Is it possible to get full 200% map completion with Maxim? If so, how?
What's the easiest method to get the Pumpkin I.D.?
Is there any way to emulate Order of Shadows and/or
Adventure Rebirth?
If one has played thru & beaten LoD, then is it worth bothering with CV64?
Is Victor Belmont an "official" character?
How many "cancelled" games have their been in CV's history?
What level should I be at to fight Xiang-Shi?
I've never played Kid Dracula. Is it worth it?
Has anyone played that Konami all-star fighting game that included Simon? If so then what are your thoughts on it?
Is there any way to view/purchase the LoI cellphone story online?
Which year does OoE take place? (guesstimation)
Did anybody bother levelling up the subweapons & completing the quests in PoR? What happens when you max everything out?
Was it a good or bad idea to incorporate Bram Stoker's Dracula into the canon?
In which game is the funnest glitch to pull off?
More to come...

Adventure Rebirth can be emulated with a Wii Emulator. It'll look better than the Wii itself, too (Dolphin).
Kind of a pain to emulate though, but it works.
Order of Shadows can be emulated as well but I forget how.
Victor Belmont is part of Castlevania "Lore", but since there was no game, there is no such character. He's as mythical as Castlevania Bloodletting characters.
Bloodletting and Resurrection are the only unreleased titles as far as I know.
I fight Jiang-Shi at Lv50 but that's just me.
Kid Dracula plays more like a MegaMan game. It's really fun, so I'd say it's 'worth it' (opinion). There are two versions: NES, and Gameboy, and are slightly different.
OoE takes place somewhere around the 1800's around the same time as Circle of the Moon.
My opinion on CV64 is that if you've fully-completed LoD, then it's not completely necessary to play CV64. The changes are the Simon Outfit (Reinhardt), and the Maria Outfit (Carrie), plus a different forest with mausoleums, and the four final Towers are slightly different (Science, Sorcery, Duels, and Execution... Execution being the one that underwent the heaviest change). I have played both games and you're not missing out on much in CV64 that warrants reverting to a weirder camera and unusual enemy targetting. I think they should've added the Simon/Maria outfits to LoD instead of Armored Reinhardt and Maiden Carrie.
I maxed out all of the weapons and magic quests in PoR. I believe you get the Alucard Spear It's really cool and I do use it a lot.
My opinion on the Bloodlines/Stoker is... it's kinda neat that they did that.
-
I haven't mastered all the weapons in PoR, but I know you get the Magus Ring for completing all the quests. It's basically PoR's equivalent of the Chaos Ring, IIRC. I believe you get the Alucard Spear during one of the quests.
I actually prefer CV64 to LoD. Like Jorge mentioned, the version of CV64 that's packed inside of LoD isn't quite the same. Besides the different levels, there are some music and animation differences. Unfortunately it's been awhile since I played either one in depth, so all I remember is that I preferred CV64...I can't remember exactly why.
I wouldn't say Victor is official. His game is cancelled (and it probably would've been retconned anyway), so he's never been included in an actual canon CV game.

I always found it amusing how Morris in Bloodlines has this HUGE frame. The guy is seriously buff.

Is there any way to view/purchase the LoI cellphone story online?
As far as I know I can't be found online because apperently the manga is a format that is very difficult to upload to one's computer. For example, the comic has sound effects and all that.
Which year does OoE take place? (guesstimation)
My guess is as good as any but I believe it was kind off implied that the old lady is the granddaughter of a Belmont vampire hunter though we don't know who it is. This could mean that she is a descendant of Richter, most likely his daughter because of her age. She is like 85 years old and assuming Richter did have childeren and this happend shortly after Symphony I would say the game takes place in 1885 give or take a few years.
Got all that?

John Morris from Bloodlines is built like a truck! Built Ford Tough!
I also think that Brams Stoker's Dracula being put into the CV universe was a cool idea, but the team who decided to do it didn't put a whole lot of thought into it and thus we have several issues regarding plausability with some key elements.
I always work to get the Magus ring in PoR because it allows you to use the Vampirekiller at full power without worrying about it killing you instead. It works like this: The whip at it's full potential will start to rapidly drain your magic. Then when that's all gone, it will sap your life in the same way. But while wearing the Magus ring, you can avoid that totally and use the whip to your heart's content. ;)
Playing kid Dracula is a really strange expearience. I have yet to finish it cause it's so hard at certain points in the game. A real challanging platformer. At least you get to kick the ass out of a ghost who looks strangly enough like a member of the KKK with the swaztika on his hood :-X
I've tried, but was unable to get the 200% with Maxim just because of that final section of the castle that won't open no-matter what I've tried.
To my recollection there has only been one cancelled game (Resurrection) while the other (Bloodletting) eventually was re'vamped' into Symphony of the night. I could be wrong about bloodletting however this is what I've learned about it.
LoD was a better construct of CV64. Better camera, more characters, better level design, etc. However I do miss some of the things that were in CV64 that are not in LoD (and I'm not talking about those silly motercycle skeletons :P)

Here's a rundown of the differences between CV64 and LoD's Reinhardt/Carrie quests. It would be up to the player to decide if it's 'worth it':
1. The intro is different. CV64 has the Castle with Thunder, followed by Malus playing the violin. LoD has the running maiden getting kidnapped and sacrificed to bring the ghost of Dracula back.
2. Reinhardt and Carrie actually have one line of voiceacting at the start of the game. Reinhardt says "Courage... don't leave me!" and Carrie says "No matter how it gets, I have no regrets" (I think).
3. The first stage in CV64 is the Forest of Silence, and this stage has a reference to X68000 with the thunder striking the tree right before you (this can actually hurt you). These scene is not in LoD, and LoD has the Foggy Lake as its first stage.
4. There's a cutscene with a bleached white skeleton that Reinhardt examines (almost in a Resident Evil/Silent Hill style), then a cutscene wtih skeletons rising out of the ground. This scene is not in LoD at all.
5. The entire layout of the Forest of Silence is different except for the battle vs. the Giant Ape Skeleton.
6. The music for the Castle Wall "WatchTower" has a different set of instruments. The CV64 version uses Chorus (which sounds great), the LoD version uses Strings and has a little piano melody in there as well. Personally, I miss the CV64 version.
7. I don't think Dracula has voiceacting lines in LoD, but he does in CV64 "Miserable worm, upstart weakling. All those who oppose the Dark Lord... must die."
8. As mentioned before, the four towers have undergone some changes, some minor, and some significant. The tower of science, the tower of sorcery, the tower of duels, and the tower of execution, all have changed layouts. The most predominant of changes is in the Tower of Execution, where the center section on the molten steel (lava?) is upright with bridges in CV64, but it's completely broken down and tilted in LoD.
9. You actually go on the clock face and hands in LoD. In CV64 you just go through a door and you're at the Keep.
I think I missed a few, but that's the stuff I remember changed the most.

Whoa, is this true? I always thought it was lame that PoR claimed the VK would consume any non-Belmont who used it, and then when you get it powered up it doesn't do anything to you. How do you get it fully powered up so that it consumes your magic/life? Do you have to level up all the subweapons or something?
-
Reinhardt and Carrie's quests also have voiceover narrations at the beginning, whereas in LOD that was cut out with only the text remaining.
Lots of other little differences, too. I prefer a number of aspects about CV64 to LOD.

You just use it until you start to see you magic drain rapidly, then followed by your life meter. I found out the hard way once. :-[ But with the Magus ring equiped, your magic will not drain away because the ring rapidly recarges you magic, thus preventing the whip from killing you.

I thought if you beat Whip's Memory, then you'd be ok?
Anyway, I always try to have the Magus Ring (sorry about the mistake with the Spear btw) as early as possible so I never noticed about the HP going down.
-
Once I get the VK in PoR, it NEVER gets unequipped, and Charlotte NEVER gets used much. I've NEVER run into the MP/HP drain. I call bs.
-
I too call BS. Apparently nobody else has ever run into this. I just unequipped all my items from both characters except for the VK and I whipped 100x straight with no rest in between. There was never any MP/HP drain. The only way this could be true is if the game tallies your total whip swings since the beginning of the game and starts to drain them after, say, the 10,000th swing. And if that were the case, it would be a horribly implemented feature, as evidenced by the fact that nobody else has apparently ever experienced this.
-
Okay then, try this: Go after a boss character and see what happens. I honestly can't believe that I own the only cope in thw world that does this and if I do, then WTF man?!? I would love to call BS with you guys on this one cause I LOVE using the VK, but I died while trying to kill a boss with it.

Like I said, I never unequipped it, or used Charlotte much since I got it. That means every boss from that point I whipped to death, including Drac.

I thought the whole draining stuff was just part of the storyline and does not affect you in the game. Perhaps you have some other equipment on that is sucking out your MP and HP.
I remember playing POR and looking at my health w/o the magus ring. My HP doesn't get drain

I just tested out my once in a lifetime experience...and that's really strange. The whip didn't kill me! I took off the Magus ring and I was fine throughout the Dracula/Death battle... Puzzling indeed. :-\

Again, I thought everything was alright after you defeated Whip's Memory. You do get the VK prior to that, don't you? Only it's not as good... or something.. right?
-
Defeating the Whip's Memory validated your proof of Belmont blood and enabled you to use the VK whip at full power. I don't know if it was ever said if defeating also removed the whole 'draining lifeforce' aspect, as didn't John Morris do the same thing with Eric and it still killed him? Of course, there's no such thing as being a "full-blood" Belmont, either. Having the Belmont surname didn't make you any more of a worthy fighter than not having it, so long as you were of the same generation as the last that wielded the whip at full power, or earlier. (Johnathan and John had just as much Belmont blood in them as Julius' supposed grandfather and great-grandfather, I would think)
Anyway...to answer some questions:
- Maxing out the Pie subweapon actually helps you with the fight against the Whip's Memory, so at least that's in your best interest. Maxing the Javelin out to get the Alucard/Alcarde Spear helps too, as it's as powerful or more than the VK whip IMO.
- OoE I think lands in around the time of Richter's kids or grandkids, so perhaps before CV64? (would explain how Drac comes back as a kid)
- The Bram Stoker's tie-in was done decently, IMO...but it could have been explained better in the fact that the novel could have been referenced a bit more. (ie: what happened with Drac's encounters with the Harkers?)

It is possible you equipped a different item and probably thought the whip is draining you.
