as you've might've heard by now, the LEGENDS 3 Project has officially been canned. Capcom issued a letter of apology, basically saying that "it's nothing personal folks, just business."
this sucks cuz I went out of my way to repurchase Legends 1 & 2 just so I can prepare for 3. pretty much all the input added by the fans has been for absolutely nothing.
I guess the only other game to look forward to now is DmC lol

I love how they keep insisting how important Mega Man is to Capcom... and then proceed to cancel everything he's involved with that isn't a cameo or a book.
I know this won't bring MML3 back, but who wants to join me in torrenting DmC when it's inevitably leaked on the internet? (I can't play it like that, it's just out of pure, venomous hatred.)

I stated my peace in the other thread. This sucks indefinitely.
Whenever a business says something like, "It's business, it isn't personal." it IS personal, as far as the fans are concerned. Especially when those businesses have no qualms about investing their bad games. It's just one of those accounts how these once-great companies have totally lost their edge.

Capcom just continues to disapoint.
First they reboot one of my favorite gaming series DMC and a very lame matter.
Then they give us xbox360/ps3 fans a Resident evil game that just feels like a modded Socom game that added resident evil characters.
And now they have canceled MML3 *facepalm*.
This just further goes to show you that Capcom does not give a damn about the fans 1 bit IMO.
Its all 100% about the money and nothing else even matters to them.
Its pretty evident considering their recent actions since All the points I pointed out above where all "just business" also.

I really have been missing the X,Zero,and ZX series as of late.
Its seems as if Capcom will never get back to them at this point given how little they care about the series now.

I never really cared for the Legends games, but this is yet another sad example of what Kenji Inafune was talking about... The Japanese game industry is in decline. The businessmen running these companies are avoiding creative risk and stifling innovation --not to mention skunking the fans. These fools need a heavy handed reminder that they are in the business of selling art.

^^^ That's sad, actually, because that's where Hollywood is right about now. I just heard they cancelled the Dark Towers movies(which seemingly was going to be head by Ron Howard). A bit back, they also cancelled Guillermo Del Toro's "At the Mountains of Madness", which Del Toro said was one of the movies he always wanted to do, and wanted to keep as true to Lovecraft's original story as possible. It really IS sick how suits think. Del Toro mentioned, prior to getting James Cameron to help him produce(which STILL resulted with the project being canned), when he'd pitch his story to the studios, they all said, "We'll only greenlight the project if you add a romance, make it PG-13 and set it in modern times!!". Del Toro basically said, "Fuck you, this movie HAS to be set in the era Lovecraft wrote it to be, no romance and Hard-R!!! No exceptions!!". Really, is this what art and enjoyment has become? It's really kinda sad. I'd totally be up for a major revolution on art and entertainment. Burn the suits, remove their influence from the equation. I know someone will say, "But it's a business, and business's sole purpose is to make money!", which is seemingly the default excuse post hippie-PC world. Of course, pimps and drug dealers are also out to make money, and you can justify it by saying, "Hey, they need to eat and put food on their table!". Sure, it's deemed "illegal" and the businesses are doing it legally, but either way, someone's getting screwed. Just because someone's screwing you legally doesn't make it any better. :)
Like I say, no one has the balls to do anything anymore. The sole trend of rebooting things is proof of that.

This is the third Megaman project cancelled this year, and the one I was highly anticipating too. Fuck you Capcom, I don't care if it was for "business purposes", they could have AT LEAST released the demo and see what happened from there.

Because they are butthurt that Inafune pretty much hit home when he badmouthed Capcom's policies and the Japanese gaming industry in general. So they are canceling anything he started before leaving.

First they Ruin Resident evil, making the game NOT resident evil
Then They Destroy MvC with 3, making all the characters have the same strategy to winning (air combo into hyper)
They Trash Street Fighter by Releasing 2 with 3d gfx and call it 4, give us more characters and 6 Ryus
They Kill off Megaman Universe, Legends 3, and soon Online (its a matter of time)
DmC is the only thing left, and Its already on thin glass.
Capcom in now Crapom.

Apparently some of the larger video game companies work on a system of periodic evaluations where by if you don't make the cut at one of these points your project gets nuked. Seems pretty retarded to me to waste time and resources on stuff you aren't really committed to.

Its also in part due to developers backing away from the 3DS recently due to expectations that it will not be a huge success.

The new DmC has received a overwhelming negative reaction from DMC fans and yet Capcom seems to not care.
In fact, in one interview they said they KNEW it would be met with a bad reaction but push foward with that in mind.

^^^ Like I said, what is WRONG with these companies. It goes hand-in-hand with my rant, "Stop sucking!!". They are making this fuckin moves that, you gotta be blind to not see they are WRONG. I mean, hell, EVERYBODY'S calling them on it. Fans not involved? MML3 had MASSIVE fan interaction. You had a shitload of people sending them designs for robots and such. It's was probably one of the biggest "fan-feedback-shaping-the-game's-development-WHILE-game-is-still-in-development" examples EVER. And yeah, the DmC thing is the opposite. Hell, even Ninja Theory, funny enough, wanted to make Dante with his classic look. Capcom told them to totally do something new. After they announced it, fans hated the look. They are still going through with it. WTF? Like I mentioned earlier, the last in-game footage they showed for the new DmC game looked uninspiring, and worse than DMC4. At first, I actually thought it might've been ported to the Wii, because it looks pretty bleh for PS3/X360. Come on, Capcom, you can do good things if you, well, TRY. Why do you WANT to suck? Are you just too tired of our money? You just don't care to appeal to your fans who stood by you through all the years? Don't you love us anymore? Well, then, STOP SUCKING!!!

I second you guys! Thank you Christian, for taking the time to come on here, pretty much as soon as you got home! O_O
I still have major issues with Capcom Europe and the people responding via their Twitter.
In response to an article from the MMNetwork, rarely did I see any real effort from them to push the Devroom, or the MML3/Prototype projects, nay even make solid connections with Capcom's family of websites to really create a buzz or melting pot for European Mega Man fans. All they seem to care about is Moto GP, Resident Evil and stuffing Japanese producers with donuts and bloomin Ferrero Rocher!!
Are there live streams from Capcom Europe? NO. Capcom USA steps up to the plate. I hope there are more efforts from my side of the pond to take initiative and handle our own regional events and to start streaming tournaments, events (Excel, Gamescom, etc), interviews with producers and to generally make a dent on the European market. Maybe even have Seth or yourself come over here, meet our teams and introduce yourselves properly! (Sven, you got the Euro roots, come on.. )
The only thing I can commend Capcom Europe on, is their growing improvement with live events and launch parties. They have attempted to make a conscious effort to make a start with Fight Clubs. I can only hope they follow Unity's example and pull out the stops with community involvement that does not include bribery.
Their forums continue to remain stagnant. Unity seems to be the only place where any real visible effort is made and your strong, public, SOLID connections with the Japan office are undeniable.

Considering that statement by Capcom Europe has been met with a HUGE negative backlash I am willing to be Capcom Japan is going to throw Capcom Europe under the bus and say that they disagree with them and do not think that it was the fans fault.

Also, apparently, CyberConnect2's CEO (Cyberconnect is behind Asura's Wrath along with capcom) said that given the chance, he would love to design Legends 3.

So- given Capcom doesnt listen to the fans, THERE IS YET HOPE.
They also made a game called Solatorobo, which is apparently VERY like Legends.
the games themselves are like Mega Man Legends because you enter dungeons, collect treasures and fight against bad guys and trying to prevent a weapon of mass destruction from ancient times from destroying the world.
Sounds like L1, dont it?
