The DS game is confirmed but are there any Konami media events coming up that might reveal a new console CV game?

I heard 360 is next, rumors thogh I think, as I think IGA did say he'll try to go for console but hes unsure. But I think its likely 360 as its so widespread in US and thats where most of CV fans are.

PS3 I have heard/read. A Wii game would be interesting. That controller would make a nifty whip.

I REALLY hope they don't make it for any of those 3 next-gen consoles because I don't have any of them, nor do I have any desire to get them, only one would be to get a new CV, even if it sucked and costed me tons of money, but that is all due to my obsessive-compulsive physical NEED to own everything Castlevania that there is!!!

I hope they do, for 360 cuz I've got it. Not for the wii though, cuz I can't see myself wanting to get one or playing cv on that type of console. But I hope they put a good deal of time and money in it.

Tough. Now that all of the next gen systems are out and have been for awhile, there's little to no luck of new games being developed for the PS2. Gamecube and Xbox are completely obsolete now, and PS2's gonna be obsolete by next March.
I personally have all 3 next gen consoles so I don't mind which one it goes to.

They really should just put it on both. Makes everyone happy. But, if it had to be on only one I want it to be for the PS3.....just cause I'm already getting one for MGS4

I hope they make it for either the 360 or the Wii. I don't have a 360 yet, but intend to get one so I can play Ninja Gaiden II, and more imporantly Dynasty Warriors 6.

I hope it's for the 360 or they release it on multiple consoles like CoD including the 360, as I've already got one and don't want to spend the megabucks to get a PS3 or use the Wiimote.

The Wii will most likely end up being the console with the largest installed user base though. If Konami had to pick one console for the release of the next console Castlevania game, the Wii would be the best bet. Motion sensitive controls probably won't be "mandated" after another year or so either. The stylus control stipulation for the DS didn't last for more than the first year of the DS's release.

I remember IGA stating that the next console CV would be on 360. Earlier, they did have plans for a Ps3 version, but I'm not so sure about those plans now...

Apparantly, he states that the 360 is now the best choice, becuase it is the best way to sell to the American market. He also states, though, that if MGS4 were to sell Ps3's on a large basis, that CV would go to Ps3...

For me, game systems are usually decided by whatever system Castlevania releases too. The only one that wasn't, was the PS3. I bought a PS3 beacause I liked my PS1 & PS2 so much.
DS Lite was bought for Dawn of Sorrow, the HoD/AoS double pack.
I bought a PSP slim for DXC. I bought a PS2 for LoI. I bought an xbox for CoD at the time.
If the new game were to release on xbox360 I would get one, but that's probably the only reason. I really don't want a 360.
I hope it's duel released to the PS3 as well.

Wat??! But Wii is $250!!!! I can't even afford that, let alone anything more, and I don't feel like asking for any of those things for next Chrismas, or whenever the game comes out!

Well, the 360 Arcade package is $279.99...but still, its not like the next CV's landmark is set in stone. Anything could happen between now and the eventual press release...

Personally I would be happy if I could afford any of the three systems, but it matters not as we all know the next Castlevania game is going to be for the Atari 2600. With it's ability to display 3 colours at one time and good old 4 bit sound, they would be fools to pass it up. :)

Eh. Wii was an early Christmas present, the 360 I bought on my own, and the PS3 I got for $130 after employee discount of of a refurbed 60 gb, store credit from a few trades, and a gift card.

I hope it's for the Wii or PS3. Personally I think these two systems have a bright future.
But I'd buy any Castlevania game if it's really good, no matter what console it goes.

I really hope the next console game isn't anything like Curse of Darkness. In fact, when I bought my consoles I wasn't even looking forward to a Castlevania on either of them.
The Wii I got for Zelda, Metroid and Smash.
360 I got for Oblivion and Fable 2
and PS3 I got for Folklore and Heavy Rain (when it comes out).

I just hope that if it comes out for the 360 then it should come out for the ps3 abit later. Im not buying anymore games for the 360 since Ive already went through 3 of them. I really do hate the red ring that appears for no reason what so ever. And Im not buying anotehr one since microsoft admited all 360's will do that.

I hear ya, I normally sell a bunch of stuff to get my new consoles too, the pricing especially the PS3 is ridiculous, 600 bucks for a console is way to much, that's almost as much as I paid for my supercomputer.

Y'know, even though I loved that game, I agree with you. I hope the next console is bit more....open and free with more than just those tight linear paths.

And more Castlevania and less knock-off DMC. Dracula and Trevor could have been taken completely out of it and there would have been nothing in that game that was even remotely Castlevania-ish.

eh... CoD had bad lvl design, and the fighting/motion wasn't fluid (only I really care about this though) other than that its a fine game. Not the best, but I liked it quite a bit.
EDIT: Oh yea, I find it funny that they're saying its DMC-esque... I remember when DMC first came out alot of people called it something like a 3d castlevania.

Yeah I'm not feeling the DMC thing at all if anything I think CoD has a big oldschool castlevania feel to it, it feels alot like Legend of Demon Castle with all the outdoor levels.

Well in Dynasty warriors though you level up insanely slow and you can't really do any combo's so it gets old fast. In CoD you get the innocent devils to play with and you get to constantly build new weapons from parts as well as encounter bosses from time to time, and your constantly encountering new obstacles and kinds of enemies. Also the environment is constantly changing too cuz you go all over Europe. I don't know the gameplay to me didn't really feel any diff. than LOI or SOTN. That part in baldjet mountains where you have to use a mage innocent devil took me forever to figure out as well as accessing the 2nd tower in the forest. Dynasty warriors only consists of constantly killing swarms of enemies, CoD had alot more depth to it than just kill everything that moves. I can understand finding it boring, but I think it's quite a bit diff. then Dynasty warriors.

^ I didn't really care for III personally, it just felt like one boss fight after another, they really should have balanced out the difficulty more.

I didn't say it was too hard for me, it's just boring cuz every thing takes like 1000 hits to kill it. If the difficulty was balanced better I might have more fun, but it seems like all the programmers tried to do was make it take an eternity to get anywhere. I've beaten games 1000 times harder than that, hell the nes castlevania's, LoI and CoD make that game look like nothing, the death fight in the first one, figuring out how to get the best ending in 2, the doppleganger fight in 3, the bigass dude in LOI who gives you the black crystal and the white creature that comes out of the legion in CoD are all way harder than anything in DMC III, it just isn't balanced well is alls I was sayin'. :)

Me too :?, the first one pretty much established that it takes place in it's own universe with totally different types of demons/servants and a different devil than us. Hell I don't even think there is a god in the DMC universe.

Um... no. Are you talking about DMC2? That's the game where every boss had like 3 life bars. DMC3 is reknowned as being really hard because americans have to start on a mode that is the unlockable hard in japan. If you think LoI and CoD are harder than DMC3 you are insane. I beat EVERY boss in both of those games my first try, except Drac's 2nd form in CoD. Seriously, they even had to take the difficulty downs for DMC3 special addition. The bosses take average damage from attacks, and most enemies take less than 10 hits (which go very fast in the game) to kill.

How on earth could any of you NOT[/i] want a Wii right now with Smash Bros right around the corner? Seriously, the hype for SSBB is unlike anything I have ever seen!
While the validity of those new CV DS screens is still somewhat up in the air, I do think it would be cool if CV came to the Wii as that one menu screen hinted at.

Actually, The PS2 is slated for over 20 different games to be released throughout 2008. There may even be titles coming out in '09, but I doubt it. On the topic, with the trend of PSP games being re-released on the PS2, I'd love to see a PS2 release of Dracula X Chronicles!
