Operation: Akumajo --Castlevania 25th Anniversary Tribute (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXwJy7OY7Is#ws)
As most of you probably know, Monday is Castlevania’s 25th Anniversary. Regardless of our differences, I think most of us can agree that Konami has failed the fans in a big way this year. Castlevania really deserves far better treatment, and there will NEVER be better time for us all to stand up and say so. Here is Konami’s contact information... ;D

I made a little gif, I know it's not a tribute video but I probably won't be making one and I didn't want to contribute nothing
(now I just hope it plays correctly in peoples browsers)

Vampire Variations looks to be shaping up well, and C Belmont that's a funny gif (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v119/c0mbat/laugh.gif)

well since this appears to be the official anniversary topic, here are collectors cards including some of the fan favorites over the generations! (don't mind Fuma, just place them in the same special guest category like Pumpkin.) ;D

Thanks for the promote, Crisis. I'll post Part 2 here and in my thread when it goes up this Wednesday.
Also, 1UP did a article for the 25th Anniversary. Beats IGN's by a mile. http://www.1up.com/features/castlevania-chronicles-killing-dracula-25-years (http://www.1up.com/features/castlevania-chronicles-killing-dracula-25-years)

This is cool music and art it really wants me to try drawing and my casio piano again but at the same time it makes me sad :'( that I can not do as much as some as you guys and girls can I am not a musician nor am I good at drawing nor can I put videos on youtube but seeing others do something like Vampire Variations, Sindra's video Operation akumajo makes me want to really want to do something no matter how small.

In mourning of the 25th, I decided to pay a lil tribute with some stuff I had lying around before sealing everything away forever, mainly OoE (don't have time to make a video) nothing special.. but it's more effort than what Konami did

Not sure if anyone has seen this, but Joystiq has a short little read on some of the odder entries in the series: http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/26/castlevania-a-miserable-little-pile-of-minutiae/ (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/26/castlevania-a-miserable-little-pile-of-minutiae/)

I have the OoE bag. It got so weighted down with schoolbooks that the strap broke. :( but I still use it to keep my laptop in.

Fuck you, Konami, I got 3 of these things!

Very nice! These videos make me want to go back and play the older ones.
-
Yeah, same here. I enjoyed that, Thanks!

One of my friends has some people that want to branch out of a WoW podcast into a general gaming podcast. I'll see if we can get some kind of Castlevania edition around Halloween, but this is a big "if".
Happy birthday, Castlevania. We all still love you, even if your parents don't.

Here is my Tribute ! :D

Lol, I love the conclusion. Someone needs to take that screenshot of "2D will never die!!!" and spam COX's Twitter with it.

I'm with you on this one!!!
Sindra, awesome work as always!!! :)
-
AWESOME! Good job Sindra! :)
-
Good job with your retrospective on the series there, Sindra. :D I think all of these Castlevania tributes are helping to raise awareness of the 25th Anniversary and that's certainly a good thing!
Crisis and Nemesis --I must say I'd recommend against spamming the Twitter account --at least for now... Everyone needs to remember that Dave Cox is NOT a Konami employee --he's the front man for Mercury Steam. His company was contracted to develop Castlevania in 3-D --there's no evidence whatsoever that 2-D was ever part of the negotiation. Is he an insider with any influence? Perhaps he is... But even if that were true, he's still 100% beholden to Konami's corporate puppet-masters --who no doubt want LOS2. Bothering Cox about Konami's failures would be kind of like calling Gamestop to complain about release dates getting pushed back.
Now IF Konami washes its hands of Castlevania **as this 25th Anniversary seems to be indicating** AND Mercury Steam assumes complete control of the series --then Cox becomes a legitimate target. As a matter of fact, if Konami announces LOS2 without any official commitment to the Akumajo Dracula traditions, I think then it will be time to seriously consider boycotting Konami products.

Uh... correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Cox part of Konami Europe? He was credited back in SotN.

Really? I have not heard of that --let me do some fact checking to be sure...
-
Cox's twitter account says "Producer@Konami".
-
Cox's twitter account says "Producer@Konami".
I did find a profile for Cox on the IMDb that credits him as a Director of Product Management for Konami of Europe back in 2004 for a game called Air Force Delta Strike. However, all of the Lords of Shadow interviews from 2009 and 2010 credit Cox as "Mercury Steam Producer" and many make reference to "his team at Mercury Steam" No mention is made of his direct employment with Konami past or present. Cox has already taken credit for negotiating the Lords of Shadow contract, and he may even be under contract obligation to develop the LOS sequel --that may explain his continued presence and the "Producer@Konami" bit. In any case, he was quite vocal these past few months about his lack of knowledge or involvement in Castlevania's 25th Anniversary --and that was quite telling...
-------UPDATE--------
CastlevaniaLOS David Cox
By the way, I am not the Boss of Mercury Steam, contrary to recent reports!! :) I work for Konami...
3 Aug 10
So presumably he is still working for Konami of Europe... Now the question is how much pull does he have in Japan?
-
He has to be part of Konami if he had pitched an idea to KoJ. All the teams pitched ideas. IGA his, Europe their,s USA theirs, etc. Cox CV1 3D remake was what won, which eventually just became a completely different CV game

Fixed it. Because LoS was indeed supposed to be Cv2 (source: ALL the evidence)
