Ever since that internet scare a few weeks ago from Congress, it's been impossible to find anything on the internet now these days...thoughts?

No doubt, people really need to take notice of this stuff, here's an example, I make my non profit game: Vamprotector and release it here on the forum. Even though Konami may not have a problem with it, I get stopped in the airport going to let's say visit, Japan for a random search. They search my labtop and someone recognizes sprites from Konami. My labtop is confiscated and subsequently destroyed, and then I get slapped with a giant fine. The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Act is not at this point yet, this is the type of stuff the US wants to push. That goes for ipods, mp3 player, etc.Take notice people!

what the hell is happening in our world it's like everything is turning upside down I am trying to understand all of this so much information to take in but the bottom line is that the internet that forms our lives is turning upside down, and anonymous man.... Shit is really getting out of hand it's going to be a cyber civil war if this goes on no one will be safe. And what the hell is acta there is an other facking thing out there really. What the hell can we do no seriously what the hell can we do this makes absoultely no sense it's taking our basic rights for freedom of speech and expression it's damn anarchy >:(

Just think back. A few years ago, nobody paid Anonymous any mind. They were that collection of OTAKU! and NERDS! that nobody took seriously.
And suddenly... BOOM. They found something they cared about enough to unite and fight back. And suddenly, with a new unified goal, and common enemies, they are becoming an increasing threat to the establishment, with increasing charisma, public support, and furthermore, their tactics and methods are becoming more advanced.
Yes, they are anarchists in the end, but they are anarchists who happen to be on our side for the time being. I say we make the most of that.
I just fear what will happen if the US Government decides it's "had enough of this shit" and takes off the kid gloves.

Fresh ideas and alternative options are what this whole situation needs not an incitement to war and certainly not a war that would be headed by the likes of Anonymous who appear to thrive on fear, humiliation and intimidation.It would be better in the long run to to find a way to take the wind out of the goverments sails in my opinion.

The way I see it, the United States Government (or at least it's current incarnation) has declared war on the internet already.
SOPA and PIPA were hardly opening salvos. They were nukes that would have ended the battle decisively. Not the war, but it would have done a lot of damage to us.
And the United States has apparently signed onto ACTA last year, and Obama has expressed his intention to enact its measures via Executive Order (http://www.webpronews.com/president-obama-doesnt-support-sopa-but-signs-acta-2012-01), so all those allies we just made in Congress? Oh yeah. They can't do anything to stop this until Obama leaves office, unless it's taken to the Supreme Court, and in either case, by then, a great deal of further damage will have been done.
We really are alone here. If we won't stand up to these censorship bullies, who do you think will?
I don't propose guns and/or secession (though I would happily cheer on any states that had the balls to pull that kind of maneuver), but we do need to rally and become even more involved than we were on the 18th.
I'd love to see this conducted peacefully. I really would. But I don't think it'll turn out that way, and more's the pity because of that.

That is the biggest heap of bullshit I've ever seen. Megaupload will take down copyrighted material if they receive a complaint. I've seen stuff disappear off of there really quick too. This is NO different than Youtube or any other similar site.

^Yup. I've read a lot of testimonies on different sites saying that exact same thing.
However, I also read that the argument is... they took away the link, but not the actual data. Of course... I don't know if it's true or not... but even if it was, maybe they are actually reviewing it, to see if it is an infringement. But I doubt that matters.
Megabox is the real reason Megaupload was raided.

If this happens then then the United States of America will officially no longer exist. Instead it will be the Imperial Americano (American Empire) as stated in many of those cyber punk mangas and animes (Ghost in the Shell to name one). But if America becomes an empire then it's only a matter of time until they, like Rome before her, will fall. And fall hard.

I just love how in their videos Anonymous claims to be all about freedom of speech and all that but when someone starts voicing an opinion in disagreement with their views they attack them for it, At this point anyone genuienly suffering as a result of internet piracy is probably to afraid to give their side of the story.

Well, remember that Anonymous is not in any way centralized. People can be dicks, and this guy seems to have gotten on the wrong side of some of the members of Anonymous who are less noble.

I hear they targeted megaupload cause its main guy, "Kim Dotcom" was involved with some very shady stuff. But now a lot of other file sharing sites are dying...what r we gonna do? ;_;

If you haven't had a chance check out the court papers on the Megaupload Conspiracy. I posted the link on page 1 of the thread, they were so thorough with the competing file sharing sites they basically opened a pandora's box and fukked it up for everyone. Also think about this, the FBI has the IP address of everyone that has ever downloaded content through megaupload. Realistically they wouldn't? be digging through all them unless looking for stuff such as kiddy porn and unsavory things like that, but it still gives you something to think about the next time you are trying to download anything from the internet...
