I've been reading topics on other forums that have been bashing the very idea of the PSVita's backwards touch screens.
So, I've concluded:
Sony makes a console that has a touch screen on the back panel: "(ಠ益ಠ) THAT IS SO LAME!"
In an alternate Reality, Nintendo comes up with the idea first: "(゚д゚) INNOVATION! OMG!"

It sounds like it could be a cool idea. We'll see.
-
It's actually a touch pad, not a touch screen.

Nobody except main gaming sites and big time fans of Nintendo really said anything about the Wii being "Innovative". A lot of people bashed that system too along with the DS. Hell they are doing the same thing right now with the 3DS(though I could kinda see why at this time) and the Wii U. Innovation is one thing but I think Nintendo is kinda getting Gimmicky now, though I would like to see where both systems stand in the future.
Anyway enough on Nintendo and their problems, the Vita looks pretty neat. That whole touch pad on the back has me scratching my head though, how will it be used? I just don't really see much of a point but I could be wrong.

The developers will figure a way to use it. I just hope games can disable it if it's not used.
-
its a good idea, imo. but I won't be gettign a vita. Atleast very unlikely.
-
Some ideas that I've read for what the touch pad could be used for is L2/R2 buttons, or maybe a way to make grass grow under a golf ball in a golfing game.
There's not very much you could use it for. It's hard to see what you're doing back there, it might make some gamers uncomfortable.
I sure can't think of any ways to use such a device.

Very basic movements.... like most of the touchscreen usage.
A swipe up and down, left and right, diagonal, tapping, drawing circles. That's a lot to work with already, as this is like 80% of touchscreen usage anyway.

i heard the vita will be the size of a gamegear, is it true?

From what I recall, they said it'll be a little bigger than the PSP Fat (1000 series)
I just hope its lighter than that because the 1000's are not fun on the hands after an hour.

It's lighter.

My only question is how much this thing is going for. The only thing I can even remember is how it was able to play a scene of MGS4 at twenty frames per second so I can say that it is powerful but for what price is it like three hundred dollars possibly more and is the price tag final?
-
250 was the price named. ATT was the network announced for it.
