Whoa! I totally felt it.
CNN says it's 5.8 on the Richter (heh heh) scale.
Hit Washington DC but was felt up here in NJ and even in upstate NY.
-
I wish I woulda felt it, of course I had to be driving to get lunch >:/
-
Felt it... it was pretty quiet where I was though... atleast in my house. A little shake, nothing major.
-
felt the Tremors here.
-
I think these quakes are the beginnings of something bigger. And when I mean bigger I mean the rising of Atlantis. Edgar Cayce did warn us to "Watch New York" carefully from this point onward as it would most likely be the first of many places hit. It's like that quake that recently hit Japan. The Pacific plate (Also known as Lemuria) is also on the move.
-
I live in Virgina, and a bunch of stuff fell of my shelves.
-
Didn't really feel it, but I think I may have been in a NYC subway at the time.
-
Yesterday, at 08:00 AM here, a 4.4 Richter scale earthquake strikes the west Borneo/Kalimantan province, which is a VERY rare phenomena.
I wonder if it has any connection to this or just a mere coincidence.
-
well, I just looked up a few 2012 predictions, and rest assured, mentions nothing on east coast Earthqueakes, but however does mention west coast and asia
-
I didnt feel anything, but a lot of people where I am say they did. :o
-
I believe I just felt the aftershock.. like 10 minutes ago.
-
Now I hear Hurricane Irma is coming to get me...;_; ;_; ;_;
-
Don't you mean Irene? Better watch out because within a week there might be a Jose. Trust me, I've lived through my fair share of hurricanes, it's a scary experience, and down here it gets hot as hell after they pass, couple that with no power for days (sometimes weeks if the storms bad), and you have one miserable experience.
-
Yea, it's Irene... I here it's projected to hit the north side bad. But it could always change direction and screw the south or mid-eastern.
-
Yeah, Hurricane Irene. T_T
It might change direction? :o That's good for me, but not so good for the people it'll hit instead. ;-;
-
Yeah we're bracing for Irene in the Northeast.
There was also a Quake in Peru a few days ago. 6.something on the Richter scale.
-
I will fight Irene with all my might :dukesup:
-
Heading out to work soon. But I don't think the worst of it will hit us til I go home.
-
I'll post on my droid when my home starts sailing down the river.

I believe I see dry air entraining on the right side of the storm, if form holds true this weakens hurricanes. We went through the same thing in 2002 with a 150 MPH monster named Lilli, but dry air knocked her down to 90 MPH before she made landfall. Had she not weakened things could've been far worse here, as it is cleanup was messy for weeks after.

True. Unlike a Tornado which can appear almost anywhere, a Hurricane is dependent on cool ocean currents. But once it makes landfall it starts to die unless it turns back out over the ocean again to regain its strength.

Funny thing, I was thinking that this very morning.

My turn for tropical troubles, Slow-Lee is coming in later today, not a wind threat, but damn if he isn't dumping rain like crazy.
-
Hope you stay well Bloodreign-sama ;_;

Jehovah's righteous indignation has fallen upon you easterners. You must have done something wrong.

I'm used to these things, but this sucker just refuses to hurry out, he decided to stall out along the coastline (about 20 miles offshore). It did drop a tornado about 5-7 miles southwest of me just minutes ago, these storms drop tornadoes like crazy.
-
Such a storm is a good opportunity to get out you digital camera and capture some awesome photographs!

Uh, ya elected Obama.... and not Ron Paul.
-
Paul Ron will save us from the hurricane 8)

Finally after 4 days of yuck weather, and an indecisive storm, it's looking like Lee will finally move out, should be a nice Labor Day that I'll have to work.
I guess they don't call it Labor Day for nothing. :P
