bucks)
TMNT - NES
Batman Forever - SNES
Spider-Man and X-Men: Arcade's Revenge - SNES
Contra: Legacy of War (sheer curiosity) - PS
-
Spider-Man and X-Men: Arcade's Revenge - SNES
Check your cart for a typo, there's 2 revisions, one with correct spelling and one named Acrade's Revenge, mine has the typo. Shows Acclaim or LJN goofed on certain copies, but it's likely not worth anything more than the corrected version.
-
Hah! I'll be damned, it's got the typo. I never even noticed that before.
Picked up a few more this weekend. Went looking for any old NES carts that had the Famicom converters inside the case, but didn't find any (again). Picked up Mach Rider, Contra III and Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure instead.
-
The first 2 of 10 games arrived today (trying to set up a cheap deal with someone for 8 more) from tha Bay and Amazon:
NES: Whomp Em - a game that shows an Indian on the front cover, but the game is basically unchanged from it's Japanese counterpart which I believe might be about Journey to the West.
Genesis:
Ultimate Qix - it's Volfied, just renamed for the US Genesis. Make suqares to trap the styx in, don't let it hit you.
-
In the words of George Carlin, MORE STUFF:
GB:
Lock N Chase
Solomon's Club
Genesis:
Two Crude Dudes
SNES/SFC:
Pop N Twinbee - I got tired of playing this one on Twinbee Portable PSP.
-
Forgot to add some stuff from a few weeks ago:
Dr. Chaos - NES
Beauty and the Beast - Genesis
MDK - PS1
Shadows of the Damned - X360
I also got some more Game Room games on the 360: Black Widow, Blades of Steel, and Pitfall II. Been playing the hell out of Game Room lately.
-
2 more down, 2 more to go, all Genesis/MD:
Gen:
Ristar - Sonic team made this, delayed a few years, but it has polish.
Midnight Resistance - run n gun by Data East, save your family.
-
Late pickup tonight locally, saw it and had been wanting it:
GBA:
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror - MOAR Kirby
Later today, another post as my last of 2 imports arrives today, and maybe another Genesis game via Amazon arrives, we'll see.
-
Last of the ebay/Amazon stuff arrived, swung a deal with a fellow collector for 6 more games for dirt cheap. Here's the last two arrivals:
Gen/MD:
Joe & Mac Caveman Ninja
Puyo Puyo Tsu Mega Drive - absolutely complete with registration card, insert for Japanese games on 32X, MD, and Mega CD.
-
6 more arrived today, with 2 more from my sister's husband for NES waiting for me, won't list these last 2 though till I get them, they are pretty hard to find, but got them cheaper.
Here's what I got now:
NES:
Mighty Bombjack
SNES:
Super Nova: also known in Japan as Darius Force, not sure why it got renamed.
Gen:
High Seas Havoc - underrated Data East platformer, some say similar to Sonic
Truxton - it's Toaplan, it's fun
Sonic Spinball
ESWAT
-
And so I now have the 2 NES games, they are:
NES:
Qix
GI Joe A Real American Hero
Both of these are higher priced NES games on ebay, I got lucky.
-
Made two stops today: one at GameStop (used two $25 gift cards I saved for their b2g1 sale) and another at Game X-Change (who was having a going-out-of-business sale :( ):
NES - BreakThru, Tetris (Nintendo), Robin Hood
SNES - Warlock, Super R-Type (already had it, whoops), Phantom 2040
Genesis - Taz in Escape From Mars, Aladdin
PS3 - Crysis 2, Enslaved
360 - Batman: Arkham City
...and a 1600 point Microsoft card (bought Food Fight, Breakout, Finalizer, and Pooyan on Game Room so far). All for about $50 total. Got all of it for a steal, but I'm still kinda bummed about Game X-Change.
-
There was a ton I found in Texas, but the prices were scary so I limited myself to 8 games, and 1 box for my Chiki Chiki Boys I already had, total cost, $187.
SMS:
Wonderboy Complete
R-Type loose
Saturn:
Kyukyoku Tiger II Plus
Gen:
Quackshot loose
Rolling Thunder 3 loose
Sonic 3D Blast loose
Shinobi III complete
Valis III complete
I could've really cleaned house had the prices been cheaper at these Texas Game Over stores, but I can be thankful I was able to afford some things. I think tears will flow once I realize how much I spent in one shot.
-
For me I got for my 3ds
Dragon Quest IV Chapters of the Chosen and Dragon Quest IX Sentinels of the Starry Skies ;D
I freaking love dragon warrior/quest.
And because I feel like it (I have this game as well) ;D
Dragon Quest VIII OST - Overture ~ Title Theme (Symphonic Version) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuWp5a2m11w#)
-
The last version of Battletoads Double Dragon I needed arrived today, the Genesis version. This puts me 12 games away from 1,000, and 4 Genesis games away from 150.
-
Just got some NES games this week at a local game store
Metal Gear
Snakes Revenge
TMNT2 the arcade game
Zoda's Revenge: Startropics 2
I've been playing Startropics like crazy, I always wanted to and I'm just doing it now. That game is awesome and I doubt it will ever happen, but Nintendo needs to make a new one
-
I hope you have a Gamefaqs guide for the NES Metal Gear, because the building puzzle can get crazy. Then again, I also needed a guide for the MSX Metal Gear as well. D:
-

When I played the MSX games I used one, I never really got too far in the nes version or snakes revenge, but I'm sure I'll need one for the both of those!
-
A PS1 rarity appeared, Image Fight/X-Multiply, two Irem shmups, one hori, one vert. X-Multiply plays very similar to R-Type, and the story involves you and your ship shrunken down and injected into a woman's body where hides an alien invasion waiting to happen. One of the 4 Arcade Gears titles and the most expensive of the 4, can go for $100-150 on ebay easily.
PS1 version is the rarer of it and the Saturn version, but sometimes the Saturn version can go for higher. Paid $57 for it, love these two Irem titles as I do love the Irem name brand. Just 11 games to 1,000, but this is the big celebratory title for me for when I reach the 1K plateau.
-
Geez, nearly a 2 month dry spell, but finally something more added to the collection.
PS2:
Gauntlet Dark Legacy - the last Gauntlet game IMO that still felt like Gauntlet (looking at a Seven Sorrows video, that one doesn't even look like a Gauntlet title).
10 away from the big 1K.
-
I've been playing Startropics like crazy, I always wanted to and I'm just doing it now. That game is awesome and I doubt it will ever happen, but Nintendo needs to make a new one
Seriously Startropics is one of those huge underrated gems in the NES library. By the way, unless you have the special letter that came with the game you're gonna have to look up a puzzle solution. As some point, you're asked to take the special sheet of paper that came with the game and dip into water and read a numerical code to your buddy. It was designed partly to stop piracy and partly as an added bonus. 747 is the code I believe, and if not look it up.
Startropics 2 was an admirable attempt to improve on the first one, and I think you'll be pleased with the changes they made. I won't spoil them either.
-
Couple of SNES commons tonight, 8 shy of 1K now:
Fatal Fury 2
Fatal Fury Special
-
Now 7 shy of 1K, a buddy of mine gave me his spare copy of Marvel Vs Capcom 3 for the PS3. Wish I could've fished 2 out of him for PS2, but wouldn't part with it.
-
The only game I bought currently was kof XIII.
-
Couple pickups arrived today, one for PS1, the other Saturn, 5 games from 1,000.
PS1:
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
Saturn:
Sonic 3D Blast
-
I love these two games, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo japanese version (Pocket Fighter) is the game that introduced me to Rival Schools, since this version came with a demo of this game. :)
For Sonic 3D Blast, the only change that I noticed is the bonus stages being in "real 3D", much mopre prettier. Do you have Sonic Jam and Sonic R too?
-
Pocket Fighter and Super Puzzle Fighter are different games I'm afraid, Puzzle is as you guessed it, a puzzler, Pocket Fighters on the other hand is a fighting game with chibi Street Fighter characters (I do own a couple versions of Pocket Fighter, PS1 and on SF Alpha Anthology PS2).
-

Yeah, I always forget which one is the puzzle game and which is the fighting game, since they have similar names. What is the US name for Pocket Fighter? IIRC it have another name in US.

Super Gem Fighters is the US name for arcades, oddly didn't get renamed for home consoles, but did for SFA Anthology.
As for Sonic R or Sonic Jam, no to the first one, and second one someone beat me to it, same guy I got these 2 from had it for $35, but within 5 minutes of posting it on a forum I go to, it sold. The US version of Jam (as well as Saturn Bomberman) go for far too much these days, the Japanese versions still remain at a fairer price.
-
Wow man, this sucks, I wish that you have more luck next time :-\
-
It'll fall to me eventually, I have had some hard to get games fall into my hands over time. No rush on this one though as I have the original Sonic titles on a few collections as well as on the Genesis.

From the depths of hell, 2 more games finally added to the lot, funny story, 1 I've had for years and forgot to chronicle on my list, the other a recent purchase.
PS2:
World Heroes Anthology - the last of the Anthology titles I needed, now gotten.
GB:
Zelda Links Awakening - how the hell I missed putting this years ago on my original game list is anyone's guess. It's also quite hard for me not to spot this one as it's still boxed and I see it everyday when I get out of bed. Attribute that to old age I suppose. :-X
Now 3 games shy of 1K.
