Apparently, Medal of Honor can help fix your vision. (http://www.geeksaresexy.net/2012/02/20/medal-of-honor-a-sight-for-sore-eyes/)
That's... um... interesting/unexpected/okay-maybe-slightly-expected.

Now we just have to wait for another doc to say shooters are harmful for the eyes.

I guess this is good news, since I play the older MoH games a lot, though I doubt they are imbued with eye-healing properties.

FPS games always gave me headaches. I guess it's that part about running around in closed labyrinth-like areas and shooting everything that moves. Couldn't play them for more than 10 minutes straight. Third-person not so much, though.

I never had cataracts and it never fixed muh eyes. It has helped in other areas (reflexes and so on), though.

I used to get a fair amount of that. I think not using a laptop - even a large one - but a 26" screen and a nice graphics card helps.
I'm pretty much done with online shootin' though. Can't stand the kids anymore, and the 'classic' games are turning into chatrooms with guns.

Haha I 'd piss off so many people in Counter-Strike cuz I chatted so much. :D And I'm 31.
It's not the first time video games have been considered for neurological treatment, which is what the report is about, not treating eyes: the report doesn't say it cures eyesight; it says it may help the brain learn how to process visual input it wasn't able to learn due to childhood cataract. Games like Tetris are being studied as means of treating PTSD as well, which is a good idea since we don't want war vets or abused kids running around shooting people up.

But, I already have perfect vision, I'm just no good at shooters, so I don't play them. I CAN'T AIM. I can spray bullets? Does that count? I think I have 10 hours in Counter Strike, and I never killed anyone once.
