Dragon's Lair - DVD - Full Playthrough (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3XNQja0H7I#)
hmm. . . i see some similarities to Castlevania (perhaps more than los?)
i would've bought it ;D

lol, well...I never saw any similarity. :p
The Wii port of this game is really good, by the way. Though if you have a widescreen TV, switch your Wii to 4:3 to see the game in its original aspect ratio, since there is no in-game option to do so.

Yeah I see a lot of Castlevania themes in this and what not. However, what I really see is what I'm going to add in my next D&D quest.

Don Bluth is God.

I wouldn't say it looks or feels like a CV game(atmosphere and style-wise). Dragon's Lair is overly medieval fantasy, almost banking on the classical take on the fantasy genre from the 70s and 80s(you see a similar theme with various fantasy cartoons and movies during that particular time, be it The Smurfs, Galtar, or movies like Legend, Willow and Dragonslayer). I never considered Castlevania to be among that style. I would say, if there was any a game or games to be like that, it would be the Wizards & Warriors and Ghost 'n Goblins/Ghouls 'n Ghosts series.
And yes, Bluth ruled the 80s. I really think Bluth took the Disney's reins until Disney's "second coming" with The Little Mermaid. Before that, you had Secret of NIMH, An American Tail, Land Before Time... IMO, those were far better than the movies Disney was doing during the 80s prior to TLM.
