The Lisa stuff happened before Castlevania III, right?
-
Yes. Lisa is dead by the time of CV3.
Don't even need to be a nerd >.> Just need to connect simple dots.
-
Yes, the romance between Dracula and Lisa happened between LoI and CVIII. They got Alucard there and Lisa was killed by humans who thought she was a witch. Dracula was very angry and put his curse on Europe to avenge his dead wife and punish humans, leading to CVIII.

Yup. Before Lisa's death, Dracula only hated god. It was Lisa's death, or in Dracula's eyes: murder, that made him hate humans and sentence them to extinction. My only question is when precisely did she die. All we know is that she was killed, Alucard witnessed it, and that Dracula started his war against humans afterward. We are never told how much time passed before Trevor Belmont emerged and began his journey to defeat Dracula. I'm also wondering when precisely Alucard turned on his father. Remember, when you first meet Death at the beginning of SotN, he says that he will not ask Alucard we return to "our side", but he demands that he stops attacking. This implies that Alucard was once on Dracula's side. Could it be that he once fought for the forces of evil before joining the forces of good?

There is a timeline that places Lisa's death as sometime during the 1470's. Also, the CoD manga suggests that Alucard betrayed his father very shortly before the events of CV3 because Dracula didn't hear about that until Trevor was already trying to get into the castle.

That's been updated by the radio drama. In 1448 Ryudomiru pledges his allegiance to Alucard as tribute to Lisa because she healed his parents before she was condemned. So we can assume she was killed shortly before.
-
Good thing that checks out. Who knows how much more I'd be raping the timeline if it didn't.
-
What are you raping the timeline with?
Let me know if you need any other dates. I've got a mostly complete timeline written out.
-
I'm working on something that probably prevents Charlotte and Carrie from existing.
edit: Yoko too.

Well, we know that the radio drama flashbacks are set 350 before SotN, but I think they were just rounding that up. Otherwise you have this weird 25 year gap between Lisa's death and CV3 during which nothing happend...

Dracula was preparing his invasion?
Just speculation.
-
Dracula was preparing his invasion?
For 25 years?
I doubt it.
-
Yes, that's my main gripe with that theory.
-
I have no idea what you guys are talking about. This has no effect on me.
LA DEE DA~.

It is a little odd, but I have a theory that Iga was beginning to accept that Legends, CotM, CV64, and LoD could be incorporated into his timeline. He's never come right out and said it, but references to those games had been popping up near the end of his tenure. Also, it would explain why he changed Lisa's death date. Having her die a couple years before Legends allows Dracula enough time to declare a fuck-this-world-war on everyone out of anger and using the slightly powerful yet limited resources available to him at that time.

-Lisa, Alucard's mother, is condemned to death as a witch. Alucard() may have witnessed her execution.

-Ryudomiru is mortally wounded and turned into a vampire by the incubus Magnus.
-Alucard defeats Magnus.

-Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse
Instead of actually dying by Sonia's hands, Dracula pulls the old appear-to-be-dead-but-actually-escape-as-mist-trick that he would later use again on Christopher Belmont. This allows Dracula 26 years to bide his time, become more powerful, grow a larger army of monsters, and even tutor a couple of young Devil Forgemasters as generals. Also, keep in mind that Dracula's war had started long before Trevor set off on his quest. So we're probably looking at less than 20 years.

I'd happily accept Danial's version of events.
I find it interesting that this would mean that Sypha was encased in stone for perhaps 25-30 years (since Judgment implies she set out to stop Dracula shortly after Lisa's death). Trevor remarks that he'd always wanted to know what Sypha was like during this period, and what a different era it was.
I have to wonder about how the order of events might have gone. Dracula unleashes some fury after Lisa's death. Church sends out Sypha to destroy him. Could Sypha ever had met Alucard or Sonia during her first ill-fated expedition? Could the church have found Sonia after Sypha failed to return?

UGH STOP SPECULATING YOU GUYS. YOU'RE FUCKING THIS UP FOR ME.

Hey, you're the one who started this by asking in the first place. :P
-
Yeah man. You can't always control where a thread goes, as long as it's not vituperative or *crazy random* off-topic, a bit of meandering from other folks is fine. ^^
-
Yeah, but I didn't ask for an in-depth thing on exactly how many years are between Lisa's death and CV3.
Nor did I want to hear about Sypha being a Gargoyle from that Disney cartoon or whatever the hell you guys are talking about.

uhhh,
Why does it even matter to you?
Your question has been answered has it not?
Why not let them have their fun.
-
Yeah, it's natural for threads like this to turn into a Wild Mass-Guessing thread. You of all people should've expected it, being a Troper and all.
-
That is pretty brilliant, Danial. It incorporates everything yet things make enough sense. I'm sure someone here will probably nitpick it but it sounds plausible enough to me. Good job!
And yes, Dracula LOVES pulling the old "I totally died but didn't!" on the GB titles. xD

One mistake. Alucard DID in fact witness his mother's execution.
- We have the dialogue just before he succubus battle in SotN
- After Dracula is defeated at the end of SotN, he asks Alucard what Lisa's last words were
-
That last sentence about Alucard is a leftover from an early version of the timeline. Thanks for pointing that out, it slipped by me when I posted it.
Also, thanks for the compliments Reinhart and Jorge. My obsession for lists is paying off! :)
