Title: A skeleton action figure for the CV fan.
Post by: Danial on January 18, 2011, 05:41:45 PM
I've always loved horror and monsters as far back as I can remember, and the various movies of Ray Harryhousen were favorites of mine.  I could watch Sinbad or Jason fend off various creatures or hordes of the undead, then pop the Castlevania cartridge into my NES and fight those same monsters myself.

So for those of you with similar interests, check out Sci-Fi Revoltech's twentieth figure: a skeleton warrior from Jason and the Argonauts.

This figure may not be an official CV product, but he fits in with the spirit of Castlevania perfectly.  Check out my article if you're interested in an in-depth review.

But I can tell you right now, between the detailed sculpt and extensive articulation, this is the best skeleton figure I've ever seen.  And who more than the CV community can appreciate a good evil skeleton, so I thought I'd share it with you all.

If you have any questions or would like a specific picture taken, just let me know.

Would go great with my Gabriel Belmont figure (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5MMoHhIGD4w/TLl2pMAQEJI/AAAAAAAAANw/eog0svNQFbQ/s1600/belmont+%2B+tycus+013.jpg)   :)

And suddenly I'm reminded of those unfair skeleton warriors in lords of Shadow...

Cool tho

You bought that custom figure that was on ebay a while back?  How did that look in person?

It looks pretty good, although I wish Gabriel had his hood that's seen in the game. The Combat Cross is long as hell, and the figure is taller than the other CV figures.

How big is this skeleton figure anyways? I try to keep my customs in the same size as the official figures, so if this is about the same size that would be awesome.

He's only about five and a half inches tall, so he doesn't fit in with the NECA figures.  But, he does fit in with those Japanese arcade prize figures.

That skeleton looks a little intimidated by Simon for some reason.

Maybe it's a skeleton of a teenage boy. xD
I love the look on the skeleton's face, it's like "OhShi-"

This skeleton looks like "Yeah? Wanna fight?!". And Simon (or Trevor?) will pwn his head.

Alucard goes great with my SotN Death figure (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5MMoHhIGD4w/TLvn36eWNLI/AAAAAAAAAOA/WIqqYBvd5GU/s1600/death+%2B+ironman+%2B+whiplash+007.jpg)  :)

That's a really cool figure, what did you make him out of?

I read it as him gasping in horror.

Simon holds a mean staring contest.

Also, that really is a beautiful Alucard figure. I own the NECA Alucard and Simon, and while NECA's Alucard looks shinier and more defined in spots, the face looks a lot more hastily painted than in that version. I definitely prefer that sword to the NECA one too. Maybe I'm being really picky...all in all, nice figures, and cool skeletons!

I didn't make it Danial, it was built by Sabretooth (http://sabretoothsworkshop.blogspot.com/) (along with Gabriel). The cloak is made out of a leathery material, kinda hard to describe, but the figure is semi-posable & mostly for display-only. His customs are awesome :D

I said the Gabriel Belmont figure is bigger than the other toys but I was wrong; he's about the same size as the Prize Collection figures, which makes him smaller in scale than the NECA ones

I love that Death figure. I need to make one to go with my Slogra and Gaibon, the trouble with that is theres so many Deaths to choose from, I think my favorite is LoI..

If you're going to do a Death figureen to go with Slogra and Gaibon then look no further then Death from SCV4. The three fiends at their best! You could even give him his etherial red eyes  :o
