Title: Cox is watching....
Post by: cecil-kain on March 14, 2011, 07:21:50 AM
When I visit the forum, I always like to check the "Who's Online" page --and every once in a great while, I see him.  He was here this morning again, lurking --looked at the Tsunami topic and appeared to leave shortly after that.  He hasn't posted in many, many months now, but his presence here made many of Dungeonites very happy.  Do you know who I'm talking about?

If its Cox then I hope he's read our complaints about LoS and all the things that were not likable with. And maybe with our ideas on what it could've been, we might see a much better sequel that doesn't include SotC/GoW game-play.

Wow, that'd be cool if Mr. Cox visits the CV Dungeon forums!

Mr. Cox, if it's real, please tell us! ;)

David Cox did post on here a couple times before, I asked him directly if Vampire Killer was in LoS, and then he posted some official artwork for us.

Another member on here actually works for Mercury Steam, but I can't remember his name. I always see a lot of guests lurking in the LoS thread, so I have always assumed they were Konami/MS employees. I think it's safe to bet they've seen our criticism, but I'm not expecting them to listen to all of it.

Cox.

Why bother even making a topic about this? He always lurks around. Big deal.

I doubt most of us know he's lurking around --that's the whole point.  Maybe he visits because he's bored, or maybe he's really interested in our views.  Until he speaks up, that's anyone's guess.

I remember people making a big deal about when he first showed up. He only bothered to post once and he probably only did it to create hype for the game. I think it's hardly something to be excited about.

Well if he is visiting, I hope he at least had a glance at any of my feverish anti-QTE posts.

I know for a fact that Cox was lurking the week after Lords of Shadows came out.  He was browsing some of the more popular threads at the time --including a couple polls I put together.  Trust me, he saw at least some of the criticism.  I'm not surprised he didn't respond, but I am surprised he came back to keep an eye on us --even now...

I think you misunderstand.  Oh well, text does sarcasm no justice.  If anything he's laughing *at* us.

If I were him I think I would be disgusted.

Then you as him, would have no sense of humor.

I just wouldn't have a crude sense of humor then.

I don't mean to get on a high horse or anything, but this sort of thing makes us look bad.  Regardless of how I feel about Cox, the man is a professional and we were pretty damn lucky to have him visit us here, answer some of our questions, and share exclusive content.  Most of us here are hardcore --how often do game developers visit fans on their own turf like that?  Quite frankly I'm surprised Konami even allowed it.  If we look like a bunch of tasteless disrespectful juveniles --I doubt he'd waste his time chatting here about current or future projects.

That's all.  *soap box done*

It was a disrespect and very very immature. We've mocked with IGA but certainly not like this. Ok yeah we have, we are morons with everybody  :P

As much as I love IGA, he never came down to The Dungeon to mingle.

I thought the picture was funny, and if it would have just stopped at "Cox is watching" that would be fine. But as I continued to read it I thought it was dumb. Now Cox is gonna find a way to prevent us all from playing Reverie. Thanks

I would edit the pic so that it just says "Cox is watching".
And I agree with Cecil-Kain that it makes us look bad and that it's juvenile...

...but I did laugh.

You know what?  I just went ahead and fixed it for all of you.

It's the same picture only it had the iconic ceiling cat phrase in its entirety (cat replaced by 'cox').
Title: Re: Cox is watching....
Post by: Vampire Killer on March 19, 2011, 07:17:19 PM
The original can be easily found by googling ceiling cat, it's a meme from FARK.com

The original poster was only copying it form fark, because of the thread title.  Still a dumb thing to do though, as i highly doubt Cox would understand it.

I guess I'd better go get the DLC and see what it's all about.

He was here again this morning --surely to guage our DLC reactions.  Perhaps this would be a good place for DLC feedback?
We could a make a thread with 'What fans would like to have in a sequel' or stuff like that. I'm sure it could help Mercury Steam and Konami.

Played it I give it a 4/5 solo on the fact that its a placeholder for the 2nd DLC

Yes, such a thread exist and is not very old at all.  Just reply to that thread and it'll necromantically return to the front page.
I will allow it since it's recent thread necromancy.
