Post by: phillinator on October 25, 2010, 03:17:54 PM
TheSpeedGamers' are hosting a Castlevania Marathon that starts October 29th at 6:00PM Central and will run for 2 days (48 Hours). They will be playing through a lot of the Castlevania games while raising money for charity.

TheSpeedGamers have been streaming video game marathons for over a year to raise money for various charities. In total they have raised over $235,000 dollars and played 19 marathons. They have raised over $57,000 in their week long Mario Marathon, and have made multiple news appearances.

During the marathon the commentators will be dressing up in their Halloween costumes, holding multiple contests to win various prizes and much more. Some of the prizes are contributed by TheSpeedGamers' gracious community members.

Planned Games:

Symphony of the Night
Super Castlevania
Simon's Quest
Rebirth
Lament of Innocence
Harmony of Dissonance
Castlevania 64

Sounds like so much fun. Too bad my Halloween is pretty much booked. Maybe I can get in a few hours.

Oooh boy, you better not close with Despair. Don't want this thing to go out with a whimper.

It's great if you guys can make it at all, even if you can't donate. And even if you can't make it, be sure to spread the word out about this, any form of promotion is greatly appreciated.

Lords of Shadow is going to be half of the marathon LOL

They don't call us TheSpeedGamers for nothing  ;D

You should play them in roughly chronological order. :D

Like:
Lament of Innocence
Rebirth
Super Castlevania
Simon's Quest
Harmony of Dissonance
Symphony of the Night
Castlevania 64
Portrait of Ruin
Aria of Sorrow

And then throw these two in somewhere:
Lords of Shadow
Harmony of Despair

I wonder where one can register to play for these things? I think I could do a shit ton of stuff for the Mega Man and Castlevania ones.

Unfortunately, we already have all the players picked out, and the players for each marathon are picked out from the staff team.

You should play them in roughly chronological order. :D

Like:
Lament of Innocence
Rebirth
Super Castlevania
Simon's Quest
Harmony of Dissonance
Symphony of the Night
Castlevania 64
Portrait of Ruin
Aria of Sorrow

And then throw these two in somewhere:
Lords of Shadow
Harmony of Despair
The games being played and times of each must correspond with the players' schedules and familiarity with the game/how quickly they can complete it, as some live in different areas and therefore have different schedules.

And yes, they will be playing for 48 hours straight, and there will be commentators for the whole of that time.

I second this, choose a better game!

This is pretty lame. You have a game being played, and then a handful of people just goofing off. It's really rare that anyone actually reacts or says anything in response to what's going on in the game.
