Title: Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition
Post by: Gecko on October 04, 2011, 12:07:00 PM
Anybody else enjoying this? It's free for anyone with a DSi or 3DS until February 2012. It's basically the Four Swords game that came with ALttP on the Gameboy Advance some years ago, but with a bunch of updates. There's a fully functional single player mode, wireless communication, and extra stages based on some of the classic 2D Zelda games. Also, the controls are set up differently since there are two more buttons on the DSi/3DS than on the GBA.

I've really enjoyed playing it with some of my friends. I didn't really ever get to play all the way through the original version, since I was pretty much never able to find anyone to play it with. Since it's a free download for everyone with the appropriate systems, it's something everyone with the system can play together. Single-player mode doesn't hurt either.

Well now. Finally have a reason to get DSi/3DS.

I got it yesterday on my 3DS, and it's a hella bunch of fun so far; I'm glad that I'm no longer missing out on this game with the single-player mode. Kinda wish I had a friend with a DSi or 3DS, though...

Holy crap!  I had no idea this was available, much less free.  Thanks a ton, Gecko, for posting this.  I've never played the game before, but I was thinking about buying it last week.  :)

Got it downloaded on both my DSi XL and my 3DS. Hoping to get together with a buddy soon and play it. Kind of a shame it doesn't support online play. :( At least, that's what I heard.

I never did beat Four Swords Adventures on the GameCube. After about an hour, my one buddy would always get bored and start being a total asshole to everybody, bombing the hell out of us. It was fun, but just a tad obnoxious because I wanted to play the whole game. Not exactly that fun when playing solo.

Awesome. And since its free until February, that gives me enough time to get a 3DS for by birthday.

I dunno. I had fun with it as a solo game. It has it's own merits as a solo adventure.

Well it's about F**king time they made four swords available for single players! I've been wanting to play that game since...well... Almost a decade now?

Four Swords Adventures (Gamecube) is mighty fine on Single Player, and it's the only real time you'll get to use the awesome Cross Formation with super-special spin attack action.

That commercial is pure awesome-ness.
Robin Williams is cool. Didn't know he had a daughter. Also, I always said if I ever have a daughter I want to name her Zelda.

Well, you could say it's less...silly than the film was. You shouldn't read it though, 90% of it is padding.

Quite so. Very pretty.
With the new price of the 3DS I think I'll definitely be getting one now that I'm actually making some money again. Don't wanna miss out on the new iterations of my favorite classics. ^___^

Hoo boy, was that a fucked up book. Loved it though.

If I have a son, I will name him Gogan. If a daughter, Flare.

The Four Swords and FS Adventure. Never got to play either of them--the only official Zeldas I haven't played and beaten. I only own the DS Lite, so this isn't a deal for me, even though I'd love to play it.  :'(

PS: What is with the Robin Williams commercials? Just because his daughter's named Zelda? It seems a little odd; though not bad. But how is this a sale point to the larger masses to the level that they keep using him. Is he doing a Skyward Sword commercial, too? lol.
