Title: Cornell not Included: X-Play's Five Best Wolves in Gaming
Post by: Lumi Kløvstad on January 27, 2012, 10:39:24 PM
Amaterasu had no chance of not making this list. (http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/720286/top-5-wolves-in-videogaming/)

And yet... it's a shame neither Cornell merited a mention. Especially when his was one of the few halfway decent designs in Judgment, and his story in LoD was actually kind of sweet.
Lords was... well... Lords.

For the sake of discussion, would you alter this list in any way?

I'd personally like to include the wolves that accompanied Sniper Wolf in the Metal Gear Solid games. I don't know. They're just kind of... emotional.

Also: honorable mentions to Freki and Geri from Devil May Cry 2. They were actually kind of fun minibosses in a game plagued with bad fights.

Nothing for Altered Beast Guy? Werewolf The Last Warrior deserves at least a mention. You can't get much deadlier than a wolf with swords for hands.

How the fuck did normal simulated wolves get on that list, but Cornel, Altered Beast, and the dude from the NES werewolf game didn't? That just kinda stupid.

At least they bothered to mention Sabrewulf (though not in a positive manner). So, all in all, this list is not very good.

What a bizarre topic.  Top 5 wolves?  What's next, top 10 chinchillas?  Best 100 Video Game moments involving belly button lint?

I can understand ranking something that was common in gaming, such as zombies or ninjas, but wolves?  Off the top of my head, the only ones I could think of were Cornell, Amaterasu, and the Twilight Princess wolf form.

^^Yeah, this list seems pretty irrelevant. GamesRadar does a Top 7's all the time, and even they think of more interesting stuff than this.

maybe because they're not popular enough in the general gaming community to make it in the list?

I don't like that list.
