"What about the game, Duke? Is it any good?"
"Yeah, well after 12 fuckin' years it should be."
lol
The trailer looks amazing! If the game is actually like it, I think it might live up to expectations. Whether it does or not though, it looks like it will at least be a really great FPS game. Thoughts?

Ha ha! That looks like my kinda action game.

Probably breaking all records of development time for a single video game EVER, this game was called by fans Duke Nukem: Forever in Development. I mean, come on! This game switched like, a dozen engines... One year, two, three... 12 years!!!! That's like, a millennium in the video game world! :o
This game is like Mick Jagger. People made jokes about him being too old 20 years ago.
Does today's generation of gamers even know who Duke Nukem is?
A first generation FPS, (when was that? 1996?) for me when I was a kid, Duke represented everything that is awesome: Extreme Violence, explosions, and pixelated strippers. It was one of the first video games that I played, and I was amazed.
I never really liked FPS. Doom always gave me a headache. But Duke was different. Maybe his witty comments were what made the game so awesome. Overall, Duke is the essence of coolness and manliness. This guy rocks.
If this game really comes out, I hope it gains the success it deserves. Most Probably won't. Today, there are so much more games in the market than in 1996. Except to its real fans, DNF would probably remain just another game on the shelf.

Twelve years? Hasn't it been fourteen? I'm pretty sure this went into development the year after Duke Nukem 3D was released.
-
This is a day 1 purchase for me. I can't wait to see how this game turned out. I finally played Duke Nukem 3D on Xbox Live last year, and that's why I'm so excited for this one. Well, and to a lesser extent, the notoriety it gained by being in development hell for 12 years.
I remember reading the 3D Realms forums after the development staff was fired...there were some really, REALLY weird people over there.

Actually looks good. Sweet. I was thinking it'll be one of the biggest disappointments ever considering the hype.
-
Even if it ends up mediocre, even if it gets 1/10 scores all over the board, this game is a day 1 buy for me just for the history of the game And the ability to say DUKE NUKEM FOREVER CAME OUT!!!
So let's see what's on the development hell list now:
Chinese Democracy
Duke Nukem Forever
Detox

Just wanted to post this little cartoon....
Which was made for DNF's "never coming out" anniversary... in 2004.
