I remember renting Alundra yeeears ago from Blockbuster. It was an interesting experience but I've never became a huge fan of it, I barely remember the story. I think they made a sequel, I wonder how that was.

Maybe I'll download it to my PSP GO soon.

This is one of those games I got that has just sat on the shelf, forgotten by time, lol. I've really wanted toplay this, but I just have to be in the right mood to play a psx game, or something. I heard some of the puzzles are crazy hard.

The bastards (okay, they were actually girls) who sold me this forgot to put the map back in when they were putting the disc in the case. And I never went back to get it, because the store is about 90 minutes away. :(

Never really played the first... but I nearly beat the second... I despise that second game... not because of the gameplay although it was relentless hard and control weren't the best. It was pretty good though. But after beating the final boss which is after going through an amazingly long ass dungeon with a ridiculous amount of puzzles, they expect you to remember almost every step in reverse.... that is to say, you go back out without doing the puzzles again but since the puzzle changed the room somewhat you have to figure out how to get out............ all in under 2 minutes!

I made it to.... I think 3 or 4 rooms before exiting before I ran out of time ... and there was no save, afaik through the whole fucking DUNGEON! I mean..... WHAT THE FUCK!?

I love Alundra! It's sort of a spiritual sequel to Landstalker on the Sega Genesis, which I also love. Alundra is very frustrating at times. Probably the hardest action-RPG I've ever played, but it's definitely not impossible.

Alundra 2 has absolutely nothing to do with the original. I've only played a few hours of it and it was forgetable at best.

I love Alundra and i have played it hundred of times!!! It's difficulty on puzzles and battles, is brutal, but it has a very interesting and deep scenario. I really like it's game play mechanics. Now Alundra 2, is a completely different game. Only the name is the same. I have finish it, nice game but nothing like the original. I wish that it would have a different name, since it doesn't have to do anything with the first Alundra.

Landstalker huh? I'll def have to check that one out. Also If any of you have snes emulators check out the Enix trilogy.
Soul blazer, illusions of Gaia and Terranigma. they are fantastic as well. Terranigma was never released in the US but you can dl the rom that was release in europe. it's in english. it's probably the best of the three.

Landstalker is generally considered to be quite challenging too, mostly because its isometric graphics combined with some frustrating platforming segments. But if you finished Alundra you should be fine. Not that Alundra is difficult in the same way, but they share some similarities. There is a particular area in Landstalker called the green maze which had me scratching my head for literally days. I wish there was a map system for dungeons too - they get rather HUGE and confusing after a while, but other than that it's a very underrated classic!

I've played the Enix trilogy and think Terranigma is arguably the best game of the three. It's extremely expensive these days too, but I managed to grab a copy a few years ago.
