Title: Soul Calibur V

I remember playing Soul Edge/Blade for the very first time way back in '96, it was very fun and unique at the time, I liked it a lot (doesn't Sophitia kick you in the balls & say "sorry.." lol). Then Soul Calibur came out for the Dreamcast, which was a day 1 purchase.. never owned any of the subsequent sequels, but I did play through the Gamecube version as Link which was pretty phat.

To this day I still haven't played part IV (yeah, I skipped out on the Darth Vader/Yoda craze ._.), but I might give this one a shot. I know little of the storyline, though.. except that it takes place in the 16th century and Christopher Belmont would've made an excellent addition to the cast as a guest character amirite?

IV was cool with customization and unlockable stuff, could have had more modes of play though. I hate when fighting games include outside characters so I wasn't too hot on the Star Wars ones. Especially how cheap Yoda and the apprentice were. I am looking forward to this one.

SCII and III on the ps2 were fricking excellent. Haven't played IV properly due to absence/unaffordability of PS3/X360. Remember Soul Edge/Blade back in the arcades in the 90's along with Battle Arena Toshinden.

I played Broken Destiny on the PSP which wasn't IV proper, but it was a rebalanced version and it was okay, but I prefer III. I wish Namco had done their homework and cleaned up all the glitches in III because it could have been the high point in the series imo. I still prefer it to any of the others.

Still, I guess we'll have to see how V turns out. The series has been nosediving in one way or another since II, so hopefully they can pull it out of the shitter a bit.

For the life of me, I've never been able to understand the plot of the SC games. xD

Never really was a fan of SC. I have 2 for the gamecube, mainly cuz it has Link in it....I was a kid at the time, gimme a break.

Ivy should so have a son

who shares her unique fashion sense.

Well, there's already Voldo who is basically what Ivy is progressively turning into, apparel-wise.

I honestly always preferred Ivy's George Washington outfit.

The less clothes she has, the better.
I can't wait to see her fighting in shoestrings. :P
(Isn't she gonna be, like, 80, in SCV though? SAG-CITY!)

Shoestring bikini!!!

I am so looking forward to this! And the new guy look promising.
Really liking the new direction of Soul Calibur, for the longest time it was always about Siegfried and his struggles with Nightmare. Hopefully with this new character, it will bring the story to a new depth. I can foresee Tira playing a larger role in the new installment.

Sophitia's son is the main character?

Why?

And how are they going to include older characters? 17 years later is a ALOT of years and most of the older cast are going to be looking really "aged".

I'm happy that we are finally getting a new Soul Calibur since I am a HUGE fan of the series, BUT this newer direction has not won me over just yet. I will have to wait untill a more detailed Trailer comes out I suppose.

lol. They should just stop with the whole song and dance and just put out an x-rated version if they would do that. A spin off series for the fans that are a particular kind of fan.

Don't be silly, you know we like the tease more than anything else.
(and I've yet to see a game that incorporates nakedness without it looking like a bad 3D model job)
