I plan to do a challenge run of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood in the future, and want it to be as difficult as possible.
As such, I want to know what route is the hardest.
So far, my route is as follows.
0 -> 1 -> 2' -> 3' -> 4' -> 5' -> 6 -> 7 -> Final
For Stage 2', I take the merman route to Stage 3'
For stage 3', I fall down the pit opened by the iron spiked ball to stage 4'
For stage 4', I take the waterfall route to stage 5'

I just recently found out one of the hardest sections in the game. Due to it's random nature. The part where you get chased by the bull, drop down right away. I found this section really hard with very many attempts at it, and I still can't do it consistently (but I'm also not using state saves to practice, as I prefer to keep the replay in my vania games going for as long as possible. Since I enjoy them so much. So no rush to improve fast for me). Without item crush, this sections is a major pain and I'm not sure if there is an even harder section in this game that comes close? So yeah, include this section.

Hmm? Where are all the Rondo fans to shower you with advice on this topic markyjoe? Do Rondo fans even play this game?
So I might as well add what I remember off the top of my head as what I know for sure;
- do not do the ship level, except for the fact that death should be one of the most interesting bosses in the game without a sub weapon for the first form only... so easiest level in game + hardest boss in one form; or one of the hardest levels in the game and no boss at all (unless you want to count them two sword armour guys at the same time thing? But that's if you decide to take the top route of level 5')... But if you think you've figured out deaths first form too well, then for sure do 5'.
- I already said to do level 2 + take the bottom route to alternate boss... so that basically leaves what to do with level 4?... Basically depends at which level 5 you want to do. If you want to do 5', then without a doubt do level 4, otherwise if you do 4' and you take it's alternate boss route to end up at 5', you won't end up with much of a level at all for level 4'.

Why be so sacastic about things just have some fun like I do they will soon be here soon enough.
Meanwhile there was just one level,one that I could not pass so easy the name passes my mind in the remake I think the boss is the hydra.

Sarcasm is the fountain of youth. So chill, and take a drink.

I haven't played Rondo of Blood (as much as I want to), so I can't exactly help you there. But I have to ask, are there any other conditions for your challenge run? Which character are you using? That kind of thing.

I'm using Richter. The conditions of the challenge run is as follows:
1. Go through the ENTIRE game in one sitting, no breaks and no restarts
2. Do not get hit. Ever. The only exception is the iron ball at the bottom of the secret path in stage 3' since it's unavoidable. It doesn't cause damage anyway.
I might ECC run Rondo of Blood instead, depending on what I feel like doing.

ecc seems like the more reasonable challenge IMO, since you can just go stage by stage, instead of playing everything in one go over and over as practice, which seems sanity straining.
Only thing is you START with the chain whip.

It's not as bad as it sounds. I was able to make it up to Shaft before getting hit, so I think I can pull it off

I still find the lack of getting hit until Shaft pretty awesome.

I'd also be doing live-commentary for the challenge run so you guys could see how nervous I get when I'm close to winning.
