Now, I'm really giddy over XSeed's announcement of bringing The Last Story to NA. Operation Rainfall is doing well. As of right now, 2/3 of the games are being released stateside. But, I wondered about the third game. I really didn't know much about Pandora's Tower(other than it's name and seeing a few cutscene screenshots on a gaming site), so I looked up the trailer, and was surprised to see it was an action RPG. Though, one part of the trailer really stood out to me:

SCV1 styled whip swinging, whip grappling(which was in LoS), snaring enemies and flailing them around and swinging them at other enemies(if you know, I always wanted this in a CV game), using your whip to solve puzzles from afar... WOW! The art direction's not my liking, but all that looked AWESOME!

Watched the vid twice. To be honest, I prefer the look and gameplay of LoS as far as 3D-vania goes. The only thing I think the game in this vid did better is the swinging. In LoS it was too stiff.

Damn this looks cool. The main player reminds me of Cloud from FF7 with a chain whip sword kinda like IVy from Soul Calibur. Looks kick ass none the less!

To tell the truth, it doesn't get far from what LoS has already done. Aside from that, it's looking very interesting as what is meant this game to be. I will definitely try it out!!! ;D

I agree with this too. The only thing I did notice is that the enemies did not take such a long time to die as they did in LoS.

The level design reminds me a lot of Lament of Innocence, for some reason. What era was that released in Japan, PS2?
-
It's a Wii game.
Personally, I'm not that interested in the game. The whip-puzzle elements look nice, but the combat and aesthetics don't really draw me in.

Judging from the trailer it seems this game has already more interactivity with the enviroment than CoD. Ouch. They really should try to focus on that while making a new 3d game. Los kind of did that but it was the same thing each time, like getting those pillars out of your way, or a climb section which didn't really differ much from the others.

Curse had zero interactivity to begin with, other than that random, thrilling gear segment in the clock tower.

Yes, I just played through that section today. Sadly, that makes the gear room the most interesting place in the entire game.

Well this game looks pretty c-...
>Wii exclusive
FUCK IT.

I still can't comprehend how the fuck it occurred to Nintendo to say they didn't want this game to come out in NA. That seems absurd.
-
That game looks like a blatant rip off of Castlevania minus everything that makes CV cool.
-
a castlevania game where the whip is the way you breath, the whip is the way you walk, the whip is the way you jump, the whip is the way you eat, the whip is the way you live.

OK. I just beat the first boss, and I have to say that I like this game so far. It feels more like a cross between LoS and and LoZ actually. The main reason for this is that you don't have a jump button and climbing up onto platforms and over short gaps are handled just like in the 3D Zeldas. One thing I like about it over LoS so far is that not every single little thing you can interact with is shining like a beacon for a retarded monkey. Only the first anchor point for climbing walls was pointed out and the rest are left for me to figure out which isn't difficult when they're depicted as stones jutting out from the wall. The breakable boxes glow when you're near them or when you target them, but they're also distinct enough to be recognizable without seeming out of place. It's funny how the whole not having a jump button thing was never mentioned in any of the articles I read.
