Lords of Shadow 2 & 3 are a must, and I honestly believe there will be a sidegame set in the LoS universe at one point. For everything else, such as a metroidvania or otherwise, given the past track record, a screenshot would've been leaked by now or a potential title would've been trademarked. Since we've seen nothing of the sort ("Complete Chronicles" was debunked I believe), and Cox keeps hinting at MercurySteam in control of the franchise right now, there's no reason to believe any of those "rumors."
One can argue the fact that Harmony of Despair exists is proof that Konami wants to continue making "traditional" CV games, but one could also take from it that it's just Konami milking the last drops of the classic games/characters so LoS can be in the spotlight.
However, a small piece of me still believes a metroidvania will eventually be released.. but the style/continuity it'll adopt is anyone's guess.

I feel like at this point Konami needs to go the route of creating another Metroidvania. It just seems to be what a lot of the fans are asking for right now. It doesn't really matter to me if it's a Handheld game or a Console game, although I would prefer the latter. Remember that TGS 2008 Alucard trailer? I'm still so depressed that never got released.
Now that it's October I'm following Castlevania like mad. Just like I did last year. I would be happy with any kind of announcement at this point.

No mention of the Nintendo 3D Classics: Castlevania?
As of now, my faith in the rumors falls behind that, and the Lords sequel. We still don't really have any recent announcement or evidence of either one, though Cox said a while back that their next game was already in development, so it at least has some kind of backing.
As for N3DC:CV, I've got a whole other topic about that. :P

DXC on PS3? When/where did this rumor come from? I obviously missed it...
Not holding my breath but this would be great if it happens.

Konami don't care about fans (and they souldn't - considering that fans have different opinion of what they want). They care about money. Fans couldn't bring much money.
Personally I believe there is LOS sequel in the works (considering Arajou and Cox words). However there could be more games. I think there could be some CV game for the 3DS and Vita - more likely remake of some of the past games or a direct port.

Hopefully, Cox and his posse are working on a non-Castlevania title right now (assuming one of their two upcoming titles indeed isn't), and they allow IGA to do some stuff. He isn't working on anything right now I believe. However, Konami said they wouldn't bring any famous Konami franchises to 3DS until after Snake Eater, so I don't think we'll get an annoucement before early 2012.

I am fully expecting them to announce an original Castlevania remake released on 3DS that uses 8bit graphics with 3D effects. Would prefer a Dracula's Curse one, but am expecting Castlevania.

It seems like rumors spring up faster than Corpseweed these days. Someone heard something about a Castlevania game, and the winds blow hard across the forums. Was Castlevania Complete Chronicles only for Vita? Some said yes, others said no. Where were the FACTS? I have found no sources for the Dracula X Chronicles being remastered in HD for the PS3, but I am cheering for it! I hate squinting at the PSP screen to play it. I just wonder if these rumors have a crumb of fact, or are they made up by hopeful fans who just want to watch their rumor fly through the forum? Or maybe they just want to have something to talk about because Konami would rather focus on their more mainstream titles, and give Castlevania fans the middle finger. I hope not. I would love to see Castlevania have a finale to the Dracula X storyline. Or a second chapter to Lords of Shadow. Better yet, the Complete Chronicles encompassing every game possible. There's a pipe dream.

"DXC for ps3" came out of someone's ass, as did Complete Chronicles, etc. And of course we take it and run with it.

I think LoS2 is in the making, and we'll possibly see that 3D version of the original Castlevania on the 3DS, maybe early next year. Other than that I don't think there's anything to be honest.

LOS2 is pretty much a given at this point and Im sure we'll see a 3DS Castlevania eventually (maybe when after all the MGS 3DS heat dies down)

Why is this such an unlikely thing? Don't you know they've been porting over psp games to the ps3 for a long time now? They just recently released all of the psp God of War games for the PS3.

God of War is God of War. DXC is just obscure and didn't sell all that well. Based on that and the fact that it's a sidescroller, I'd say a ps3 version is highly unlijely. Also, what would it look like in HD? Not too hot, IMO. It's just not that type of game. The graphics would not translate very well IMO.

DXC got a special re-release in Japan, so I'm sure it did fine.

I heard it kinda bombed elsewhere though. Anyway, it wasn't a hit like GoW, I think we can all agree on that? And I don't think Konami cares about this game anymore. I'd like to see it though, so I hope I'm wrong. Even though the graphics will look awful in HD. But I still think it's highly unlikely.

needs LOS 2... i think the metroidvania's need to stay on the bench for now. Lets see how mercury steam plays their interpretation out. I don;t want another remixed castlevania game...new IP please

I actually hate most HD collections so far since its hella cheaper to just download an emulator and put on 3x scale and AA.
