Title: Best deal on a Castlevania game?
Post by: Desmond on August 14, 2011, 10:51:29 PM
This forum is too awesome, I love the top banner.

Anyways, I just picked up a black-label SotN at a thrift store yesterday for dollar, so I was just wondering; what was the best deal you guys have ever gotten on any Castlevania game?

Only games? Boxed CV1 for 25 cents. Beat that.

Obviously,

Considering the fact that its a free pirated game. :P

But I think this guy was referring to "Legal" good deals on a Castlevania game.

Indeed.
I think Crisis' deal was pretty cool.
I picked up a boxed CV1 for $15 and that was like 15...years ago! xD

I distinctly remember this time walking into a Game Crazy store with my girlfriend and I saw SNES Dracula X there for $25. What's really retarded of me is I didn't buy it... for whatever reason... I bought something else? Wow, that was dumb.

I only saw it there that one time, and I returned several times and asked the guys if they had the game. It eventually got to the point where I'd walk in and when the guy behind the counter would see me, he'd immediately volunteer the information, "No, I'm sorry. We don't have Castlevania X."

To this day I have never owned that game and there have been times when I've really wanted it, too.

I know, I know, but I couldn't resist.

I actually got Dawn of Sorrow for free, from ebay. The person I bought the game from failed to deliver it to me like he promised (he "forgot" maybe 7 or 8 times) so when I finally got the game (after maybe a month), there was a "sorry" note included, and all my money too, without me even asking for it. :D

However, later that year I bought Suikoden 5 from ebay too. Never got the game nor my money back either. When something good happens, bad stuff is always just around the corner :(

Other than that I got a MINT copy of Simon's Quest for less than 20$ a few years ago. I don't dare to even touch the box.

Bought Super Castlevania for five dollars with the box art, instructions and poster that shows other konami games in a small, cramped and somewhat beat down store and while I know this is only best deals on castlevania I found two other great games (mario3 and earthworm jim),a somewhat disappointing one(Megaman X7) and a Snes controller (no more fc twin controllers :D). But castlevania just shocked me I was searching for quite a while for it the only retrogame place never had it, but a store within a walking distance from me had it for who knows how long.

Best deal I ever got for a castlevania game was when I purchased a playstation for only 20 dollars.

It came with Castlevania Symphony of the Night and Castlevania Chronicles.

I paid $14 for mine... Ah well, I'm glad to support local retro game stores.

I paid full price for it, but the Castlevania double pack was an awesome deal.

People who could keep playing Order of Shadows on the offical website by refreshing the page probably got the best deal.
