Remember the deathly stairs in the NES castlevanias? particularly in castlevania 3? if you do, then you'll know what i am talking about. The stairs in c.v3 a god awful to maneuver on but are also extremely promenant at the wrong moments.
I've had many horrific moments through the dreaded stairs; so get ready to rage with me, the stairs deserve every ounce of anger thats been thrown at them.

I'm actually quite fond of Castlevania's stairs & I wouldn't mind seeing them return :D
But I'd definately take Rondo of blood or Super Castlevania Iv's stairs over the NES ones anyday.

I never found the stairs "deathly" in the NES castlevanias. It was what helped define Castlevania as we know it and I want them back. It was in SCV4 that the stairs became deathly as they fell out from under you a second or so after stepping on them >:( Ah...memories.

I see your point, take into acount though that i am more enraged with the ones in castlevania 3. The ones in c.v1 and 2 were not great at all, but they did have some nastolgic value.

Are you referring to the tower segments of CV3 where you have to ascend and dodge the gargoyles who fly at you and the bone pillars that shoot you? All this while trying to reach the top? Then yeah I can agree with you. But those segments, if you've done them often enough are easy to get through once you get the pattern down.

not particularly but still one of my dreads

What is THE most dreadful thing the CV3 stairs did to make you rage
-
Well, using sub weapons between flights of stairs when up is the command to climb stairs! the positioning of the stairs are so close together and there is always a knight on the bottom of the stairs! When your on those stairs, your butt is licked! but yeah thats one of my main dreads along wih falling off stairs, damn! btw thanks for the comments!

When i was young and skilled i never fell off the stairs, then i grew up and managed to fall to my death on the first staircase in the swamp level more than once.

you should try poetry or philosophy ;)
