Here's a little something I "whipped" up earlier today...well yesterday I guess you could say as I started it around 8:00 and didn't finish till about 12:00 or so. Tell me what you think? If I ever got around to bringing about my Cv fan game starring Sonia Belmont then this would be the title screen for the game.
-
It reminds me the old days...............and the 16-bit era. I like it.
-
Haha, CV1-style logo, CV2-style backing, Genesis-style colors, and the Legends logo. Interesting pastiche!
-
Neat. :)
The only thing I don't really dig is the blue letters mixed with the red ones. Also, I think the II should extend up as high as the big C.

Thanks. I actually used the NES palette entirely for this, no Genesis palette here though it does look it, doesn't it. I made the film part itself look like film utilizing browns to give it that kind of feel. It makes it actually look like film from one of those classic horror reels.
Neat. :)

The blue is just for the standard lettering while I chose red for the pointed 'V' and 'C' as I wanted a blood effect on them. Now I'm not much of a color wizard but I chose blue to help bring forward the bloody letters more. The reason why the number 'II' isn't beside the CV logo is because I wanted to title the game like this; Castlevania: Legends II. By putting the title as I did it would force the reader to interpret it as such. Hope I didn't fail.

This was intentional as I'm not really all that fond of the IGAvania's CV logo. It just doesn't have the same kind of 'class' as the old ones.

Yeah I dig this. Not a bad choice in story to cover either since no one has really done much with legends.
-
Very nice!

I would change the background color so that the logo pops out more. I would go not a pure black, but it's your choice. Nice design, I like! Work on your fan game man! No teasing! lol

I need to learn who to use construct first. I had all the enemies, characters and items done for some time. But the only thing holding me back is the ability to program. But after seeing construct being used by some of the fellow forum member it did tickle my fancy somewhat. I just have to figure out what to do...

What I could do is switch the colors of the film around so the the darker brown is in the box while the lighter brown is in the border. I'll have to test this and see. You could be right so I'll check it out.
-UPDATE-
All done with the color-swap. Check it out.

Looking good! I would lighten up the gradient from the text in Castlevania to a lighter tone so it doesn't fall too much into the background.
-
I'll see what I can do without overshadowing the 'C' and 'V'.
-UPDATE-
Well here it is. I'm a little worried that the purple may be too bright, however it does make the letters stand out more. I did try a dark blue prior to the purple but it was still too dark to see at a distance.

The second one posted looks the best so far. Keep at it.

That's cool, but if you are going to lighten it, lighten the gradient (everything) as a whole. If you do that it will be perfect. I can already start to see it popping out ALOT more! ;)

It sure looks like and old but gold castlevania title screen! Awesome job, keep it up!
- Did you ever posted something about this project? I would like to take a look at your idea -
-
I haven't posted anything about this project except the story itself and I can't remember what thread it was on or located for that matter. This is the first time I've proposed this idea with some substance though not nearly enough in my opinion (as I need to learn how to program first and that's killing me and this project :'() Tha base-story is like this;
After Dracula's defeat in Legends, Sonia is banished by the Romanian populous due to the fear of her powers. She then goes into hiding and settles in with a small group of people living in a fortified village on the outskirts of Wallachia. Amongst all the inhabitants there is only one person who knows Sonia's identity, who doesn't fear her and becomes her close friend. That woman is Countess Nadiya Stasja. Sonia spends about a year and a half there raising her child. Eventually the town does find out about Sonia and they feel the need to chase her off as did so many others. This angers Nadiya and she decides to take action. Late one evening she leaves the village and journeys to the ruins of Castlevania. Being somewhat of a sorceress she knows how to manipulate evil magic to suit her designs. There she harnesses the weakened powers of castlevania and uses them to partially resurrect it and the undead masses. (Please note that Dracula isn't in this game as he won't appear until CVIII. This was deliberately done on my part.) With the undead back, the village finds itself under siege. Being the only hunter and with the people pleading, Sonia selflessly answers the call. At the end Sonia confronts the Countess and demands to know the reason why she chose her path. Nadiya informs Sonia of her dissatisfaction of the peoples' arrogance and fear at someone whom had saved them in the past. At how foolish they were to banish someone who is a God-send to help and look out for them. Nadiya had willingly made herself the villain in order to promote Sonia as a heroine of the people and to be accepted by them without fear. In the end Nadiya dies, having failed her mission and Sonia is once more ousted by the populous, but not before she gives the townspeople a lecture about there mistakes and failings, and about how they helped perpetuate the events that killed the Countess, her only real friend in the accursed land. With her child and her belongings Sonia departs for lands unknown.
The reason why Dracula doesn't resurrect is because that is not the purpose Nadiya wants. She knows all-too-well what would happen and is not so foolish to even attempt such a summoning (unlike Dracula's followers...) Instead she only brings about the reemergence of Castlevania as a means to an end. But not at it's full power as the count himself would soon follow suit. Death himself cannot do a thing about Dracula as the Countess also has knowledge about Necromancy, thus she is able to hold him off. the end of the story is also convenient as the Belmonts disappear and nobody knows where they went. Just like it states in the Japanese CVIII story intro.

Oh god... That's a huge text! LOL
I read it all and it looks great man! The only thing that is blocking your way is programming ? I mean why don't you get some help from the programmers here! Make a team and do it :3
-
I'm very reluctant to ask for assistance in this as I want to be able to do this all on my own. It may sound selfish of me but I wish to at least try and succeed at something that I can get some form of fulfillment out of. Construct seems like a good choice to start with as the layout appears simple enough...I just need to know how to get started with it and that is perhaps the hardest part of all. Construct 2 seems even more simple then Construct, however the free version of C2 only allows for HTML based games so that's kind of a kick in the pants for me.
-
Never heard of Construct but I use Game maker, its nice and easy, EASY TO LEARN... But I guess you may want to work in a more professional thing
-
I tried using Game Maker but I kept getting turned around with all the symbolisms. Especially with the ones that look the same except for the color change and functionality. In the end the program just sat on my computer and I wasn't doing anything with it. Then I heard about Construct and the layout seems more simple to work with then Game Maker. I'll se how far I can go with it before I decide that I really need help with this issue.
-
Game maker is better for direct coding than using the drag and drop.
-
I like to alternate... Sometimes I use the coding sheet and other times I use the drag and drop, but the first years I used only drag and drop (fearing the coding sheet LOL)
