I remember Puwexil showing this to me just a few days ago and rattling off about how all are true. I can definitely sympathize with the last comic.

I never thought video games looked anything nearing realism, but I totally was wowed by graphics then whereas now my reaction is very much "meh." Part of that is due to me having been a kid at the time and being impressed by almost everything, but another reason is I just don't like how games have turned toward "realism" with grittier environments and a limited color palette. Games used to be fun to look at, where now a truly good-looking game is hard to come by.
I grew up in a different era and I don't like how things are now. Thankfully the Old still occasionally shines through. SUDA51 games are very much old-styled with spicings of the New. Handhelds still cling to cute mascots and colorful graphics and simpler gameplay. That's the kind of thing I like. It's not archaic, it's just a different way of doing things, and I wish it had a more prominent place in today's console world. When a game like Rayman Origins doesn't sell bazillions of copies, something's wrong.

Looks like someone who created it had major nostalgia goggles. As always, when it comes to this sort of stuff.
Personally, I think that 10 years later you will have gamers who will say "that games in my time were better". And what will you say to them? "Oh, you're wrong - it is my 16-bit games were much better than PS3 ones!!" It would be a hilarious dialogue.
