Title: Uh oh, looks like the hackers are at it again

Well done Sony, well done. You have successfully lost my and probably thousands of others trust. Give yourself a pat on the back, you are fucked. Oh well, at least the welcome back package is still up....but very glitchy and full of errors where downloads miraculously disappear....boy oh boy Sony's on a role ain't it?! Honestly, was anyone surprised about this?

I just think these hackers need to stop their bullshit. If you got a major problem with something like a company, that's fine, but when it effects millions of people, that's just messed up. These dicks just need to stop

Okay, son of a *expletive*. This is seriously pissing me off. It's not Sony I'm pissed at this time. It's the hackers. They're jerks and deserved to be burned alive like Lisa. :\

I wonder what would be the reaction if it were Microsoft getting hacked. Hmmm?

Well, considering I own a 360 also, and Harmony of Despair isn't on PSN yet (though it was confirmed)... I'd be pretty pissed still.

errr. How can u not be pissed on sony? I mean, its their job to save all our things from hackers. So i really dont get you...
Are u gonna pissed on a bandit who stole most of your thinks or are u pissed of the, lets say 10 police officer´s, who are right there and just watch and not do their job for what they get paid...?

I understand that there are people out there that are better than a company's security service (and believe me, I know), and sometimes that person is so good the company can't stop them. But why do they seriously have to do it again.

What I don't get is why everyone assumes Sony's just not doing anything about it. People need to understand, there are people out there who are better than the companies. :\

EDIT: I just realize how badly I worded my original post. o.o

Here's what I meant: [Okay, son of a *expletive*. This is seriously pissing me off. It's not just Sony I'm pissed at........]

There. That's what I meant. My bad.

Xbox 360 isn't a bad idea. It's online service is better than Sony's (as in, no hackingnessness), but the online service isn't free. The controller, while it is bad, it's an improvement from the hulking mass that was the original Xbox's controller. Plus, this one will eventually grow on you. (Not literally, and note that the d-pad on the Xbox controller is terrible).

I play often xbox when im visiting a friend of mine. Playing Black Ops or Test Drive...I always need like 20minutes to handle this controller. And i never had problems to handle a controller except xbox one...Its so big...used a psx controller since ps1 came out. So its a mess with the xbox colors for me.lol  And the 2 sticks looks like they just put it on a free place. The controller is already a game for me...
But ya...online service looks very good to me.

Well, in my opinion, I like the placement of the sticks on the 360, it's just more convenient on a PS3. And PS3's got a better d-pad.

Online service is great and easy to use, but for the interesting stuff and the ability to play online, you gotta pay. I guess that's one reason its not as hackable.

Well if Microsoft did the same thing as Sony where not only would they get hacked once, they would promise protection and then get hacked again then yeah I would be infuriated with them. Don't think I'm a Microsoft fan boy, I treat all consoles equally with their own advantages and disadvantages. Now Sony's disadvantage with me is that they can't be trusted with protecting personal info.

You CAN get 3rd party controllers that are sometimes way better than the stock 1st party controllers.

This exactly. They have some that are modded and put in the style of PS3 controls, even with a better d-pad. I can't afford one though, sadly.

3rd party video games. Like Castlevania. I dunno if that counts, though.

Could ya bring that into another topic....that kinda doesn't pertain to Sony being hacked.

Reminds me of the Sega 16 boards and site, that place has already been hacked 3 times within a couple weeks. The hosting aka The Next Level, dropped them from their services. If someone's got beef with you, and the appropriate hacking tools, nothing you can do will stop them if they are determined.

You know it's sad when Nintendo's online system is more protected than Sony's:
http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/nintendo-servers-attacked-no-customer-info-stolen/ (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/nintendo-servers-attacked-no-customer-info-stolen/)
Not saying the wii is BAD, I am just saying its surprising cuz they have to have the most awkward online system outta the 3 consoles.

Lol. This with Nintendo is awsome...Perfect Timing?
Like i already said it in another post bevor, I wouldnt be suprised, if Microsoft paid them to hack sony. But for sure, microsoft is coming with some statement like "we were also beeing attacked, but there was no chance to get some infomations..." at the same time some advertisment down there "buy MS security" or something like that...

I still find it ridiculous that people choose to be loyal to any of these big electronics hardware/software companies.  Microsoft and Sony don't care about you...the little guy.  They just want your money.  They care just enough to keep you from spending your money elsewhere (and sometimes not even then).  I own a PS3 and a 360 not because I love Sony or Microsoft...but because I wanted to play games that are available on those respective consoles.

Tis why I am only loyal to my 11 consoles, yeah the Wii, PSP, and DS are modern, but the other 8 I don't have to worry about hackers because they have no online. :)

So, you are saying u just pay something, doesnt matter wth is behind that?
That is like u would say, " I just wanna wear shoes, doesnt matter who the heck it made --> kids..."
anyways. xbox is the only thing i dont own...Not cuz i dont like Microsoft or cuz love sony. Just cuz i dont like xbox...

well.. certainly people have the right to be mad at sony... since sony was warned several occasions (I've read one of them) that they weren't making deal with a competent security enterprise (ironically if you want real security you get a hacker to work)

this is quite amusing...

though i'm not sure.. but did sony withdraw the use of linux OS in some of their consoles, heavily damaging the homebrew aplications, just because of fear of piracy (ironically by doing this they opened the door to piracy)  not completely sure in this though. it's not like they weren't being jerks.

well, anyways... as an owner of a ps3... i don't care much since i have it just to blu ray and play some awesome singleplayer console exclusives (such as Castlevania) and ps3 exclusives (such as demon's souls and heavy rain). online gaming is still better on PC. (really, not a big fan of 360s... at this point you can purchase a pretty competent pc for a similar price... add what you are not paying extra for the online support)

No.  What I'm saying is that I am a fan of GAMES...not consoles.  I buy consoles because that's the only way to play these games.  And yea...I do wear shoes without really giving a damn who made them.  If they are comfortable, that's all I care about.  I don't care for Microsoft, and I really can't stand Sony...but I can't exactly stick my copy of LoS into my Gamecube, now can I?

I just think game console fanboys are a product of gross immaturity of the worst kind.

I'm not very informed about this but according to the versions I heard Sony had it coming, but the hackers don't give a damn about the users. They probably are doing this so people stop using the PSN, and I guess it's working.

But weren't these the guys that did the first PSN hack? I thought the second hack was someone else.

I dunno. This was posted just yesterday on a forum I frequent. I assumed it was they were the same people, but I dunno.

I find all this talk of Anon as an organization to be very amusing.

the whole point of Anon is really just a status on 4chan and it's spin offs. Anyone who posts anonymously, is an Anon.
this anonymous community is composed of all members, and none. Anyone who posts anonymously. But they arent an organization.

Only when a bunch of Anons got together to form Project Chanology did they gain any semblance of an organization. And even then it was really just protesting while hiding their identity.

I blame whatever group of Anons started the chanology website for strengthening the notion of them as an organization. (an idea already in place ever since Fox new' report of them as "hackers on steroids" )

In MY opinion, Sony is just using them as a scapegoat to place the blame on.
