Hi everyone quick question for you castlevania experts. I just started playing games in the series and so far I have completed SoTN & just finished Circle of the Moon yesterday. Lovin the games so far... oh and CV1 is still kicking my butt! I'll beat it one day....
I just started on Harmony of Dissonance for GBA (playing it on DS) and was just curious... since the game feels alot more like SoTN than CoM did (to me) are there a lot of the same breakable wall secrets in this game? To me it seems like there is not but I have only done about 25% of the first castle so far.
Also it seems the enemies do not drop items and equipment so far has just been found in various places...
I only ask because I dont wanna blind myself trying to find secret walls to break if none are there! :)
Thanks

There are hardly any breakable wall secrets at all in Harmony of Dissonance, but the enemies do drop plenty of stuff.

I forgot that I had already posted that in my other account. Sorry. It looks like my alt has been discovered :x

Great thanks for the infos!

you won't be able to break down any walls until you obtain the wall crush stone for your whip.

But do look for invisible passageways in walls and ceilings.

Oh yea I cant help but look for em but at least I dont feel the urge to whip every wall I see now...
Thanks for the helpful tips everyone!

Yeah, there is one particular spot in which you wouldn't think there'd be a secret room, but there is.
But no breakable wallmeat or anything like that. All breakable walls are specifically noticeable and are usually barriers.

Ah good to know for sure.. thanks!

I can only think of one breakable wall, and that's the heart one.

There's another one. It's where the skeleton cave meets the castle entrance.

Is that an actual breakable wall that leads to a room though? Or is it just a 'barrier' type of wall?
-
It's more of a barrier but the concept of a breakable wall is still there. I think there is also another breakable wall in the luminous caverns but i can't remember which castle it's located in.

I finished the game last weekend with 200% took 10hrs according to my save data file. Seemed pretty easy compared to CotM but I still enjoyed it. I thought the dual castle gimmick was pretty cool. A bit confusing confusing right at first but once I figured out what was going on I really enjoyed it.
Thanks for all the tips!
I started AoS last night and enjoying this one as well so far!

HoD is easier than CotM. I believe AoS is also easier. However, AoS is very fluid and quick, so it seems more fun to play than CotM and HoD at times.
-
There's also only one castle rather then 2 so AoS should progress that much faster for you. It's the soul collecting that will slow it down just enough.

I am already acting obsessive about getting the dang souls. I got three levels killing the same axe armor (the first one I ran across in the game) before he dropped a soul for me LOL.... I may have a long road ahead of me! I should have never printed out that soul hunting list ><

If you played SotN before you bought this game, then I'm sorry to say this but you wasted your money. This game is basically SotN duplicated to a lesser extent. Most of the same breakable walls and other secrets reappear in this installment along with a lot of the same room layout and enemy scenarios. It goes to such an extent to recreate SotN that it barley tries to set itself apart from the pack. Though so much is copied on the surface, it'll never give you the fun that was found SotN and is found in the other handheld titles. If I could give some advice it'll be to stop playing the game. 25% percent doesn’t sound like you wasted too much time. And maybe you can sell it and pick up Metroid Fusion or Zero Mission as they are much more worth your time. (the musics also shit)

There IS one good track though, and that is Sucessor to fate, Juste's theme. But yeah. the composer for HoD makes really messy music. I think he was the one who made the Graham boss theme from AoS. (another messy theme)

Harmony of Dissonance has always confused me. I mean, I thought women couldn't be Belmonts.

They can be...if a certain someone or someones at Konami would throw their male egos out the window.

I was making a joke by calling Juste a girl.

Christopher so deserved a place in Greatest Five above Juste. juste never even fought "real" Dracula, whereas Chris did twice, and saved his son the second time.
But yeah, Juste. Just... Juste. Last time I beat the game I had furnished the whole room, so in the ending Lydie is hanging off his arm while the three of them talk. The person watching me play said:
"So... Lydie is Juste's beard?"
That kind of says it all.

Battle for the Throne is by Takashi Yoshida, who contributed a couple of other dire battle themes. He's certainly not a composer of Soshiro Hokkai's ability. Hokkai's actual tracks (Black Sun, Premonition, Hammer Company, Fate of the Devil, You're Not Alone, Purification ~ Ending, and Staff Roll) are great, as before.
