Title: Richter Belmont Arcade-style sprite (And Miscellaneous others)
Post by: X on June 26, 2011, 03:42:49 PM
Did this little guy up last night. I hope I can figure out the image upload feature.

Sweet!! It worked! Tell me what you think. By the way Claimh Solais If you want to show your version of a Richter arcade sprite go ahead and post it here  :)

You got it!
You can set up a mask color with a PNG Alpha Channel, if you don't want the pink to show (or just palettize the image and set the palette color to the pink).

Nice jorb!  Is it from scratch?

Surly you recognize the pose of non-other then Lancelot. I had to get creative on some parts but the pose is not mine. I guess you could say that about 75% is custom.

I just had to make sure, because sometimes stuff resembles other stuff without it being an edit.
It's still a nice job. :)

Lancelot? Like, Sir Lancelot? What game is it from?
Also, great job! Looks awesome!

I have quite a few different sprite characters I did over the years. I made one of Sypha using the thief character from D&D SoM as a base. It's essentially Sypha during her early years before the Cyclops turned her to stone so she doesn't quite look the same as her CV3 counterpart. I'll see about uploading it.

Here she is. Just keep in mind that this is an almost complete recolor with little alterations. I was working on another version but never got around to finishing her.

Eww... too masculine for Sypha!

Richter's pretty awesome though.

[Egoraptor LA Noire voice] Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiit! [/Egoraptor LA Noire voice]

That's badass, X! I don't think I'll be able to beat that. ^^

Hah! This Sypha render is still a toothpick compared to my personal tastes. Her muscle definition is not so much muscle as is being athletic. Anyone who monster-hunts for a living like Sypha will end up with noticeable bulk. but everyone has there own taste  :) I could show you the type of woman I like but that might freak you out even more  ;D

Well, is it just me, or are her pants just too... puffy? That's the only problem I see, other then the excess of blue.

Sounds like it would XD

But, you forget, she's a magician. She doesn't need super agility or strength, she can stand there and flick her fingers sending out flaming walls of DEATH!

How true. But when she runs outta hearts/ammo then she's got no choice but to either run, or deal out some serious beat-downs with her stick  >:(

The excess of blue is for nostalgic purposes as that's what her CV3 showed. I wanted for her sprite to have a bit of resemblance to her CV3 self. Her poofy leggings are something I left cause at the time I wasn't all that good at rendering pixels and such. I probably could fiddle around with this sprite some more and see what develops. The original sprite was that of a thief and those poofy pants are somewhat like a ninja would wear as baggy clothing would present a problem and a hazzard. But you know guys, don't just let me have all the fun here. Show me you're sprites too. It can even be a character you invented. Claimh Solais, I want to see how you can handle a Richter arcade sprite variation. please?? My version's not top-notch so don't worry about being perfect. Just have some fun along the way.

Oh, I'll definitely give it a shot. ^^
Well, not right now. It's like 4AM where I am. I just finished watching the entire Devil May Cry anime so I'm off to sleep. ^^

I'll try to get something tomorrow, if I get around to it.

A slow magician is a dead magician.

Case in point; Yoko has the most effective backdash in DoS. Mages are light weight for a reason. They cant just stand there and take punishment. Even realistically, with those powers you are by no means all powerful or immune to damage. You have to be quick on your feet, because what you are fighting is also potentially fast, and strong beyond you.

Unless you can cast some kind of barrier or forcefield spell... but yeah usually they wear light outfits in order to be faster on their feet.

I might as well bring up some more sprites I did a while back. This was when I had a craving for doing something Contra-ish. These pics are of Sheena Etranzi (my fav). The first pic is actually that of Hanna Dundee from Cadillacs & Dinosaurs. Her gun is custom as i was going by the Contra Hardcorps image of her weapon.

For the next pic I had gone with Rogue as the template. Her weapons is semi-custom as the base (M-16) came from the Capcom game "Captain Commando".

The final pic of Sheena came from Psylocke. Her weapon is also semi-custom and is essentially "kit-bashed". I borrowed the weapons from the GBA game called Zoids. This version of Sheena sort of harks back to her C: HC design in that she has very little clothing on. This one even less.

This on looks dead on to the Genesis version! Great work!

Like Jorge said, speed is not needed. It's a nice supplement, but definitely not needed. Not to mention magicians have something gamers like to call.. buffs! They don't need to muscle up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that's what Jorge meant.

Sure he did. He said it's not necessary, though it's not something that would not help.

EDIT: "Though, it wouldn't hurt!" Thats what I was trying to say.
