Trevor, followed by Simon and Richter.

Richiter has been confirmed to be the strongest out of this group since Belmonts get stronger each generation so YEAH

1. Simon, the only Belmont to kill dracula twice, and the second time he was much weaker.

2. Christopher, Killed dracula twice also, second time was for family!

3. Julius, The akuma of Belmonts

4. Richter, He may be strong, but when your the only belmont to be fully mature and got mind controlled from a dead priest, Your Obviously the Derp of the family.

Where's Julius? Who the hell is Desmond?

Judging by actual feats shown in games its pretty obvious Richter is the most powerful.

And judging by the belief that Belmonts get stronger and stronger each generation it should be Julius who is the strongest.

By the way, where the hell is julius?

Richiter Beaumont.

Given the lack of an option for Julius, I'll opt for Richter. Also, WHY is Juste not in the choices and yet Desmond is?

Pretty much this all the way. Just as Dracula gets stronger and stronger every resurrection, so too do the Belmonts every new generation in order to maintain the Balance of power.

I like Richter and all, but he didn't kill Dracula hard enough for the dude to stay dead more than five years, then he got manipulated by a ghost, then he got his ass kicked by Dracula's son, then he had to stand back while Alucard finished his family's job, then he lost Vampire Killer for around two centuries. It's not the best record.

I voted Christopher, who at least cleaned up his own mistake.

Desmond *is* a Belmont...maybe from a crappy game, and not part of the official timeline, but Order of Shadows was official. That said, hes certainly not the strongest on that list...

Me, I'd go with Simon. He managed to kill Dracula twice even without fancy tricks like item crashes, changing characters, double jumps, or backflips. Simon has true grit 8)

Where's Gabriel? Thanks

I was gonna say the same thing, then I realized, would he really count?

Anyway, where's Julius?

The sky is blue, water is wet, and Gabriel could whoop the crap out of all the other Belmonts combined!

I vote Christopher because the second time he whooped Dracula he was an old guy. (You can only really see it on the Dracula Densetsu II boxart, though.)

Q: What does Christopher say to a battered and bruised Dracula?
A: Nothing, he already told him twice! HUUURRRR GEDDIT

Gabriel is Dracula. Ergo, every belmont had already kicked his ass.

Richter didn't lose the VK. According to a prophecy, the Belmonts were not allowed to use it after SotN, probably so it could be used in the ritual of the 1999 battle.

When it comes to abilities, I'd say Julius and Richter are the top dogs.

This Gabriel you speak of..he is likely a bastard of a Cronqvist and made up his famous surname after admiring his hometown scenery  ;D
Also, seeing as how most of his life he is Dracula, it's logical to ignore him (http://www.gifsforum.com/images/gif/deal%20with%20it/grand/5894848451111.gif)

Like I said, judging by actual feats shown ingame Richter is obviously the most powerful

Sure him being manipulated my have damaged his rep and all but the fact remains that he has shown himself to be a very powerful belmont.

PS.

He did not get beat by Alucard.

Alucard only broke the Shafts spell.

I chose Richter I only save girls and I can fly Belmont because Julius I can make Dracula's castle crumble due to only using a part of my power while in my 50's Belmont wasn't on the list.

No, in the CANON GOOD ending Alucard only broke the spell.

Alucard only slashed the orb until the spell broke.

He never "beat" Richter.

Just the spell.

Also, even Alucard admitted that among all the vampire slayers Richter's power is supreme.

That alone hints that Alucard thought that even he could not beat Richter IMO.

He beat off a curse without harming Richter... that goes farther.

And just because he says Richter's power is the most powerful of all hunters, it still only goes in the circle of hunters. The prettiest piece of shit, is still a piece of shit.

I voted Christopher(I know Leon had to kill his wife and hey where's Juste? He was ready to kill his best friend!) just because he had to fight his own son even though I don't really think that's what Jooohshaft meant by "most powerful"?  If he means what I think he means that means Julius is the "most powerful". maybe you should have used the word strongest?
Title: Re: Most powerful belmont

If its judged by ingame feats all votes go to Juste, He has both the most attacks and some of the strongest abilities.
he is the only character that can charge his whip
he has the most item crashes, and summons.
he is also the fastest with his Dash abilities.

Leon and Simon could activate invincibility whenever they wished in Lament of Innocence and Simon's Quest provided they had the item required.

Damage-wise, Richter and Juste are the best, I think.

Story-wise Julius is the obvious answer and he is the one I would vote for.

I think there should be some distinction between feats and gameplay abilities. Feats are defeating Dracula twice and without allies. Gameplay abilities are launching into a high jump when the player presses down, up and X.

Richter has movement abilities like that in such games as Symphony of the Night and Portrait of Ruin, while his only one in Rondo of Blood and The Dracula X Chronicles was the somersault. Was he supposed to be stronger in the stories where he couldn't beat Alucard or (as the whip's memory) Jonathan than he was when he beat a full-power Dracula, or is it just that exploring a Metroidvania requires abilities that a Classicvania doesn't need? Is Leon enormously more skilled with the whip than his descendents, or do 3D hack & slashers simply need combos to stay interesting?

Look at Simon... he can only jump and whip and throw sub-weapons in his various classic games, but put him in Harmony of Despair and he's suddenly defying gravity and shooting magic fireballs with the best of them, and when Simon's in Judgment he gets to break out into fancy combos. The other Belmonts haven't gotten the chance to strut their stuff in every style of gameplay, but we can expect that their abilities would also reflect the type of game they're in.

I don't want to just ignore gameplay abilities, but going strictly by them, Trevor circa 1476 is weaker than Jonathan circa 1944, and who wants to live in a world where Trevor is weaker than Jonathan?

You forgot like half the family.

Julius. I mean seriously. Ambiguity over the meaning of "Strongest Vampire Hunter" aside, hes the one who finally kicked Dracula's bucket for good.

to the people who asked about julius and juste: i am just doing the more historical belmounts.

Actually, Richter only has Back-Flip and Item Crash.

Its actually a stupid idea to add abilities AFTER he for-filled his purpose, Richter went to live a more normal life, Accept it.

but the list IS very lacking. You simply said, most powerful, then you go and skip half the family, and later say " oh no, just the the classics".

And besides, whats the POINT of only "the classics" if your gonna ask who people think the strongest belmont is? you should include the whole family, no exceptions.

No, people just think the poll should include what the title says. There are people who actually prefer one or more of the Belmont's not listed.

And yes, Gabriel included.

Please don't take this as an attack, but I'm wondering if perhaps you just couldn't come up with witty names for the rest?  I've had that happen to me, and then not posted something because of it.
