Chances are these all would've turned out pretty bad, but which do you think had the most potential?
Bloodletting
We all should know about what happened with this (http://castlevania.wikia.com/wiki/The_Bloodletting), but would you have bought a 32x just to play it?? (note: there was a fanmade remake (http://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/index.php?topic=689.0) of this, but I have no idea what the status on this project is)

The Belmont Legacy vol. 2
Not too many people enjoyed this comic, but the series ended in a cliffhanger with Soleiyu being born, possibly hinting at Belmont's Revenge getting an adaptation..

Castlevania "Dracula Begins"
This was the teaser poster for the proposed CV movie that was announced a while back. 'Twas to be directed by Paul Anderson until the Writer's Strike took effect, then James Wan alledgedly showed interest, then who knows what happened with this.
Castlevania Resurrection
A lot of info of this is available on the web, but did it have potential to be one of the better 3D Castlevanias??

Dracula's Curse Animation
Would've been directed by Warren Ellis (http://castlevania.wikia.com/wiki/Dracula%27s_Curse_Animated_Movie), but for reasons unknown, the project was canned leaving us with what could've been..
(http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090622075109/castlevania/images/thumb/7/7b/Animated_Dracula%27s_Curse_Alucard.JPG/276px-Animated_Dracula%27s_Curse_Alucard.JPG)
Akumajo Dracula PS3/360
The infamous "Alucardvania," IGA's 3rd attempt to bring Castlevania to mainstream consoles in glorious 3D. Only thing we are left with is this ominous image of Alucard..

Yami no Juin manga vol. 3
This comic series was discontinued after two volumes for reasons that were never clarified. All that remains is the artwork that was to serve as Vol. 3's cover

America's pitch for the "new" CV title
Only thing we know about this is from what Cox has told us. I can't find the interview, but he basically said it was a game that Konami's American studio was creating, but never got greenlit.
SotN game.com port
If you were one of the 15 people that owned a game.com, would you have spent the extra cash on this?

I chose Akumajo Dracula PS3/360, if only for the fact it can be reworked into a downloadable 2.5D title. It has the most potential "resurrection" status. There's been a new downloadable title on every platform minus PS3, so maybe it could be reworked into that..

I chose the same one, but I would like it to be 3D.
-
I was the first to choose that..... and I too want a 3d game.
Don't choose Resurrection... as much of a Sonia fanboy that I am, I heard what the story was supposed to be... it made me cringe.
-
I chose the CoD manga vol. 3, but I also want the 3D Alucardvania (which may not have been cancelled yet, we still don't know its fate yet). I can't see why the CoD manga was canceled. I was just getting good. The only thing I didn't like was that if was from the point of view of that kid. It shouldn't have been that way.
-
i'd like to see 3D Alucardvania, but i've had many more years of wishing that Resurrection would have come out, so that outweighs it right now. plus, i still half expect the Alucardvania to come out in some fashion after the Mercury Steam titles have run their course.
there's a game that ended in a cliff-hanger that will probably never be resolved, which is Order of Shadows.
-
I know a lot of people were skeptical of the CV 3 animated movie, but I was really looking forward to it and I'm disappointed that it just disappeared off the face if the earth, even a confirmation of it being canceled at this point would be nice! So I voted for the cv 3 movie.
The other one I'd like to see is the ps3/360 Alucard game. There's probably more hope for that
-
I want to see Resurrection come into fruitation. It looked as though we were getting a more graphically superior version of CV64/LoD.
-X
-
I chose resurrection
because that was the reason why I bought a dreamcast.

Here here!
-
I chose Belmont Legacy vol.2 since Jorge's CVIII project wasn't an option for a vote. lol :)
-
I chose the Akumajo Dracula 360/PS3 cause it would have been sweet to have a 3D sequel to SOTN.
Plus it has the high chance of being resurrected in some shape or form ( If Dead Island can come back after 4 years of being vaporware and be the talk of the gaming community, anything is possible.)
-
I chose resurrection, because i bellieve a release of the game with todays technology, would be awesome and at the same time old school style game play and platforming, that we missed so much!!! About the scenario, it could be redone!!! I also remembering a reporter, asking IGA about Resurrection as a bonus game and IGA answering that if time allows it, it might hapen :P
-
Resurrection would be my second choice actually, after Akumajo Dracula PS3/360. I'm a fan of Sonia, she's an awesome character with lots of potential.
-
PS3/X360 IGA-vania! I was looking forward to that one. Hell, if he could learn some things from the level design seen in LoS, and put that to use, I'd love to see this title resurrect.
I still hate the idea of Resurrection(which is funny, considering I ended last paragraph with "resurrect"). They only way I'll acept it would be if they overhauled the plot(NO time travel, just set it in a chosen period that both Belmonts hail from), as well as the art direction(urgh, the character designs were bad). I don't mind Sonia or Victor being characters still(they were never my problem), as long as the whole time travelling is killed off. I mean, "a time where there's NO Belmont"? They would HAVE to be a Belmont, or else Victor would've never been born(LOL, or Richter for that matter).
-
Dracula's Curse Animated movie. Art and scenario were just awesome (apart they wouldn't have included Grant in the first movie).
-
I went with Resurrection. Story may have been somewhat silly, but the game looked great and seemed like it was gonna have TONS of atmosphere. The videos that are out there of this game are awesome IMHO.

Seconded. I wasn't down with the time travel or with Sonia's fugly redesign, but I was TOTALLY down with a Dreamcast Castlevania. I would've also flipped my shit for Bloodletting; if that had come out, I would've flat out refused to sell the 32X. It was probably for the best since the thing tanked, but it would've been a nice apology for our stripped down SNES game (or at least not attempting to port Rondo to, say, the Sega CD).
Of these, I'd really only go for the canceled games. Though, the Game.com SotN port looked awful, and having played CoD, the 360 IGA game would probably have been that with even more needlessly long corridors. C'mon, if it were 2.5D it would NEVER have a shot at being a retail game. Unless if (and this is a very big if) it were a Wii game, which, after Judgment, would just be begging for trouble.

"I don't know, my mind keeps getting violated by dark priests."
Kidding. I wanna see the Akumajou Dracula game for the PS3/360 revisited. With IGA in charge.
I'm gonna get flamed for this XD

Nah, you'll be fine. I wanna see that game too, and since IGA was making it I think he should finish what he started. It's been a while since we saw a proper IGAvania (stuff like Judgment, Encore and ReBirth doesn't count) and I'm also curious what he'd accomplish on a PS3 or 360.
-
I chose the Animated Movie, because I think that if it's going to be a movie, it may do better with animation or CG than with live-action. About that, though -- on the wiki page for the animated movie, it lists concept art of everyone. The strange thing is that they list Lisa, but I haven't been able to find her art. Was there ever art of her released, or was it just mislabeled?
As far as other things I'd of chosen, I'd really love to see the third CoD manga. I have the first two and really started getting into the story. Wasn't there supposed to be a Lament manga too? Or am I mixing that up with the cell phone manga?
I'd also like to see the Akumajo Dracula PS3/360 game. What I like about that trailer, though, is that a lot of it got re-used, didn't it? That cap of Alucard looks a lot like a shot of Hector from one of Curse's cutscenes, and the blade that he uses looks a lot like Shanoa's. Still, I really would have liked to see what they'd do with Alucard in 3D -- specifically what the storyline would have been.
I also agree with the comment about Resurrection's atmosphere. I fell in love with the cap of the dancing ghosts and the ballroom! Also, wtf female Dracula. I'd of loved to see the explanation behind that one, haha.
As for the live action movie...well, definitely not the script that's out now. I would, however, be all over the idea of the second, Trevor-centric draft. Both because I adore Trevor, and because I'm horribly interested to see how they would play Mathias and Dracula being separate people.
-
I voted wrong. My vote is for Resurrection because after looking at it, it has more of a gothic horror feel to it than most of the titles I have seen. If the PS2 titles were done with the layout of the castle in Ressurection we would have had a really good duo of games. Now that the technology is in a good place, the art can be overhauled to look less blocky and polygonish and the charcters don't have to be so dead and plastic looking.
-
I voted for Resurrection.
It needs to be resurrected!
-
Just a personal thinking, but is the Alcardvania REALLY cancelled? I mean, we just saw ONE trailer and that's it. We don't even know what it is, lol.
-
The animated movie! I still have hopes.....
-
The Alucardvania is probably dead considering how many years it's been. I really doubt they'd give IGA that much time.
-

Both Curse of Darkness and Order of Ecclesia were released before the Akumajou Dracula teaser trailer was released, so if anything it's probably the other way round - IGA recycled things/ideas from his previous games and put it into the teaser for the new game.
EDIT: Or maybe that's exactly what you meant? Lol. I'm tired. Whatever.
-
I know, how many of these projects are still in limbo? I think we can cross off the third volume of the CoD manga, but we never got any word regarding the animated movie, and seeming the live action movie is still on the sidelines. We never got ANY kind of confirmation about IGA's PS3/X360 game, and people at Konami seemingly are just as clueless.
-
It is clear that Resurrection has been cancelled, but there is no evidence that the Akumajo Dracula PS3/360 game has been cancelled.
I'm definitely going to get flamed for this :P but I'll say it nevertheless:
I'd like to see a game where Alucard turns evil, finally succumbing to the darkness as his father wanted. He double-crosses his team (think Captain N) and is revealed as the ultimate final boss of the game. And to top it all, the one to destroy him would be none other than.... Maria Renard. After defeating him, she goes insane and jumps off a cliff. It's almost as tragic as Alucard killing his own father (I'm a sucker for tragedies).
-
and then after all of that, you get to play a bonus prequel round as Alucard.
-
I picked Resurrection because I remember first thinking how cool it looked when I checked out the screenshots on this site. It seemed like it nailed the atmosphere. To me, it's one of those things that makes you almost feel regret for not being able to play it, I guess? :-\ I don't know. I think out of all the choices in this thread, I liked Resurrection best just because I saw the most of it. The US current-gen pitch would've been cool to see too, and Alucardvania as well.
-
I doubt I would have any faith in Akumajou Dracula if it's being made by IGA, so I chose the Belmont Legacy 2.. seriously is the most interesting CV cancelled project, I liked Legacy 1
-
The Castlevania movie is not cancelled.
In fact, we can receive TWO Castlevania movies: from Fanvision and from Konami.

My only problem with that 360/PS3 Alucardvania was that the trailer - quite frankly - looked like crap. Graphically it looked pretty much like a Dreamcast game. The fact that IGA was behind the game probably had nothing to do with it cause cutscenes usually looks good in his games.
-
Bloodletting and Resurrection.
-

Was it? Oh snap, I did not notice that! I just assumed from the graphics that it was released before Curse, since like you pointed out, they seem pretty dated. It also doesn't feel like it's been that long since Order of Ecclesia was released.
Well, figs to that then! :)
-
As much as it is impossible, I want to see Ressurection (because it's like action-oriented CV64 and this game is one of my favorite in the series) and CV32X or at least some srcaps of it.
-
Resurrection, of course! :D
-
Like most of the peopel on this topic i chose the PS3/Xbox360 Alucardvania.
I was so happy when i first saw the trailer and really wanted a Symphony sequel and instead we would get LOS (imagine my disapointment lol).
CV Resurrection would have to be a close second.
