Title: CVD gets no love
Post by: shelverton. on February 15, 2011, 06:35:00 AM

So, what happened to the person who was supposed to "take over" the CVD site? It hasn't been updated since june last year. I think it's a real shame to see this once great site slowly fade away, becoming more and more obsolete. There are several games that aren't even covered in the "Games"-section. This used to be THE hotspot for Castlevania news... I mean, the forums are still great and packed with info, but it's always nice to see stuff on the site too. I'm obviously not blaming anyone cause I know that most people are busy with real-life stuff, but I would hate to see the site die. :( Maybe noone is interested in running the site, in which case there's not much to do.

Sounds like shelverton. wants to step up to the plate! ::hands him the keys::

Now put your monkey where your mouth is & update our site.

Hahah, there's no need for money to be involved.
What's needed is a system to quickly and efficiently post up articles, etc.
Because there isn't one, one has to trudge along with old HTML, etc. to get anything posted.

I would've loved to do it if it weren't for the fact that I would most likely suck at it, lol! My english is simply not good enough for writing indepth stuff. Oh, and what Jorge said of course. It sounds rather cumbersome :(

I like classic HTML. :p I miss the old look of the Dungeon, the really campy video gamey look. The redesign from some years ago looks so trite and stale.

I like Mr. P's website because it still retains that late '90s look. :p It looks like a fun video game website, even though it could use some clutter cleaning.

Eric's Castlevania III site also retains that old school design.

To be honest, I also liked the old look.
Well, I'm somewhat of a co-admin of the Dungeon now... so I've been looking into what I can do to improve the upload system.
Once I've got a figure out a way to intuitively an efficiently upload new content, I will update the site myself.

However, this will take a while and I don't think it will be a free process.

Has anyone thought about WordPress? It's great if you get it figured out, (not too hard). It's also very customizable for those with css skills.

I thought about it... but it won't let you customize the layout so that it fits into the site.

However, I'm looking into another method.  If it works, you'll get easy updates.  Stay tuned.

I haven't seen the guy period. He's rarer than that stupid ghost in HoD. The GBA one.

I never did see that ghost monster thing. Beastiary still missing that slot.

I found him in the castle entrance on my first play through. Even got a breastplate out of him too! That has never happened again... :P
