Ive recently been thinking. Wouldnt it just sound weird to just call the game "the demon castle wars"? It completely breaks with CV naming tradition, especially the kind that came about with Rondo. where CV games get these "poetic" sounding names like Symphony of the night/Nocturne in the moonlight, or Aria of Sorrow/Minuet of Dawn.
If a Julius game were to be released, You cant just name it after the event! Thats too simple! What "Castlevania" subtitle would you give it?
personally, I think something that would indicate how this is the peak. the final battle. maybe a name involving Eclipse, Black/Red moon, or some such thing.

A while ago on this forum, I came up with the title Overture of Destruction and a lot of people liked it for the 1999 game. Makes sense seeing how it's a war and Dracula is suppose to be at his all time most powerful.

I actually like and prefer the name Demon Caslte Wars battle of 1999.
But If I had to give It a "poetic" type of name mine would be Eclipse of the Dawn or something like that.
As long as it involves Eclipse in the name somehow.

I still think that "Finale" should be used in some way, since it signifies the end of ol' Draccy.
I don't think we should use "Sorrow" again, since the Sorrow series revolved around Soma. Julius would probably have to get his own little subtitle ending.

I`d like the word ″sorrow″ in the title, not ″war.″ As it would be the first game of the sorrow trilogy, I`d suggest Overture of sorrow.
Also, with the musical terms: Rhapsody of sorrow or Waltz of sorrow.
I hope it would be a 2D game. That is the only Castlevania I want to play. Can`t Konami bring IGA, Ayami Kojima and Michiru Yamane, our great trio back together to go out with a bang? A game that brings Dracula to this huge endpoint, that has played out in the timeline and has been playing out in our imagination for many years. We deserve it. Dracula deserves it. The solar eclipse is waiting!!!!

Dunno. While including Sorrow in the title is a neat way to "prequel" the sorrow series, I still feel it should be an original title not dependent on "sorrow"

Personally the "Sorrow" terminology fits in well with the Soma games, but Soma isn't in the 1999 battle. The title should properly reflect the game its adhered to. The 1999 game is about the demon castle war. It's war. The title should be catchy, fast-paced and expressive. "Sorrow" more 'n less doesn't express war in general, but the war's aftermath which is what the Soma games were about.

Simon's quest and Dracula's curse were also short titles but they expressed what the games were about. It doesn't need to be long in order to fit the criteria. It just needs to work.

If this game is a Metrovania, it would be pretty cool if it played similarly to Circle of the moon where you have limited resources and no access to shops. Either that or a new level by level game like CV1, 3, 4, and DX.

Completely off-topic, but you just reminded me of the Hammer film, Dracula A.D. 1972. Very cheesy (dreadful, really) but still worth a watch. Even featured a character called Johnny Alucard.
